    So You’re Psychic Now?

    Thursday, October 11 2012
Olivia sees Heather, Todd and Tea look for the baby, and Luke and Duke are at odds over Anna.

In her motel room, Heather assures the baby that Uncle Todd is going to help them. He has to show up if he wants to keep Tea from finding out she was not his real mommy. Slowly, Heather begins to worry Todd has developed a conscience and is double crossing her. She is worried about getting the medicine. Should they go get it or wait for Todd?

Luke gets out of the shower in his suite and is bummed Duke is still hanging around. Duke apologizes for the timing, but he and Anna have something real. He is not ever going to give that up. Luke has a problem with that and demands an explanation of where Duke has been. Luke accuses him of running a scam. It takes a con to see a con. Duke assures Luke that he and Anna are soul mates. Didn’t he have a great love once in Laura? That is like Anna to him. So why doesn’t he go chase after Laura and leave him and Anna alone? Luke ushers Duke out and tells him the best man will win. Duke thinks he has already won, Luke just doesn’t know it yet.

John tells Anna in her office that Heather is in Port Charles looking for help. They agree she will turn to Todd so Anna sets up taps on Todd’s phones. She wishes she had done it hours ago. John pressures her about what happened after she went home to sleep. She had a visit from her supposedly dead husband. She tells about Duke’s return. John is a bit doubtful, but Anna is sure it is him. John encourages her to find out for sure that Duke is who he says he is. They get a tip that Heather reached out to Todd and they make tracks.

Tea arrives at Todd’s door and throws herself in his arms. She is hysterical because Heather has her son. Todd saved him the night he was born and maybe he can help her now. She can’t calm down. Todd has something to tell her. He sometimes does things with the best of intentions, and he specifically tried to not hurt Tea, but he has an unfortunate association with Heather. Tea loses it again and leaves to splash water on her face. Meanwhile, Todd struggles with what to do. Tea comes out and he pretends he is on the phone getting breaking news. He knows where Heather is! He stops Tea from calling the cops but she refuses to let him go alone.

Anna and John bust into Heather’s motel room, but it is empty except for baby items. Anna calls it in and is pretty sure Heather intends to come back. John thinks it may be a diversion and Heather is going to be anywhere. The door opens and Anna pulls a gun on the opening door, but it is Tea and Todd. Tea freaks out – where is her baby? John eyes Todd and asks how he found out about the hotel. Tea wonders what the hell is going on. Is Todd going to tell her, or should John?

Olivia and Dante are waiting to hear how Steve is doing in a hospital room. Dante assures her Steve will be fine then goes back to work. Later, Heather, wearing scrubs, walks in on Olivia and locks the door. Olivia screams at the psycho to get away from her but it is really Epiphany. Olivia realizes it is just Epiphany and tries to explain her psychic visions. Does Olivia think she is psychic now? She just wanted to let her know the labs were delayed.

At the hospital Jason promises Sam that they will get her baby back. She is worried the baby needs his medicine. She doesn’t even remember what he looks. Jason spots Dante and leaves her for a moment. He returns with pictures of the baby the PCPD has on file for ID purposes. They marvel at the pictures. Tea must be in agony worrying about him. Jason wants to concentrate on the good news, that her son has been loved his whole life. Dante returns with a lead on Heather’s location. Then, Epiphany comes up and tells Dante about Olivia’s episode. Sam and Jason sit on the stairs while Dante goes to Olivia’s room. It is empty.

Heather arrives at the hospital and panics when she sees Sam and Jason. She takes the baby into a stairwell and runs into Olivia, where the two struggle. Heather pushes Olivia down the stars. Outside, Jason and Sam hear a thud. They find Olivia and Sam runs off after Heather. Dante comes up and stays with Olivia. Jason and Sam catch up with Heather on the roof.

Tomorrow’s Port Charles spoilers for General Hospital:

Tracy tells Luke, "He has competition." Luke replies, "With a cadaver."

John asks Todd, "Are you going to tell her or should I?" Tea demands, "Tell me what?"

Olivia yells to Epihany, "I was right. Heather Webber is here in the hospital!"

