Jason gets a grim prognosis, Sam goes off on Carly, Liz dodges questions and Sonny is determined to stop Jax.
At the hospital, Matt orders Liz to call Lucky about Siobhan. Steve emerges to hear Matt pressing for details about Siobhan's fall. Steve wants Liz to level with him. Liz denies trying to kill her, but can't hide the fact that they were fighting. Steve orders her to get her facts straight because it looks bad. Liz runs into Dante and asks for advice. He offers that she should be consistent with her answers. Liz rambles on about mistakes made before lamenting, "Some mistakes cost more than others." She then realizes she knows where to find Lucky and takes off.
A frantic Sam is filled in on Jason's condition at the hospital by Monica. She is upset to learn he is unconscious and explains he was out trying to fix another mess for Carly. Sam rambles about all that Jason will need when he wakes up, but Monica points out how strong he is. Monica believes Sam has been very good for Jason. The subject turns to Carly again, and Sam is frustrated that Carly always needs other people to solve all of her problems.
Olivia tries to get Carly to lay down in her hospital bed, but she is desperate to stop Sonny. Olivia agrees to go and try to stop Sonny for her. Carly finds Sam and Monica in the lobby and asks how Jason is doing. An annoyed Sam retorts, "We have no idea. Are you proud of yourself?" Carly is shocked and thinks her daughter's welfare was more important than respecting their relationship. Sam wonders why she always calls Jason, but Carly claims that Sam is jealous. Sam is disgusted she used Jake to lure Jason. A livid Sam goes on to say that Jason is hurt because of her before hauling off and slapping Carly in the face! A hardened Carly says she has loved Jason longer and isn't going anywhere. Sam hopes loving Carly hasn't cost Jason his life. Patrick emerges from surgery and tells them it isn't good because Jason has suffered severe head trauma.
Sonny searches Carly's home. He hears something outside and approaches the door with his gun in hand. The babysitter emerges, who has no idea where Josslyn is. Olivia arrives and tells Sonny that Jax is back in town for Josslyn. Sonny is furious, but Olivia orders him to not hurt Jax. She then explains that Jason and Carly are in the hospital. An agitated Sonny remains unphased by the news and screams, "I'm not letting Jax kidnap Carly's kid!" Olivia points out that Carly and Josslyn don't belong to him. She tries to reason with him and wants to call Dante instead. Sonny wants to handle it himself.
Edward is not feeling well, so Skye helps him settle into his suite. Sonny barges in and demands to know where Jax is. Skye points out that Josslyn is Jax's daughter, but Sonny yells that the court said Jax has no rights. Edward laughs that Sonny is all of a sudden quoting the court, when he always ignores the law. Edward knows Sonny was behind Jax's smear campaign. Olivia brings up Jason's accident, which alarms Edward.
Trapped in their car in a ditch, Jax tells Josslyn, "Daddy's going to get us out of here if it is the last thing I do." He realizes the car is not going to move, so he decides to walk and keep moving. He tells Josslyn they have a plane to catch.
Shawn falls to his knees in a rainy alley, and is overcome by painful flashbacks. He hears a child's voice begging for someone to get away from him. He finds his way into the woods and runs into Jax's car. A stray dog greets him and they take refuge in the car together.
After a midnight swim in the ocean, Abby tells Michael she felt like they were the only two people in the world. He promises she is all he'll ever need. He then invites her to Sonny's casino, and gives her a gift, a beautiful dress for her to wear. Abby is annoyed that he keeps bringing up Sonny and trying to seduce her just like his dad. Abby insists she could be happy sitting on her couch eating popcorn with him. He just wants her to have a good time, but she believes he is trying to be Sonny and it scares her. She angrily says, "If I wanted to be treated like eye candy, I'd still be stripping." A disappointed Michael replies, "I'm sorry I took you off the pole." Abby doesn't want him to spend his life being Sonny or rebelling against Jax. He isn't sure. She decides to put the dress on after all and thanks Michael. He tells her she is beautiful and they kiss.
