    Break From Reality.

    Wednesday, May 04 2011
Luke is shut out, Siobhan gets bad news, and Steve loses his shirt.

Tracy finds Luke trying to get into the Haunted Star. She informs him she changed the locks and he won't have access to any part of his life until he goes to rehab. Luke calls her, and everyone else, a disappointment. He stalks off, as Tracy slumps her shoulders and sighs.

Dante finds Lulu making calls for Kate at Kelly's and assumes she's hoping to run into Luke, since he is staying there after Tracy cut him off. She knows she's not supposed to talk to him, but she's worried about how tough the intervention was on her father. Dante suggests they plan to go to a Yankee's game to take her mind off things. Luke saunters in and tells his 'gumdrop' that he doesn’t hold the idiotic intervention against her. Lulu tells her father she loves him, but she doesn’t want to see him until he gets treatment. Dante and Lulu have leave and Luke calls Alexis to meet him. He wants to sue Tracy for everything until Tracy takes him back. Alexis wonders why he is on the outs with his entire family. He fills her in about the intervention, while insisting he does not have a problem. Tracy walks in and Luke informs her he is slapping her with a lawsuit.

Nikolas stops by Lucky's to make sure his brother is okay after the intervention. Lucky knows Luke needs to want help for himself, so he has moved on to worrying about how to keep Siobhan in the country. Nikolas wants to take care of that because Lucky should not be getting married right now. Siobhan walks in and Lucky tells her Nikolas might be able to make it so she doesn’t has to marry him. She doesn't want Nikolas to take any burdens on for her, but Nikolas assures her it's no big deal. After Nikolas leaves, Siobhan takes Lucky off for a surprise.

Siobhan brings Lucky to a cabin. He thinks she is trying to distract him from Luke and Jake, but she just wants to be alone with him. They kiss and then curl up with a blanket on the floor. Siobhan wishes they could stay like this, but she knows reality is waiting for them outside the door. Lucky is optimistic Nikolas will make magic happen with her green card and says one way or the other it will work out. Siobhan hopes so because she hates the idea of leaving him behind.

Elizabeth returns to work and assures her brother this is exactly what she needs after losing her son. As they talk, Elizabeth thinks she sees Jake playing by the elevators. Steve realizes what just happened and suggests she take some more time for herself. She appreciates his support, but tells him to go do something he enjoys because his hovering is stressing her out. Once Steve has left, Nikolas shows up and tells Elizabeth he is calling in every favor he is owed to help Siobhan so Lucky doesn’t marry her. Lulu is next to stop by the hospital looking for Nikolas. Elizabeth tells her he's gone and offers to listen to her about Luke's intervention. Elizabeth understands why Luke wants everything to go back to normal, because that's how she feels. Elizabeth knows Jake's death was an accident and expresses how much she misses her son. As she talks about how she is trying to move on, she sees Jake again.

Lucky and Siobhan return to his place. Nikolas shows up and tells them he had no luck with his contacts. Siobhan thinks it's time to accept that she has to go back to Ireland. Lucky doesn’t want her to give up, suggesting they get married, but Siobhan says it's over.

Steve heads over to Olivia's and finds her dancing to loud music while painting. He sneaks up on her and scares her. She turns off the music, but not before getting some paint on him. Olivia orders him to take off his shirt and is caught off guard by how good Steve looks. When he passes on wearing one of Dante's shirt until his is dry, they start to make out, which leads to sex on the couch.

Spinelli finds Diane rummaging through his office. She tells him their book is doing so well, the publisher wants a sequel. She thinks it would help if they had an outline to work from and wants to look through his files. He tells her they are private and sealed for a reason.

Diane visits Dante at the police station to get his help on finding out what Spinelli is hiding.

Tomorrow's Port Charles spoilers for General Hospital:

The show was so so today. Not too much happening.

Lulu said that Kate forgot to turn in her expense report. Kind of hard to do when you are not on the show, don't ya think. I bet she forgot payroll too. Better check your bank accont Lulu.

Didn't Spanky Buns tell Luke not to come around anymore? Did he think she was kidding. Then he ran to Lulu and she walked out on him. Better get you some help Luke.

Olivia and Steven got their freak on today.

I felt bad for Liz today. She kept seeing Jake.

I'm glad Brenda wasn't on today. I know my ears thank her.

Here’s what I think happened. On top of the announcement of the cancellation of two more long running soaps, and the overwhelmingly negative reaction of the viewers after weeks of pain and anguish over the death of Jake Webber and Luke’s responsibility for it, someone at ABC / Disney must’ve come down hard on Guza, demanding that he give the audience what they tune in to see. One recurring theme of all the criticism I’ve seen (and I’ll bet they’ve seen it too) is “Where is the romance? Where are the couples that make soaps what they are?” Which brings us to today.

After a long cold winter, all of a sudden it’s spring and there’s something in the air. Just in time for the start of the all important May Ratings Sweeps, we finally see shirtless Dr. Steve and dancing Oblivia getting busy at last, and Lucky and Shaboom taking a much needed break from all the drama, however temporary. Other couples, Lulu and Dante, Luke and Tracy, were prominently featured though not in romantic situations, and we can expect more tender moments from Abby and Michael and Sam and Jason in between the convoluted hijinks of Anthony, Lisa, and Suzanne. I’ve got ONE WORD for all this “love in the afternoon.”

    GOOD!

