Yes I am annoyed about not seeing GH but why kill innocent people especially children? But why is Katie on. God bless America!

ALL the networks covered the TRAGEDY all day. Not just ABC and because i'm not one the those "knuckleheads" running a multibillion dollar corporation I will leave it to them to know what they are doing.

Ttoyou was locked in her home all day, some families are mourning the death of their family members , people are have limbs amputated and we missed our soap.

This is what the news does, repeat for those that don't have the luxury of sitting by the TV all day.

I missed the show too but, really seems so trivial in the big picture.

    ******************OT************BREAKING NEWS************

ITA with all of you that have stated the networks can wait on giving us what they are reporting right now till the evening news! WHEN they find the guy...kill the POS...find others (if any)involved or that we need to be on the lookout for..something NEW..THEN interrupt regular scheduled programming! OH WELL....nothing we can do about it! GH is never going to be back on track days wise!

My heart breaks for the family of the officer from MIT that was brutally murdered by these POS(s)& the other officer that was badly wounded that just came out of surgery a little while ago & of course the families of the victims from Monday!!! My DEAR GOD PLEASE BLESS THEM ALL...PLEASE BLESS BOSTON... MASSACHUSETTS...& AMERICA!!! IN JESUS' BLESSED NAME AMEN

why oh why are the news media interviewing all these family members of the suspects.

have the police had the opportunity to question all of them?

will it taint the case if it goes to trial.

everyone is so busy trying to pre-empt another station that they may be compromising the case JMO

OT: @rans Thank you! I pray for those in Boston who have been injured and lost loved ones to this senseless tragedy. I say losing GH for a day is a minor inconvenience to what the citizens of Boston are going thru right now.

Rans...I agree that missing our soap is trivial to what the people of Boston & the victims & their families are going through & my heart truly breaks for them! but, I don't get to watch tv all day...all I am saying is what I heard on my tv at 4pm was the exact same thing that I heard at 6am...& there's always CNN if you want to catch up on the news 24/7....just disrespect to the victims & their families! May GOD Bless You All!

I would remind customers of DirecTV to MANUALLY set your DVR to record Monday's episode of GH. The last couple of times the show got pre-empted (Newtown, the Pope), I'm pretty sure they didn't change the digital broadcast ID of the show, which includes the intended air date, and many DVRs failed to recognize it, since its date had already passed. I have mine set to record both first run AND repeat episodes of GH, but it still failed to record the postponed broadcast.

    Better safe than sorry.

At this rate, we'll be seeing Friday cliffhangers on Tuesdays for a while. Then again, if they pre-emp GH three more times, they'll be back on schedule, but I'm certainly not wishing for more disasters. Let's see... what would work?

They could interrupt the show to bring us live coverage of a knock down, drag out catfight between Kim Kardashian and Lindsey Lohan, and their mothers at a restaurant somewhere in Hollywood. The cops were called, but they aren't in any hurry to break it up. That's one down.

Of course they'd have to pre-emp the show for Honey Boo-boo's retirement press conference now that her fifteen minutes of fame are up. That's two.

And of course it would be breaking news world wide when North Korea appoints Dennis Rodman as its Ambassador to the United States. That's three!

I can understand interrupting GH for an update in the news, but why air the Chew in GH's time slot ? If The Chew is bumped then ok, it can be aired at a later date. Why is it that when GH is bumped it is not aired right after the news update-- just like the Chew was aired today. I like the Chew, but fair is fair. And since the news update was not anything critical, why not air it during Katie C show--it's not that good & since Katie is from the news realm, she would understand, right?

maja: Thank YOU, knew my opinion would not be a popular one!

SouthGA: I don't know why the networks broadcast this way. I would guess it has to do with local vs national spots that they sell. Make goods that the local affiliates are responsible for. I'm sure there's a method to their madness.

But, after reading about a young married couple that both had a leg amputated, a first grade little dancer losing a leg, another young man that lost both legs and as soon as he woke from surgery, too weak to speak , wrote down everything he saw to help the police.
Then I check the site and see how inconvenienced and upset people are and it just makes me really sad.
