Robin wants to be honest with Patrick.
Maxi owns up to being a mess in 2006.

Now that the ball in Time Square has dropped, Sonny tells his boys and Carly that his New Year's Resolution is to be the best father he can be. Carly agrees that she shares the same resolution, but adds that she also wants to be the best wife to Jax. Then, Carly and the boys leave a Happy New Year voicemail for Jax. Sonny overhears Carly telling him that she can't wait to elope when he returns.
At Patrick's place, Robin tells Patrick that she just saw fireworks and not the outdoors kind. Patrick is concerned that Robin is disappointed with no fancy, romantic party. She tells him that making love with someone you love in an empty apartment is about as romantic as it gets. He tells her that he's practical and December 31 is really just another day on the calendar. She tells him it's practical and honest. Robin resolves to be as honest with Patrick as he is with her. Then Robin mentions that "they" need a piece of art for the wall and what kind it should be.

At Kelly's, Maxi tells Lucky that she made a lot of mistakes in 2006. She tells him that he has an excuse for his bad choices, he was addicted to drugs. She admits that she was just a mess. He tells her that he loves Liz, but if he and Maxi had come together at a different time they might have had a chance together. Maxi tells him that she can't remember a time when she didn't want him.
Liz is lying unconscious in the snow, but she's having a hallucination of when her baby girl is born. In it, Kelly tells her that the new paternity test shows that Lucky is the father and she is very happy to hear that. Then she imagines bringing Cam and the baby into Kelly's and seeing Lucky making out with Maxi (who is holding a bag of pills).

At Jason's, Spinelli is spewing something about he and Jason are opposites, but the same. For one thing, they are both hot for Sam. Spinelli tries to enlist Jason's help in talking her out of her "Madison Avenue brainwashing" about babies "Make the Goddess think before she fulfills her biological imperative." He is banished to his room. After he's gone, Sam starts to apologize for talking about babies with Spinelli, but Jason stops her. He goes on to say that he has been afraid of bringing a child into an unstable situation. But, he now realizes that no parent can bring a child into a perfect life. "If you still want to, it would make me happy to have a child with you," he tells her. She wants to.

Nikolas and Emily are on a private plane on their way to Denver. They don't have a plan; he just can't wait around home any more. They decide to find baby stores in Denver and see if anyone has seen Colleen, but they don't want to admit that Spencer has been kidnapped.
Robin is going through catalogs and telling Patrick what kind of furniture she thinks he should buy. He tells her that she has better things to do than decorate his apartment. She tells him that if she doesn't help him get started, they will sleep on the air mattress and drink out of paper cups until next New Year's Eve. She admits that she and her roommates can't agree on decorating styles so she's looking forward to decorating his place. He clearly doesn't want her help and she gets defensive and tries to leave. Patrick tells Robin that he loves her, and asks what's going on with her? In the interest of honesty, she admits that she's a little freaked out. She admits that when he was stuck with a needle, he became vulnerable and they fell in love. With just a few weeks to go before his final HIV test, he could end up free from the scare of AIDS. She's worried that he might go back to being the carefree bachelor and that she'll just be the person who helped him get through his AIDS scare. "It would make me sad if the best news for you would be the end of us." He assures her that getting stuck with the needle didn't change him, she did.
Maxi tells Lucky that she was willing to give everything to him, but he wants Elizabeth – a woman who doesn't even understand him. Maxi admits that she was given her cousin's heart and now she doesn't know what to do with it. She talks about how her father left when she was little. Mac is proud of Robin and ashamed of her. Her mother is never around. Maxi relents that her family is beyond dysfunctional. Then Lucky reminds her that she just lost a baby, too.
Spinelli comes downstairs with an idea of how Sam can have a baby. He found one for her on the internet so she doesn't have to "bust up her hotness." It's a 6 year-old boy from Africa. He tells her she and other hot moms like Angelina Jolie and Madonna can hang out together. She tells him that she and Jason are going to try to conceive on their own.
Still lying unconscious in the snow, Liz is hallucinating again. This time she and Jason are curled up on the couch reading a story to Cam. She's big and pregnant and tells Jason that his "wife" is tired, so he picks her up to carry her to bed. In reality, Jason has found her in the snow and picking her up to take her to the hospital.
After Carly comes down from tucking the boys in, she gets Sonny his coat and tells him that he should leave now. Sonny asks her if she's set on eloping with Jax. "Pretty set", she says. He wants to know why they feel they need to run off. Carly says she's not coming up with excuses to avoid marrying Jax. He gives his word that if she marries Jax in Port Charles, he won't interfere. She doesn't believe or trust him, which is why she'll never come back to him – she points out.
As Maxi was starting to leave Kelly's she finds a stray dog. She and Lucky bring him inside and warm him up. Just then, Dr. Lee calls Lucky's cell phone and reports that Liz has had an accident. He leaves Maxi alone with the dog. She sits there and talks to him for a while. She says she needs to convince Lucky that he needs her, not Elizabeth.
Jason brings Liz to the hospital. After Dr. Lee brings her back from having tests, he talks to Liz even though she is still unconscious. He tells her that he was on his way to work when he found her. He starts talking about how strange life is, specifically, that he found her when she needs him and she saved him, twice, when he needed her. Just then Lucky came in and Kelly tells them both that Liz has a concussion and hypothermia, but the baby seems fine. Lucky thanks Jason for finding her. She starts to wake up and calls for Jason. When she realizes that Lucky is there too, she tells him how sorry she is.
Carly tells Sonny to go. He tells her that she is just trying to prove something. He admits that he is jealous, but that's not why he is objecting of her wedding to Jax. She tells him that they both need to learn when to let go. He moves in for a kiss. She lingers for a minute and then allows herself to kiss him. He's the one who ends the kiss and walks away.
On the plane, Emily and Nikolas are trying to decide their cover story. Nikolas wants to say he's Colleen's brother, but Emily says he can't play a middle class guy. She reminds him that he has a stable full of horses and drinks $100 bottles of wine like lemonade. Just then, the private investigator calls Nikolas and reports that Colleen had a grandmother in the Cherry Hills section of Denver.
Epiphany comes in to check Elizabeth and tells Lucky and Jason not to upset her as she starts to wake up. Lucky tells Elizabeth that she has nothing to be sorry for. She and their baby will be fine. Lucky tells her that they owe Jason – he saved her and the baby's life.
