GH Fan Alert - Cruise with Rick Springfield!

    Thursday, February 21 2008

    (Compliments of Rickspringfield.com)
    Updated on February 21, 2008!
The "Special Guests" for the Rick Springfield & Friends Cruise have been announced and you will be thrilled! Jackie Zeman (Bobbie Spencer), Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams from The Young and the Restless) and musician John Waite will be along for all of the fun.

Previously reported on January 31, 2008)

Don't reach for your credit card just yet, but Soaps.com just learned that a Rick Springfield fan cruise is in the works for fall of '08. The host ship will be Carnival's "Destiny" and ports of call will be lively Key West and lovely Cozumel, Mexico. In between, lucky fans will get to rock out to the music of General Hospital's Rick Springfield and his special musical guests (to be announced soon!). Don't expect to see the reserved neurosurgeon Dr. Noah Drake on that stage, however. Rick's concerts show the other side of him that GH fans haven't seen. Although last summer's rockin' Eli Love storyline (Noah Rocks!) gave us a sneak peak of Rick's love for performing.

    Noah can rock! (Soaps.com)
As Soaps.com discovered during Soap Cruise '07 (Soap Cruise Highlights), fan events aboard a cruise ship provide an intimate setting to hang out with some of our favorite actors. And Rick Springfield's Sun Dazed and Star-Filled Nights Cruise will be no exception. The lineup of activities is already being planned, including:

-Full concerts and unplugged sessions with Rick Springfield and his special guest stars.
    -Q&A and autograph events
-Four nights about Carnival's Destiny which includes movies, dancing, poolside deck activities and gourmet dining.

Sound good? Block off November 13 - 17 and keep your eyes on Soaps.com and/or Rick's site to see details as they unfold. This November promises a whole lot more than just turkeys and pumpkin pie, that is for certain!

I'm surprised Rick Springfield would choose to spend time with his fans. When my friend and I traveled to another city to see his concert, afterwards he was ignoring his fans and had no time for them at all ! He would run from the elevator to the bar/restaurant etc to avoid any contact with fans. He then and insist he be quarrantined off from "regular" people at the restaurant. She sent him a gift she had made for him and he promptly, rudely, tossed it to his "personal chef" who was travelling with him. When my friend saw him on a staircase and asked him why he was being unfair to his fans, he was rude and called her a "B " word. Needless to say, we are no longer fans of his !

(Sigh). Reading this I realized, that I really miss Dr. Noah Drake. Dr. Drake Jr. sure could use Dad right about now. I hope Noah and Anna ARE having 'headboard banging sex'!

To Mega fan...Im sorry you had a bad experience.I have been a fan since 1983 and seen him 27 times in concert. I have met Rick several times and he has been the nicest, sweetest man and usually takes great amounts of time with his fans. This man gives 110% to us. I have seen him when hes sick as a (working class)dog, with stitches in various places, and exhausted. Of course no one can be "ON" 24/7 so maybe you caught him at a bad time. We all have days where we want to be left alone. Maybe that was his.

Hey guys, I removed the personal email addresses for your own safety. Millions of people read Soaps.com and it's not a good idea to put your personal information out there for all to see. You could be spammed or at the very least, receive a lot of unwanted emails.

This should really truly be a fun event. I am sorry MegaGHFan had a bad experience with his fans (sadly, some can get carried away, but that is in all fandoms, not just Rick's) as generally, he is a very kind and considerate man to his fans.

Don't think I will be able to attend the cruise this time, but do hope for a West Coast port sometime in the future. I am sure all going will have a wonderful time, and I can't wait to read all about it and see the terRICKfic pictures I am sure are to come!