Sam begs Heather, "He belongs with his mother." Heather replies, "Then he is literally in the right hands."

I feel your pain. That's the problem with trying to write a plot for a supposedly “evil genius,” when the writer is neither evil, nor a genius. In a novel, a movie, or even a prime time TV show with a defined story arc, the writer can SEEM like a genius because he generally knows what he has in mind for the end result, and can write “backwards” from there. That's not always possible in an open ended format like a daily soap, but that's due more to the lack of a long term plan by the writers than the limitations of the genre.

Some more examples of disjointed plots which seem to have been written as they went along, with poorly definded motivations behind them, gaping holes in logic, and completely lacking in any common sense are:

    1. Trevor Lansing and his Toxic Balls.

    2. Jerry Jax spending a small fortune poisoning a whole town just to raise some money when his brother is a Billionaire.

    3. When Brenda returned, it was said that her life was being threatened by “The Balkan,” an Eastern European crimelord who dealt in conflict diamonds and child slave labor, but the writers had no idea then that months later the Balkan would turn out to be a well dressed, high powered, hypochondriac New York lawyer named Theo, whose son was killed by Brenda and Dante. That made the original concept of the villian pointless.

    4. At the time of the lab accident, the writers weren't even sure if Robin was really going to be killed off or not, much less that it was going to be Duke Lavatory, Jerry, and Dr. Bigfoot behind the explosion.

    5. And the most notorious of all, Jerry holding an entire hotel hostage just to retrieve a briefcase that was destroyed before anyone ever learned what was in it, or why he wanted it.

It makes one wonder if the show really IS being written by a bunch of monkeys in a room full of typewriters.

I've never been around the mother of a missing child, but even so, Tea seemed a little over the top with her motor mouth hysterics. Of course Sam was also showing her usual conflicted emotions too. I swear “What if...” is going to be carved on her headstone if it's not already tattooed on her tongue.

Anna and McBat are right. There are enormous, Mack truck sized holes not only in Duke's story, but in the REST of the story that he hasn't mentioned. Even Duke Lavatory sounded like he didn't believe it himself when he said to Luke “What is this; some kind of elaborate scam?” as if no one would be stupid enough to be doing what we know he IS doing. Well, it's elaborate all right, and it's a scam for sure, but it's going to be hard to figure out because there's no logic to it.

With Luke on the job, and with McBat keeping Anna focused, I hope they get to the bottom of this sooner than later, before Anna does something she'll regret. Damn, she looks good. I can't blame Duke for trying, but his technique needs a lot of work.

What a scene stealer that Stud Muffin is! Baby “Victor” Daniel Edward Cheeto Delgado Morgan is a heart breaker even in still pictures. He even has that piercing, steely gaze with those big blue eyes. An action hero in the making for sure.

I can't believe Heather walked into GH, where she's known on sight without so much as her hair pulled back or a pair of fake glasses. What is she, CRAZY?

    Hello all:

Todd is somehow related to Johnny, if not by blood then by nature. Both should be sentenced to a life of togetherness. Tea is going to skin him alive when everything comes out. I totally forgot how much a screecher Tea is; my ears really suffered today.

Question of the day, was Tea bullying Todd when she grabbed him by the collar? Hmm, will be interesting to read everyone’s take on that scene.

Luke is nobody’s fool and I am glad that he is not buying that half baked story that Puke is selling. Luke showed his smarts by ferreting out that Puke’s lie is opt to bring more pay off than the actual truth. Now Luke needs to dig around and call in some favors from his shady connections (he is bound to have a lot of those) to see what he can find out. A call to Robert wouldn’t go amiss either.

Even John picked up on the absurdness of the similarities with the names on GH. I am curious to se how Todd is going to attempt to wriggle out of John’s direct questioning especially with Tea standing right there.

That was so sweet how Jason obtained the pics of baby Cheeto so that Sam could see what her baby looks like. This was the first time that I heard him refer to the baby as his nephew and the fact that he did it so naturally and without any awkwardness or hesitation indicates that his brain cells are rightly aligned again. I

loved how joyous Sam was over seeing her baby and that she was able to share in that joy with Jason. What iced everything for me was that although Sam was floored to see her baby and was bubbling with anticipation of seeing and holding him in flesh, she didn’t for one moment forget about Tea and how it is going to feel when she discover everything out.

