
Former "General Hospital" Head Writer Norma Monty has passed away. She was hired as Head Writer by her sister Gloria, who was the Executive Producer at the time.
Monty wrote from February 1985 to December 1988 and then again from January 1991 until January 1992 with a frequently changing array of co-head writers. In her time with the series, she received three Daytime Emmy nominations and helped create the Luke and Laura supercouple. Her sister Gloria died in 2006.
According to Soaps In Depth, she died on July 3 at the age of 86 in Reno, NV. Soaps.com sends our condolences to her family and friends.
