THIS is the Patrick and Robin I remember. Contentious, combative, and on opposite sides of an issue with completely different points of view, and incompatible priorities. It sure didn't take long for them to fall back into old, familiar patterns. The idea that they ever had some idyllic period for any length of time throughout their entire stormy relationship is a myth! Nothing has ever come easy for this couple because – and I'm repeating myself – Robin is fundamentally incapable of being happy, and subconsciously looks for ways to sabotage her relationships HERSELF, before the people she loves can disappoint her, or leave her again. She's done it over and over in the past, and she's doing it again now.

It looks like Patrick remembers the “bad old days” all too well, including that today (Valentine's Day?) “just happened to be” the anniversary of Robin's “death” in the lab explosion, which is obviously STILL a very traumatic memory for him, despite knowing now that it was “somehow” all a trick. He finally said what he's never said before, at least to Robin, that he's always blamed, or perhaps resented her for going back in the lab to save Jason's cure, when she could've stayed with him and Emma. She made a deliberate decision back then, choosing Jason over her family, and it's the same choice she's making now. That scene was so powerful, I don't mind the heavy handed irony of the anniversary, or the striking similarities between the two situations.

Until now, Robin's choice in the lab explosion was the last in a long line of examples of how she would make life changing decisions completely on her own, without ever consulting Patrick, or considering his opinion or feelings. When people say that she's a “control freak,” it's that sort of behavior they're talking about. Robin will go to great lengths to avoid the kind of confrontation she was having with Patrick today after he practically FORCED her to tell him the truth. Robin kept pleading with her husband to “just TRUST me, I HAVE to do this,” and hoped he'd leave it at that. She's very uncomfortable allowing anyone else to have any input into her decision making process because it undermines her sense of being in control. Being honest and open minded is NOT how Robin likes to do things.

Sometimes she'll just hide the truth from Patrick until it's too late, like when she was pregnant with his baby, or when she thought she was dying, and other times she'll lie straight to his face, like she tried to do here. Usually, she just tells him that she's made a decision that's FINAL, with no discussion allowed, like the first time she announced she was going to run off to Africa.

Robin even plays mind games with herself, rationalizing her decisions like she was doing today, saying she was doing it to set an example for Emma, or for Sam and Danny. She even managed to ask Patrick, “What other choice do I have?” with a straight face, conveniently forgetting that she could easily call Anna, Robert, and Sonny, who should be told what's going on, and enlist their help in getting Jason back. Her dirty little secret is that she doesn't WANT any help. The idea of bringing Jason back from the dead all by herself is far too great a challenge for her enormous ego to resist, and the chance to gain control over life and death itself would be an irresistible temptation for someone with Robin's personality traits.

I think Patrick has finally had enough, and he's no longer willing to suffer in silence, and put up with “Robin being Robin.” When she leaves, I hope he makes it clear not only that he WON'T be waiting for her to come back, but also that he will file for divorce and request sole custody of Emma on the grounds of abandonment, and that if she ever does come back, that she'll no longer be welcome in his home. If Drake Jr. kicks Robin to the curb, I will be the first to stand and say “Bravo, sir!”

A man can only take so much.

First, I never said Emma would Hate her mother; just that she would be extremely angry with her; and if [when] Robin leaves, Emma will be very disappointed - and yes - angry.

As for Patrick, well I still see him calling Diane. I have to agree with Scrimmage that Robin puts whatever is on her mind over and above everyone else's feelings, especially her husband and daughter. And she Had to know that Patrick was going to be even more upset knowing that it's Jason she's going "to save". Robin suffer from that hero complex they've discussed on Criminal Minds. Usually the individual has to create the situation so they can play the hero. Robin just has to not turn them down. If I had been without my spouse and child for two years, the only way I would be leaving is if he was abusive. Of course, that's assuming that Robin even still loves Patrick, or that she ever did in the first place. And before everyone goes off on me, No I do NOT like Robin. But even if I did, I'd feel the same way about the actions she is taking now. Trust me, she's not the only person in the world who knows how to do research.

I know this whole Jason thing is just to transition Robin out for a while, but it's really ludicrous to expect the viewers to buy into any of it. Instead of dangling Jason in front of Robin, he could have dangled Faison in front of O'brecht for his little defrosting project.

The "he" I was referring to is Victor, sorry.

Britt was in collusion with her mother on stealing the embryos, so I have no doubt she knew they belonged to Dante and Lulu.

Sorry, I don't recall which person said it, but I totally agree that I would get a DNA test on Ben, Dante and Lulu.....AT ANOTHER FACILITY.....DEFINITELY NOT GH!!!

They should probably include Britch in on the DNA test to prove that she IS NOT A MATCH for Ben!

I really felt like yesterday's episode was the Friday cliffhanger, and that today's was the Monday follow up. Did anyone else get that impression?

Hey Ick! Was there a sale on turtleneck sweaters somewhere, or are you just hiding some hickeys?

I thought for a second there, Liz was going to catch hell for almost leaving without telling Dante and Nulu the “truth” about Ben, but fortunately for her, the Falconeris are easily distracted. Does Dante even remember he came home to tell Nulu that he just found out from Carly that her father is one of Heather's victims, and that he's been missing for days? Talk about Nulu getting it from all sides!

Someone mentioned that making the connection between Ben and the missing Oreos should be a “no-brainer” for Dante and Nulu. Luckily for Britt, that's exactly what they've got between them.

As for Nikolas' and Britt's engagement, I couldn't be more pleased, and I was especially glad that Liz saw with her own eyes that her plan to break them up failed miserably. I'm sure they'll have some rough times ahead, but they've been through worse, and I think that ultimately, they'll be very happy. Britt and Nikolas are perfect for each other, and I take a lot of pride in the fact that I said so days before they met on the 4th of July.

One marriage ends as another begins. It's the Cycle of Life, soap style!

And I guess Dante forgot all about Luke missing. Did he mention that to Lulu?

Oh I think Nik and Britt totally deserve one another. He is holier than thou and she is a bald-face liar. They should be very happy together.

My memory is likely faulty, but didn't Maxie know something about Britt's pregnancy but they were mutually blackmailing each other into silence? Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but it would be great if when Maxie comes back she takes one look at Ben and says "Lulu, that baby looks exactly like you!" and she is the one that gets them to consider ANOTHER DNA test, and she is hailed as a hero (and has Lulu's ever-lasting gratitude) rather than the town screw-up.
