    Updated: April 4.

Look for Marcy Rylan to debut as Lulu on April 11.

    Original article: March 6.

Soap Opera Digest has confirmed that Marcy Rylan has been cast as Lulu Spencer on "General Hospital." She will be taking over the role since Julie Marie Berman decided to vacate it at the end of her contract. Rylan will be familiar to many Daytime viewers for playing Abby Newman, the naked heiress, on "Y&R." She has been in and out of Genoa City for the past few years and recently signed on to recur in the role. Previous to that, she played Lizzy Spaulding on the defunct CBS soap, "Guiding Light."

There has been no official statement about when she will start shooting material in Port Charles or finishing on "Y&R." Soaps.com will keep you updated as information becomes available.

I was very sad when my fave soap Guiding Light was canceled and i lost my soap family! I was so happy to see Marcy back as Abby on Y&R, and i LOVE her there. I'm sad to see her go of course, but I'm VERY happy once again to hear she will be on GH!! I wish her all the very best and look forward to a new and improved Lulu!!!

@BlazeDane - You said it best,Marcy was wonderful on GL and Y&R. Even though I don't watch GH, I'm sure she'll be a great addition to the show. Hope she continue to make movies from time to time. She was great in Bring It On:ALL OR NOTHING...Whitney was a piece of work.

Oh good, I look forward to her debut because that's the day I'm gonna stop watching.

Good luck to Julie, our departing Lulu, and welcome to Marcy, our arriving Lulu. Glad they recast the role instead of killing off a critical character, and I wish both women great success in their new roles.

I LOVE Marcy!!!!! Very sad to see her leave. She is so comical and a breathe of fresh air to characters who are so serious and uptight

I am sad to see Julie Berman leave the role as Lulu. She has "grown on me" throughout the years of watching. Of course, I only began watching G.H. in 2006 or 2007. I also am sad about the departure of Star, Todd & John. Star & Michael were such a darling couple. Star has such a unique perspective toward the life of crime of which she has been exposed. Her character contributes compassionate, broad-minded understanding of the healthy boundaries in those relationships; especially the Father/Daughter relationship. Of course, I realize their character was born on the One Life to Live Soap. Does that mean One Life to Live is returning? I heard there are plans to broadcast via the Internet. Personally, I prefer TV. Of course I understand ABC could care less about the viewer. Sad. ♥

I voted "other" because I feel ambivalent concerning Julies' departure. On the other hand, I am glad the character is not being "killed off". I would like to see the storyline of her marriage and potentially becoming a parent develops. Anxiously anticipating watching the storyline possibly allow Maxie reveal the truth and Lulu handling that truth in the compassionate and mature manner she seems to have developed. Here's Hoping! ♥

I have watched Y&R for 40 years but, as well as all the cast being thrown out maybe its time for me to move on as well. About the time we get use to someone, you have recasted. Leave it alone !!!
Our present Kyle and Abby are great, now switching again. I can't see how ratings can continue to stay up.

I will Marcy. She has provided alot of comic relief that Y&R seriously needs.