    Quibbles and Questions:

Did anybody notice something odd on Oblivia’s wrist when she and Dr. Steve were lying on the couch? It looked like a nasty scar that I’ve never seen before, but I guess it could’ve been paint she splattered on herself or the world’s ugliest tattoo. When Steve took off his shirt, Oblivia’s eyes bugged out of her head and steam came out of her ears like an old cartoon, just like the wolf whistles in Steve’s head when he watched her work that booty. Good stuff.

This cross promotion for Diane and Spinelli’s book is getting out of hand and is now intruding on the integrity of the characters. There’s NO WAY that Diane would ever expose Jason’s right hand man to a possible police investigation just to get a few ideas for a sequel. She knows Dante cannot be trusted, and anything that Spinelli is keeping from her would almost certainly involve illegal activity. This is as preposterous as the time she helped Carly get the real proof she needed against Brenda. It just wouldn’t happen.

Did anybody really think that Nikolas could solve Shaboom’s visa problem so easily? I guess there aren’t as many people in the State Department that owe him favors as he thought.

GUZA! Do NOT tease us (or Liz) with visions of Jake alive and well. That’s cruel and completely unnecessary, even for an insensitive hack like you.

    Happy Wednesday everyone,

Dante dropped an interesting piece of information today. I’m really surprised that the PCPD (Dante) turned Lucian’s disappearance over to the FBI. Brenda is going to go ballistic when she hears that Sonny’s son isn’t spending every waking moment looking for Lucian. Guess who will get blamed for that. Of course, Dante could have passed the case on so that he can work with Sonny off the clock and not have to worry about an IA investigation. What ever happened to the Corinthos men’s plans to go to a Yankees game together? Morgan will be devastated when he finds out that his big brother took a girl instead of him.

As sick as I am of the Luke intervention SL, AG did get in some laugh lines (the 12 Step Cha Cha and Exorcism of absurdity) today. I hope Luke forges ahead with his plan to sue Ethan and Lulu for visitation rights to themselves, just to see the reaction of the family court judge. What I don’t understand is that he was planning to leave PC and not look back before the intervention and now he seems determined to stay and prove he doesn’t need to go to rehab.

I’m really glad to see that Spinelli and Diane may have a SL that delves into Spin’s past. I wonder what he’s trying to keep to himself, but why would Diane think that Dante would help her find out? Doesn’t she know that’s Carly’s area of expertise?

Lucky and Siobahn need to stop stalling and go get married so they can have more time alone in the woods. We all know it’s going to happen, so they should take advantage of the temporary calm before the next storm. It was nice to see a little love in the afternoon though.

Does Dante know what a hot mama he has? Finally a steamy love/sex scene today – it seems like it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a really good one on GH. Olivia’s couch hasn’t seen any action since she ended things with Johnny. I have to admit to wondering if she’d had it cleaned after they broke up. I’ve said before that I don’t care for Steve, but if he takes his shirt off and doesn’t talk, I find him to be quite enjoyable.

Liz seems to be healing, with the exception of seeing Jake playing by the elevator at GH. I think he’s appearing to her to let her know it’s time to set the record straight on Aiden’s parentage.

Scary WEIRD eye tattoo on Steves back,

Olivia looked really great and so did steve, damn....that guy is in fantastic shape.

Scrimmage: I think it was the stain Olivia was working with on her wrist. It looked like a splash to me.

I HATE seeing Jake playing on the floor. That was so cold and unnecessary .

Nice to see Alexis, all tan and looking good.

Good break from Michael, Sam, Jason and Brenda today.

Liz is so beautiful and wounded. Hope she does wait for Lucky and Siobhan to marry before the BIG reveal. Lucky seems to always want to push woman into marriage. First he has an engagement party for Liz unexpectedly and freaked her out, and now with Siobhan he is totally pushing a reluctant Siobhan. I realize part of her hesitation is not putting Lucky in a situation he may not be ready for but, it would make more sense if it was HER pushing for the marriage. He seems more concerned about losing her then she losing him.

The Diane and Spin scene was lame.

    have a nice day all.

OMG! Sell the farm I'm going to heaven. A (wonderful!) shirtless man and some love in the afternoon in the same show. WHOO HOO. More please....I LOVE Vanessa Marcel/Brenda, hate what Guza has done to her character, (and he is supposed to be really fond of her,?) and this stupid storyline can end at any time. Give her her son, and let her take him on the road to be "safe" Less darkness, less Lisa, more Luke and "Natasha", his kids, Dr Steve without a shirt, anything fun or entertaining--an adventure or mystery, some laughs.
    That's more like it

    THANKYOU THANK YOU THANKYOU

I’m a bit suspicious. It’s almost like they tried to cram a week’s worth of romance into one hastily written episode, just to satisfy the demand, and then it’ll be right back to business as usual.

As far as Shirtless Dr. Steve, personally, I’d have preferred Oblivia without hers too, just to be fair, but I’m sure all the ladies appreciated Dr. Steve’s hard work in the gym. Just my opinion but maybe he should ease off just a little bit, unless he’s competing for “Mr. Olympia” or something. To me, he’s ripped and definitely in great shape, but he also looks a bit stiff and unnatural.

Of course, if given the choice between his build and mine….

How much do you think Yankees tickets cost? On a cop’s salary? Dante and Lulu better be sure to take some tissue for the nosebleeds they're going to get when they reach their seats in the upper atmosphere as it is.

MiniMax should be taking Dante, Lulu, Michael, Abby, Kristina, and Molly. Maybe even Sonny! With Jax’s money, he can afford it. These kids need to start acting as rich as they are and quit worrying so much about things like jobs and college. It's not like they can't do anything they want to.
