At the station Sam and Jax explain the significance of the dead man’s hand in the Jacks family to McBain. John Jacks acquired the actual cards, possibly in a card game, and thought they brought him luck. John credited those cards with every good thing that happened to him. Meanwhile, Todd visits Jerry in his cell and wants to negotiate. Jerry gives him his figure of $88,111,000 and tells him about the dead man’s hand, how it was stolen from their father. Todd starts coughing and Jerry tells him he better raise a lot of cash. Todd assures him he will get him his money. McBain, Jax and Sam arrive and McBain tells Todd to leave. Alone with Jerry, Jax assures him that their dad loved him but Jerry knows he loved Jax more. Jax was not supposed to know how bad John was. Jax yells that Jerry could have come to his deathbed but Jerry screams that he was there. Jax remembers back to that time. He asked Ewen to help his father hold out hope while he searched for the cards. Jax thinks he and Jerry could have found the cards together. Jerry asks why would he do that when he stole the cards in the first place? He also had the help of AJ Quartermaine. Jax insists John lost his will to live because of Jerry. Jerry tells him Ewen is the one who killed their father. Meanwhile, Todd wants to pay Jerry but John thinks that could cause copycat terrorism. By now all three are exhibiting symptoms. Todd leaves and Sam asks John if he can find the counteragent. He tells her it depends – does she know where the cards are?
Alexis meets Jerry in his cell. If he cares about her, he will take care of the people she cares about. She asks what he wants to get the counteragent for everyone. He wonders if that includes having one more night with her and she agrees, if it means saving her children. He tells her he can’t deliver the counteragent just for that. He wants a lot of money.
Todd arrives at PCPD and bribes a cop to see Jerry. He tells Jerry they have some business to discuss.
At the cable station, Jerry is shocked when Jax walks in – he was supposed to be grounded in Shanghai. Jax wants to hear it is all a bluff, but Jerry assures him it is real. Jax thinks Jerry is desperate and wants to know what he wants. Jason asks if he worked with Ewen or Joe Scully but Jerry denies both. Jax can tell he is lying. John and the cops take Jerry in and Jax tells Jason the name Keenan sounds familiar.
Dante tells the cops at PCPD they need to work hard to prevent a riot. Sonny wants to help. Dante tells him that McBain and Jason have Jerry at gunpoint and they are testing the reservoir to see if the threat is real. Sonny can get his guys out to a local market to keep order. Dante appreciates the offer, but can’t have him take matters into his own hands. Sonny tells Dante that Joe Jr. is also out and he doesn’t know what he has planned. Later, they bring Jerry in and Jason tells Jax about Keenan. Jax can’t place the name. Jerry thinks they will be more receptive to negotiate the next morning.
On the airwaves, Jerry tells the town that he has been keeping a secret. He made Alexis and Josslyn sick, but their suffering was worth what is about to come. With the help of an associate, he was inoculating them, but the rest of Port Charles won’t be so lucky. At 2:00 AM that morning he introduced a deadly pathogen into the water supply. Any who has contact with the water will start feeling the effects in 24-48 hours, and shortly after that will be dead. There is an antibiotic serum, but it is very expensive. He is interrupted and leaves the town hanging.
John shows up at the station and puts a gun to Jerry’s head. Then, Jason shows up with a gun. Jerry knows they can’t kill him because he is the only one with the antidote. Jason beats Jerry up but Jerry just taunts them – they won’t get him to talk. Jax walks in and thinks he can get him to talk.
In his hotel room, Jerry tells Joe that dirty water kills more children than many other diseases combined. People here take water for granted – they drink it, bathe in it and play in it without a second thought. Today is a good day to be away from PC. Jerry leaves to tie up loose ends. Joe leaves a message for Trey to stay in Vegas. Then, Tracy arrives with a new white shirt. He invites her in and tells her he is an antiques dealer. There is a lot of tasteless crap out there – he values exquisite detail of a genuine classic. The sexual tension is thick and they have sex. Afterward, he tells her he wants to get to know her better unless there is another man in her life. She is glad he brought that up – there isn’t. They order room service and turn on the television.
Carly visits a shirtless Todd’s hotel room and tells him her husband is there with her and Joss. He thinks she is talking about Johnny, but she reminds him about Jax. He remembers – the greatest guy who ever lived. She tells him he slept on the couch and when pressed, she has no idea why she told him that. He tells her to dump Johnny. She informs him that Johnny doesn’t know and he wants to be there when Johnny finds out so he can see his face. He doesn’t think either one is right for her but he can be a good listener. She leaves and Jerry soon arrives. He introduces himself as James Craig and wants to buy his cable company. Todd asks him to leave, but Jerry pulls out a briefcase of cash and tells him it is paid for up front, in full and assumes they have a deal. Later, Todd counts the money and turns on the television to see what he just sold.
Jerry interrupts everyone’s signals and introduces himself. He has a secret to share with them
