Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

Thought I posted this earlier today.

Re: all of the Robin hoopla, my perspective is as one who was on a GH hiatus during her courtship, marriage and parenthood with Drake Jr. (ok, it WAS a long break!). So coming in cold and seeing them together post-abduction/faux death it strikes me that they have ZERO chemistry. Perhaps this is due to KM's limited emotional range.

In the two years since Robin's “death,” everything has come full circle – her survival, her captivity, her return, and now we're back to her departure. The similarities between the earlier storyline and the current one, both having Robin willingly sacrificing her life with Patrick and Emma in an attempt to save Jason, leads me to believe that what we are seeing is essentially ANOTHER do-over by the writing team.

The FIRST real do-over was when they said that Robin had improbably survived the lab explosion after all, and that it wasn't an accident, as it was originally written, but part of some mysterious plot. When almost everybody swallowed that gigantic whopper, I guess TPTB figured they could play fast and loose with just about anything, so after the Prospect Park debacle, they went on a revisionist history binge, starting with the return of the OLTL3, and then later when they changed Frodd's backstory for the third time.

It seems to me that this current storyline is how, in retrospect, TPTB wished they had written Robin's original exit, instead of killing her off so definitively, which forced them to come up with all those ludicrous plots to explain her long absence. Now, they've set it up where Robin's loyalties are again torn between her family and Jason, but now, choosing Jason will break up her marriage to Patrick, which will in turn, free Drake Jr. to pursue another romance, only this time around, without the audience knowing full well that he would drop anyone he's involved with to go back to Robin if she ever returned. That will no longer be the case, whether he gets back with Sabrina (the most likely scenario), or Liz, or Sam, or someone completely new.

To me, this storyline is the writers' way of admitting that it was a HUGE mistake to have killed off the character of Robin when they did, and in the way that they did, leaving Patrick's character in relationship limbo. Since they had to come up with yet another exit strategy for Robin anyway, it looks like they decided to hit the reset button to rectify their original mistake, and do it the way they should've done it the first time around.

Once she's finally gone, it will be like waking up from a two-year coma. I'll bet it won't take very long before things are back to the way they were before Robin's return. It will almost be as if she walked out on her family two years ago, and never came back. Then everyone can finally move on and never have to give her a second thought. Robin can simply fade from our memories, joining other obsolete characters like Bigfoot, Trey LeDouche, McBat, Starr, Todd, Casey the Alien, and Richard Simmons.

That will be a time to celebrate!

This is JMO of character traits of the different characters on GH.
No one has agree with me but it is how I see them .

Dante is loyal to a fault and doesn't break his loyalty easily.

Lulu is loyal to her self and her father and maybe her brother Lucky but that's about it.

Nick is always blinded by love and I'm not so sure that's a bad trait to have.

Britt will lie until the wheel falls off but I still like her for some reason.

Carly will always look for love and never quite get it in her grasp and when they really love her, like Jax, she will throw it away.

AJ is such a flawed a character and never believes in himself enough to stick it out when the going gets hard but I still love him for some reason and want him to see him succeed.

Robin character is loyal to a fault no matter how it hurts her family... In bygone days loyal to Stone and Sonny when Mac would rather put his eye out with a fork than have her loyal to these two men. Later on recently she was loyal to Jason putting her life on the line to get his cure And now loyal to him and his baby Danny. I heard what she said today "How could she live with herself knowing Danny's father was alive and not helping him to get back to his family." Robin knows Jason would do this for her no matter how it might hurt his own family and for that I can't fault her even though I'm not happy with this s/l. Robin and Jason are very much alike in this regard.

Patrick will either accept this or he won't. I do feel for Patrick as Jason T. Is such a great actor as Patrick, probably the best actor on GH, but his character has flaws as well like the affair with Lisa and not believing Robin before it was to late and not being able to make up his mind when Robin came back. At this point I don't care if they break up Robin and Patrick but I won't be watching any scenes with Sabrina and Patrick no passion there and anyway I don't like Sabrina.

Lovelymarlena--Excellent post!!! I agree with your assessments. So true for all characters. I too don't have any animosity nor love for Robin. She is who she is. Patrick, to me, needs to grow up. He's a little too needy for my taste.

Are y'all still getting the rain?

Lovelymarlena – Great post! Two quick points.

I agree that Jason would've sacrificed anything to save Robin, but we both know that he would also be the first one to tell Robin not to do this, especially if it's going to cause problems between her and her family.

Secondly, Patrick’s one night stand with Lisa could hardly be considered an affair. She got him drunk, and seduced him, ONCE, but after that moment of weakness, he rejected Lisa's advances, despite her incredible HAWTness. With the exception of that ONE night of their marriage, (for which Patrick has been paying the price for ever since), he's been an exemplary husband and father, and in my opinion, a much better husband to Robin than she's been a wife to him, Lisa or NO Lisa.

Right now, for all the good his loyalty to Robin had done for him, it seems to me that he would've been better off if he HAD dumped her for Lisa while she was in Africa the FIRST time she bailed on their marriage. Then Lisa wouldn't have gone on a rampage, and later gotten herself zombied out, and then killed on the Love Boat, and they probably would've never had to bring in Sabrina, and her Fairy Godmother, Felix.

I'd trade Felix, Sabrina, and Robin for Lisa any day of the week!

Thank you Bayou for your kind words. Is it warmer there in BR. We have had some rain but still need more.

Posted by bayoubtr at Tuesday, February 18 2014 08:16 PM

Lovelymarlena-- Yes, quite a bit warmer. Temps in the 50-60 range with a lot of fog. Wishing y'all more showers for your spring poppies!

Scrimmage thanks for your comments on my post only one thing we disagree on is having Patrick stay with Lisa. Not a fan of hers but if we could have a lady villain back, wait for your hair to be set on fire Scrimmage, bring back Claudia. Now there's a villain I can get behind. Right Poodles? We were always the ones to cheer on bringing her back.

As for the title of today's re-cap "Sleep Tight", judging by the way Julian & Ava toss back the toddies- I would guess they both sleep "tight" at night.

    Night All!