Scrimmage- I think they can have an entire separate soap solly derived from the number of failed s/l they have had onthis show in the last decade. I vote for a new category in the daytime Emmy’s for the worst/porly written s/l.
Baby Cheeto is indeed a stud muffin. I had to chuckle when I read his entire name- you forgot to add Manning to the list.

Wait a minute, I thought that the other day Dante and Steve had reached the conclusion that there was something to Olivia’s vision and that they are not ordinary hallucinations. Was I mistaken in that?

Love me some Epiphany. She always deliver something special no matter how short her scenes are.

Girlinthewind - regarding yesterday's post. Duck! I just threw one of those shoes! LOL

Straighttalker - Did Tea ruff up Todd? He deserves worse - just leave his vocal chords intact because he has the funniest one-liners.

    Hi everyone,

I haven't read the recap yet, but I would title this day with Luke's best line to Duke: "The lie will get you more than the truth". If this is the real Duke Lavery, he's become so damaged by whatever happened in past that nothing short of reprogramming will make him an acceptable "husband" for Anna, especially not his unending "she's my wife" mantra. Aside from the fact that he's keeping Robin from her family, this Duke is so filled with cruelty and resentment that he belongs at Wyndemere skulking the tunnels. I'm betting that's where he's going to end up holding Anna hostage. He seems to know very much about Anna's relationships since he was imprisoned. I was surprised he didn't bring up her fling with Eli Love. I have to again say I can't until he meets McBat. In any case, Luke's bringing his A game now and even if Anna would ask him to step aside, there's no doubt in my mind that he'll agree. If not for himself, then as stand in for his best friend.

Again with the plot teasing...I have to say Todd does a great Hamlet impression, but I'm not sure I understood the handstand. Is he going to try out for DWTS if his new start in PC goes down in flames? He did give Tea some great advice when he told her, in so many words, to tone it down. I thoroughly enjoyed the look McBat shot him at the motel as if to say, "You're not fooling me". Perhaps Olivia will get a look at his truth, unless that blow to the head she suffered takes away her gift.

Hi everyone funny line today came from John, saying Luke, Duke..lol . Yes we do have a couple ryming names another is Sinelli, Ellie.
Tea was not over the top with her crying as she was a mother crying for her child who was kidnapped. Oh I wanted Todd to tell her the truth.

I agree with Scrimmage and StraightTalker about the absurd story line so far regarding Duke and his abduction of Robin. I really hope we are wrong and the writing weave an intricate tale of how all of these characters are bound together.

Here is my attempt to channel Scrimmage ...... *** OT ****

Perhaps Duke was held in a Turkish prison and learned of some great medical voodoo to make him a great healer. Jerry Jax, desperate for a cure to whatever ails him heard of Duke and broke him out of the Turkish prison so he could help him. The two became friends and talked about their lives ... discovering a common link in Port Charles.

Duke had always been thinking of his true love Anna. When he heard of Robin's HIV he decided he must cure her and that would surely win Anna back for him. But did he have this skill? This became Jerry's payment for his cure. He had to bring him Robin so he could test his magical powers.

Jerry, being an idiot, enlisted help from Ewan. He had the connections at the hospital to make it possible. Unfortunately he was a total incompetent and ended up causing more harm to Robin; making Duke's job even more difficult. When Jerry proved himself to be egotistical, greedy, and an overall failure, Duke dropped all connection to him.

Now he must find a brilliant doctor who can help him and not ask questions. He only knows of one, but he was once married to his true love Anna. So he must leave this doctor to work on Robin while he returns to Port Charles to re-win the heart of Anna. All the while, praying that the famous Dr. David Hayward can bring sweet Robin back home.

    Or something like that ....

Why do people always think it is cute to have a babies picture taken with a paciffer in their mouth. The sucky thing is only to be used to keep the baby from crying...sigh. The picture Sam looked at and said the baby had a cute smile, the baby was not smiling. The day Heather had the baby I seen the baby smile and yes so cute.
