OLIVIA FALCONERI'S HISTORY

Olivia and cousin Connie grew up like sisters in Bensonhurst, New York. In high school, Olivia dated Sonny Corinthos, but eventually lost him to his true love, Connie. After High School, Connie changed her identity and moved to Manhattan to make a new start. Olivia and the rest of the Falconeri family were hurt and angry.

Years later, Sonny reached out to Olivia and invited her to his wedding to Connie, who was now going by the name Kate Howard. Olivia came to Port Charles and helped her cousin get ready for her wedding. They had their first of many fights on Kate's wedding day about her denying who she really was by changing her name. Connie never married Sonny due to her being shot. Olivia stayed by her side until she recuperated and got a job as the manager of the Metro Court.

Olivia and Kate remained on strained terms, but Olivia also found herself drawn to Sonny. Nothing ever came from their renewed flirtation, as Olivia began a steamy affair with the much younger Johnny Zacchara and she was keeping a huge secret: She got pregnant by Sonny when she 16 years old and never told him about it. She kept her baby, who turned out to be undercover cop Dante Falconeri, who was posing as Dominic Perelli, who was infiltrating Sonny's organization.

Only Kate knew about Dante (and Patrick Drake after Kate let it slip) until Sonny shot Dante after finding out he was cop. Olivia found her son in a pool of blood and screamed at Sonny that he just shot his own son. Dante recuperated of course and Sonny tried to form a relationship with him. Olivia largely stayed out of it and focused on her relationship with Johnny.

Considering their age difference and Johnny's line of work (mobster), the two eventually broke up. Olivia began a flirtation with Dr. Steve Webber, who tended to her when she became seriously injured on the hospital sponsored ski trip they were chaperoning. The bus crashed leaving Olivia with internal injuries. Once brought to the hospital, Patrick operated on her and she survived.

Olivia and Steve began a full fledged relationship, but it became apparent he was hiding something. The arrival of Steve's ex from Memphis, Maggie, only deepened the mystery. It came out Steve pulled the plug on a felon who was in his care so one of Maggie's patients could receive his organs. Olivia stood by her man and tried to get Johnny, who was blackmailing Steve, to back off.

During the same time, Olivia had to deal with Steve's crazy mother Heather who had returned and her unraveling cousin Kate, who developed a split personality Connie.
