    ***off topic NFL***

Another great day for a football fan. Atlanta put on an absolute clinic in the first half of their game against Seattle, but the Seahawks dominated in the second half, taking the lead with seconds to go in the game, but leaving just enough time for the Falcons to drive down the field to kick the winning field goal. What a dramatic finish, and what great teams! It was nice to see the long suffering Atlanta fans get to go home happy after a playoff game for a change, and who would've thought at the beginning of the year that the Seahawks would even get this far? Both of these young and talented teams will be contending for years to come.

I was hoping for an upset in the Patriots / Texans game, but New England is tough to beat at home under any circumstances, and especially in the post-season. Unfortunately for Houston, once again they are one and done in the playoffs, and this was a year when they seemed like the best team in the league early on. They didn't play badly, they just couldn't match Tom Brady's precision, either defensively, or offensively. He sliced up the Texans' secondary like a sushi chef at Benihana. Houston has some young stars on both sides of the ball, but they have some age at critical positions too. You've got to wonder how much longer this team's window will be open, and how much more patience the ownership will have with the current coaching staff and quarterback.

Next Sunday, the Conference Championship round, with San Francisco facing Atlanta, and New England in a rematch against Baltimore, should be very exciting. I'm pulling for Baltimore for sure, and I think Atlanta, because I don't want to endure two weeks of Superbowl hype all about the Harbaugh brothers instead of the players. Of course, if the Ravens and Falcons do advance to the Superbowl, we'll hear so many stories of how it's the last game Ray Lewis and Tony Gonzales, that it'll be a wonder they don't let Beyonce induct them both into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at halftime.

Rainey-- Ravens all the way! If the Ravens get to N.O., I'll celebrate south LA style. Crab cakes & champagne!

I'm going to be real unpopular here and say YEA! For the Patriots win. They are my husband's team and in the mean time my team the Jets can't win even half of their regular season games let alone get to the playoffs. I'm very happy the Patriots and Tom Brady, who by the way played a brilliant game, won and deservedly so.

I am sorry the Seahawks, my daughters team, lost but they will certainly be a force to deal with next year.

    Anyway Go Patriots!

For fans of OLTL, the new head writers have been announced. Susie Bedsow Horgan and Thom Racina will be taking over the roles. I'm getting excited.

For AMC, Marlene McPherson is head writer.

bayou, I sure am ready. I'm watching here at work and will go to a few matches during the week and the weekend.

Whenever I see the Aus Open cars around the city, I always peek in to see which player is inside. Their luxury hotel is about a block from my office.

Aussie-- Hope you enjoy the Open! Give us the news! It's been so long since I've even known who's playing.

Aussie-- Don't really care for Djokovic. But since you said my Rafa isn't playing, then I really don't have a dog in this fight. Hope you enjoy!
