Current: Operating nurse at General Hospital
Current: Part owner of Kelly's Restaurant
Past: Prostitute (Prior to her 1977 arrival in Port Charles)
Bobbie Spencer came to Port Charles to pursue her nursing career. A former prostitute, she had given up a child to adoption. Scott Baldwin was the first man to attract her, but he was in love with Laura Webber. Bobbie turned to her brother Luke to help break them up, but when the plan failed, Bobbie pretended to be pregnant with Scotty's child. Her ploy didn't work, and Scotty ended up marrying Laura.
Bobbie's next love interest was Roy DiLucca, a mobster and Luke's partner. He died in her arms after being shot in an attempted assassination of a senator.
In order to attract her next love interest, Dr. Noah Drake, Bobbie pretended to be blind. The handsome doctor made it clear that he was not interested in commitment, and Bobbie rushed headlong into an abusive marriage with D.L. Brock. He was murdered, and although Bobbie was accused, her innocence was proven by attorney, Jake Meyer.
Bobbie married Jake, who later cheated with Lucy Coe. Lucy became pregnant but lost the baby. Jake left town, leaving a letter of explanation for Bobbie, but Scotty destroyed it because his own marriage had failed, and he had his eye on Bobbie.
In 1989, Bobbie married Dr. Tony Jones, discovered relatives she didn't know she had, tried to purchase a black-market baby, had to return it, and ultimately ended up with the child. She struck up a postal affair with a convict, who later escaped, and held her and Tony hostage, while trying to rape Bobbie.
The death of BJ, Bobbie and Tony's daughter, resulted in a much-needed heart-transplant for Maxie. Despite the positive outcome, the trauma of losing a child took a toll on their marriage, and Tony threw Bobbie out when she consummated her affair with Damian Smith. After Damian's untimely death, Bobbie and Tony found their way back to each other again, but even with counseling, their marriage continued to be strained.
At that time, a young woman named, Carly Roberts came to Port Charles, and Tony was ripe for the picking. Bobbie had no idea that Carly was the child she had given up for adoption, and that the young woman had a personal score to settle. When Bobbie found Carly and Tony in bed together, she ended the marriage and turned to Stefan Cassadine. It wasn't long before she realized she had made yet another mistake. The biggest shock was finding out that Carly was her daughter.
When Carly gave birth to the child that was supposedly Tony's, Bobbie was greatly relieved to learn that Tony was not the father of her first grandchild. However, a continuing string of bad romances, including a brief fling with Scotty Baldwin and his faked death, made Bobbie older and wiser.
She got over being angry at Luke for having known Carly's secret all along, and had to suffer the fear that she'd lost her daughter again, but in a car accident this time. The near-death experience only strengthened the mother and daughter relationship.
Bobbie's fear that John Durant was Carly's biological father proved true, and although Bobbie tried to keep his identity secret, it soon leaked out. Durant died at the hand of the mob but not before he convinced Carly that he really loved her despite all his underhanded dealings to try to bring down her husband, Sonny.
In 2006, a plague hit Port Charles, and Bobbie was devastated when her previous husband, Tony Jones, was one of the fatalities. They shared a special bond.
Bobbie's been a colorful character. Between having a gay son, a daughter who married not one, but two mobsters, and having lived herself through a string of failed marriages, bad choices and unwise actions, she's created a lot of excitement on GH over the years. These days, she's not on camera often, but is mentioned when she's babysitting Morgan or popping up at the hospital.

At his birthday dinner at the Metro Court, Franco thanks Carly for all she has done for him and wants her to know in front of everyone how he really feels, deep down. He brings Bobbie into it and says it was because of her that he apologized to Carly about Sonny. But the person most affected by what he has to say is Michael. He knows Michael wants his mom to be with Sonny but he suspects one day soon his attitude will change. Carly tries to move things along so Franco wraps it up – and asks Carly to marry him. He has no ring, but promises to get the perfect symbol of his feelings. She tells him this is crazy and he asks if Sonny is why she’s hesitating. She says yes and hugs Franco. Scott lifts his glass to congratulate his son and Carly, while Kiki demands answers from Franco. He knows Carly’s done with Sonny and he really loves her, so that is all that matters. But, he wants Kiki to keep it a secret that she told him about Carly and Sonny. Meanwhile, Bobbie asks Carly if she’s sure she’s done with Sonny. Upstairs, Robin pounds on her mom’s door, but Helena answers instead. Robin threatens to call the cops and Helena tells her to say goodbye to Patrick and Emma if she does. She pulls up surveillance of Robin’s house and they can see Patrick and Anna talking about the divorce. Robin hangs up the phone but tells Helena that Jason is still out there. Helena tells Robin that Jason did make it to Sonny’s front stoop, but never got inside and is now on his way to a secure holding facility. Robin wonders what they even want from her and Jason and she tells Robin she has grand plans.
Outside her hotel room, Anna takes a call from Robert and thanks him for sending his team. If anyone else was in the clinic she can’t imagine they survived. Furthermore, she’s sure they did the right thing about Faison, but feels like she’s lying to Duke every day, especially since he isn’t keeping anything from her anymore. She opens her door and finds Duke in a seemingly compromising position with Lucy on the couch. Lucy hopes Anna doesn't think anything inappropriate was going on and tells them it’s all Bobbie’s fault. Anna can’t believe they are still fighting over Scott and tells Lucy to make Scott choose right now. Determined, Lucy stomps off – after a long wiggly hug with Duke. Alone, Duke and Anna head for the bedroom. After sex, they sip martinis and he considers taking a bartending gig at the Floating Rib. Talk turns to Faison, and Duke’s glad he’s safely behind bars. Meanwhile, Bobbie visits Scott’s room to tell him about Franco’s party downstairs. He wants to know why she lied to Franco about their dinner together and thinks something fishy is going on. Lucy knocks and stomps in, demanding Scott pick one of them. She and Bobbie gang up and tell him to choose now or they are both walking away. Later, Lucy runs back into Anna’s room and throws herself onto Duke – Scott chose Bobbie! Back in Scott’s room, Bobbie and Scott kiss. Scott chose her because they’ve always had trust and honesty between them. Downstairs, Franco overhears Sonny tell Carly they belong together. After Sonny leaves Franco startles Carly and hopes he isn’t ruining any surprises. She lies about who she was talking to. Franco tells her Nina isn’t coming because she knows Carly is jealous of their friendship. Carly seems relieved and tells Franco she knows nothing is going on. “Like you and Sonny?” he questions. Kiki and Michael arrive and Franco tells Michael to run off with Carly to get some champagne. Alone, he asks Kiki if Carly slept with Sonny. She acts confused and he tells her Rosalie heard her talking about it and told Nina. He begs Kiki to be honest with him and she confirms Sonny and Carly did the deed. She only wanted to protect him and even kept it from Michael. Franco laughs – there’s something he’s been meaning to tell Michael. At the bar, Carly thanks Michael for coming. They hug and Bobbie and Scott join them all. Carly hands out wine and says a few words about how amazing and fascinating Franco is. She let him into her heart and can’t imagine life without him. She hopes on his special day he can see how much he means to her and the people in this room. Franco has a few words to say himself. Back upstairs, Robin pounds on Anna’s door.
