Current: Operating nurse at General Hospital
Current: Part owner of Kelly's Restaurant
Past: Prostitute (Prior to her 1977 arrival in Port Charles)
Bobbie Spencer came to Port Charles to pursue her nursing career. A former prostitute, she had given up a child to adoption. Scott Baldwin was the first man to attract her, but he was in love with Laura Webber. Bobbie turned to her brother Luke to help break them up, but when the plan failed, Bobbie pretended to be pregnant with Scotty's child. Her ploy didn't work, and Scotty ended up marrying Laura.
Bobbie's next love interest was Roy DiLucca, a mobster and Luke's partner. He died in her arms after being shot in an attempted assassination of a senator.
In order to attract her next love interest, Dr. Noah Drake, Bobbie pretended to be blind. The handsome doctor made it clear that he was not interested in commitment, and Bobbie rushed headlong into an abusive marriage with D.L. Brock. He was murdered, and although Bobbie was accused, her innocence was proven by attorney, Jake Meyer.
Bobbie married Jake, who later cheated with Lucy Coe. Lucy became pregnant but lost the baby. Jake left town, leaving a letter of explanation for Bobbie, but Scotty destroyed it because his own marriage had failed, and he had his eye on Bobbie.
In 1989, Bobbie married Dr. Tony Jones, discovered relatives she didn't know she had, tried to purchase a black-market baby, had to return it, and ultimately ended up with the child. She struck up a postal affair with a convict, who later escaped, and held her and Tony hostage, while trying to rape Bobbie.
The death of BJ, Bobbie and Tony's daughter, resulted in a much-needed heart-transplant for Maxie. Despite the positive outcome, the trauma of losing a child took a toll on their marriage, and Tony threw Bobbie out when she consummated her affair with Damian Smith. After Damian's untimely death, Bobbie and Tony found their way back to each other again, but even with counseling, their marriage continued to be strained.
At that time, a young woman named, Carly Roberts came to Port Charles, and Tony was ripe for the picking. Bobbie had no idea that Carly was the child she had given up for adoption, and that the young woman had a personal score to settle. When Bobbie found Carly and Tony in bed together, she ended the marriage and turned to Stefan Cassadine. It wasn't long before she realized she had made yet another mistake. The biggest shock was finding out that Carly was her daughter.
When Carly gave birth to the child that was supposedly Tony's, Bobbie was greatly relieved to learn that Tony was not the father of her first grandchild. However, a continuing string of bad romances, including a brief fling with Scotty Baldwin and his faked death, made Bobbie older and wiser.
She got over being angry at Luke for having known Carly's secret all along, and had to suffer the fear that she'd lost her daughter again, but in a car accident this time. The near-death experience only strengthened the mother and daughter relationship.
Bobbie's fear that John Durant was Carly's biological father proved true, and although Bobbie tried to keep his identity secret, it soon leaked out. Durant died at the hand of the mob but not before he convinced Carly that he really loved her despite all his underhanded dealings to try to bring down her husband, Sonny.
In 2006, a plague hit Port Charles, and Bobbie was devastated when her previous husband, Tony Jones, was one of the fatalities. They shared a special bond.
Bobbie's been a colorful character. Between having a gay son, a daughter who married not one, but two mobsters, and having lived herself through a string of failed marriages, bad choices and unwise actions, she's created a lot of excitement on GH over the years. These days, she's not on camera often, but is mentioned when she's babysitting Morgan or popping up at the hospital.

At the Metro Court Britt asks Dr. Obrecht to stay longer. Obrecht says her patients need her. Her oath doesn't include coddling her own children. Britt thinks it's sweet until Obrecht admits she can't leave without thinking Britt will undo all the progress she's made. Britt doesn't see progress, thinking Patrick hates her more. Obrecht thinks he'll come around. Britt believes she'll be left raising the baby on her own, just like her mother. Obrecht says, "Stop whining," hoping hormones are making her a weak human being. Obrecht admits being harsh to make her strong and able to think for herself. Obrecht says the baby growing inside her gives her all the power she needs once she learns how to us it. Dr. Obrecht leaves for home, leaving Britt to go to war.
Bobbie stops by Scotty's room. He's drunk and surprises her with a kiss. She asks why. "I'm just kissing a girl I used to be in love with." He wonders what would have happened if they had gotten together for good. Bobbie used to wonder until she realized he only had eyes for Laura. He asks what's wrong with the men in Seattle that she's still available. Bobbie takes a call and announces she's leaving. Scott wishes she could stay.
Patrick arrives at GH and sees Sabrina before her shift. They know they have to talk about Britt and the baby. Patrick doesn't want the baby to let Britt get in the way. Felix sees Patrick kiss her before leaving for the airport. Felix tells Sabrina he thinks Britt got pregnant on purpose. It doesn't make sense to Sabrina. Felix assures her the monster Brittle is carrying is solely there to rip Sabrina and Patrick apart. Britt overhears and corrects them on her intentions.
At the airport Noah tells Patrick not to let Britt ruin his relationship with Sabrina. Patrick picks up something Dr. Obrecht drops at the airport and hands it to her. She asks if he is Patrick Drake and says, "I have something important to tell you about your wife." She admits watching the Nurses' Ball and congratulates him on his new baby. Noah thinks there's something strange about her. Noah sees Bobbie and tells her he's heading to Seattle General where she works.
Patrick returns to GH. Britt assures him their baby won't cause any trouble since she's decided not to have it.
At GH Scott leaves Nik's room and sees Bobbie. He complains he can't reach Laura wishing she never ran off with Luke. Bobbie quips, "It's not as if they're shacking up in bed somewhere together." She takes him back to his hotel to rest and wait for word on Laura.
At the Metro Court Carly interrupts a room service delivery. Brenda gets out of bed as Carly sees pants on the floor. She berates Brenda for jumping into bed with Sonny as soon as Jax is gone. Carly pulls the blankets down to find Michael and yells, "Why the hell are you in bed with Brenda?" Brenda swears it's not what it looks like. Carly calls Brenda sick and throws Michael his clothes. He says he's okay telling Carly to leave Brenda alone since it's his fault. He begs Carly to leave so he can talk to Brenda. Carly curses while throwing a glass of water at Brenda and leaves. Michael apologizes for Carly, and for taking advantage of Brenda. Brenda disagrees that he made her do anything she didn't want to. Michael checks his messages and sees he's late for a meeting with AJ. In the lobby Carly orders staff to get Brenda out of her hotel. Scott and Bobbie arrive and Carly confesses she found Michael in bed with Brenda. She realizes once Sonny finds out he'll kill Brenda. She goes to call him but Bobbie grabs the phone. Scott jumps in and strategically addresses Carly so Michael can sneak out of the Metro Court. Carly takes their advice to avoid jeopardizing her relationship with her son. Alone she looks at photos of her kids. Brenda interrupts handing her Michael's tie that was left in her bed.
