Finally some new mobsters in town! Ava is indeed a Jerome, and was joined by thought-dead brother Julian who has more ties to the townies than ever imaginable. Friday's episode was a total shot in the arm, weaving all kinds of storylines together, answering tons of questions - hello Sam's dad? - and upping the ante on everything.
Morgan’s big mouth.
How convenient. Connie needed a scoop to save her publishing holdings, and Morgan delivered a great, big juicy one, literally right at her doorstep. Morgan has one of the biggest mouths in town, and paired with his uncanny ability to overhear the most incriminating conversations, he is a total liability to just about everyone, especially himself. On top of that, Morgan is a spoiled, entitled brat who expects to get whatever he wants no matter want, asking Sonny to just "let him have" Kiki and keep his secret. And Sonny agreed! Ugh! That was more about him proving his love to Morgan than doing what would really prove his love and help him reveal the truth to the woman he is supposed to love. When Sonny was making that deal with Morgan he didn’t even consider how Michael will react when he finds out he lied to him, willing to give up one son’s happiness for the other's. And Morgan rubbing his engagement in Michael’s face, demanding congratulations was so disgusting. He deserves for all this to blow up in his face. Sonny should just look at Connie going with the story as an easy out from a stupid commitment.
First up it was breakfast with Michael, and the shock of hearing about his attraction to his cousin Kiki really put Carly off those huevos rancheros. Then it was off to Sonny’s to bang her head against the wall about the impending nuptials. "So you want one of our sons - at 19 years old - to get married to stop our other son from committing incest? Are you listening to yourself?" Even Sonny had to take a drink after hearing that one.
It hit home this week how sad it is that Maxie has not been able to enjoy her pregnancy with anyone at all, unable to share the joys or help satisfy her cravings. That should be Spin arriving with her favorite chocolate peanut butter ice cream, not Lulu.
Thesis on evil.
Felix and Sabrina kicked their dirt digging into high gear at the same time Spin and Ellie did. Felix and Spin swapping Britt stories at Kelly’s was cute. Spin has been a little lost without Jason as well, so anytime he gets some guy time is good. Obrecht’s return and her pairing with Britt is genius. So over-the-top dysfunctional, Obrecht gives Britt the heart she has been missing by showing us how insane her childhood must have been. Let’s not forget that her daddy is Faison. Besides, Patrick and Sabrina are just boring. It’s really hard to get invested in this couple when we all know Robin is alive and captive somewhere. With Obrecht back on canvas and now Holly's return as well, the big reveal that Robin is still alive seems to be getting closer and closer.
Julian Jerome changes everything for just about everybody. Not only is he probably Sam's father, making him a possible match for Danny, but he has stake in the whole Kiki/Morgan mess in order to gain entry to the Corinthos family. Seems like Sonny's tune about Morgan's marriage might have to change quickly. He came to life talking about shutting down the Jeromes. Duke and Anna are all up in arms about the Jeromes too, so this reveal is certainly far reaching. Even Lucy will have to watch her back, but at least she is being looped in a plot that is more substantial than a non-starter spa. Between Julian and her one percent of ELQ, she is suddenly hot property in town. So what do you think is Julian's main motivation for coming back to town? Vote below or tell us your own theory in the comments.
The Davis girls bonded at the hospital and we didn't even really miss Kristina. Alexis really did her job as a mom this week, propping up first Molly, then Sam, when they needed an emotional boost. And she was even able to come up with a name for Sam's dad to boot!
Luke lives and has gotten into cahoots with Holly again. Their plan seems to be going along just fine so far. Of course Laura hasn't shown up yet.
