Molly is the daughter of Rick Lansing and Alexis Davis, who was born in 2005 in a tunnel following a train crash involving many Port Charles residents.
Her parents divorced years later, with her father winning custody. However, Alexis and Ric eventually worked things out and agreed on joint custody.
Molly was SORASed after Ric left town to live in L.A. Molly has revealed herself to be a very smart young girl with a penchant for math. TJ gifts Molly and Shawn some PCU gear at Kelly’s, then ribs Shawn about his secret girlfriend. He thinks it’s time Shawn tells them who the lucky lady is. Shawn takes a call while Molly realizes she isn’t feeling well and decides to go home. TJ bothers Shawn for more information. Shawn hates sneaking around on TJ and tells him the truth, that he’s been seeing Jordan. TJ’s shocked and worries about the fact they work for different mob bosses. But TJ accepts it and is glad Shawn told him. Meanwhile, Ned and Olivia have lunch outside, but she can’t eat because she’s so worried about Dante and Lulu. Ned tells her to lean on her faith, and strokes her hand. She decides to relieve Sonny of babysitting duties and thanks Ned for being such a good friend. He stares after her when she leaves. Alexis runs into Ned and they talk about how worried Olivia is. Ned wishes he could do more to help Olivia and admits to Alexis they have been spending more time together lately. When he confirms they are just friends, Alexis asks him out. She needs a nice new man and despite their checkered past they’ve always been friends. Ned has always considered her challenging and agrees to give it another go. He has no problem letting her use him to get over yet another gangster.
Molly enters Sam’s penthouse and is upset to see Julian. She blames him for putting their whole family in danger and telling the cops Ric was a mobster. Julian never wanted Ric dead or for Molly to suffer. Molly reads Ric’s final letter aloud to Julian and asks Julian to make things right and prove himself to his family. She begs him to tell her if Ric was innocent. Alexis returns before Julian can say anything and Molly runs off. Julian tells Alexis he wants to work it out but she tells him they are over and she has a date to get ready for.
Kiki brings Alice dinner in her hospital room. Alice isn't hungry. Tracy takes Kiki to apologize for not listening to her about Luke. Ned and the Corinthos boys walk in an announce the latest heart is not viable. "It's the last round," Alice announces. She thinks they need to say their goodbyes. The greatest pleasure of her life has been taking care of the Quartermaines. Selma Diamond stumbles in. She's heard about the heart situation and wants Alice to have her brother's. Everyone is thrilled and thanks her. Alice promises to live up to the gift. The brothers take Selma down the hall to fill out the paperwork. Down the hall, Nina wheels by the nurses' station and chats with Silas. She says she'll be walking again in no time. They joke about her culinary skills. Molly pops up and chats to Silas about what's been going on lately. Nina wheels away. Molly wonders if there is any hope for the doctor and Sam. He doesn't think it's in the stars. As they discuss Rafe, she flashes back to the night of the crash and remembers Rafe saying the crash wasn't an accident. He was forced to do it. Silas wonders who would do that. Meanwhile, Sonny sits outside of the hospital making calls when Carly approaches him. They chat about Alice and then his problems with his sons. She takes his hand. Nina watches them from a doorway. The mobster talks about how repetitive his life is and then he accuses her of lying to herself about Franco. He grabs her face and starts kissing her. She pulls away and says that was wrong. Sonny laughs when she says she loves Franco. He admits he just saw Olivia kissing Ned. Carly tells him about Joss hiding Spencer and repeats that she is committed to Franco. Nina wheels back down to Silas and Molly. They tell her what they have been discussing. And Selma heads out of the hospital to meet Sonny. She thanks him for the fake ID and he pays her off. "This was a good thing you did," she says.
