What happened to Morales & Respect?? In society we are losing it, and you have to wonder what they air on television is a main source of a bad example. All the KISSING comments, and in reality, is Sam & Jason divorced?? Has she filed paperwork? What is she kissing anyone for?? Because Sam has no Morals. I know that is what makes soaps soapy. In reality it makes me sick. It makes me sick how Liz is always 'available' for Jason when he needs her. Did this women forget he thru her under the bus and denied himself father of Jake?? They write her character as someone who I don't think any of us want to be like. And John, yea he has an attraction to Sam, at least he isn't married. And for those of you who know Natalie from OLTL, you know she isn't sitting home alone everynight!! And then we have the famous 'baby snatching' story. UGH! Why can't stories be written about strong respectful honest people?? WRITERS: Take a page out of life. And use your finest actors. You'd be surprised how rating would climb. jmo

Day time television is not new bed swapping, paternity questions or cat fights and that is what makes great. Some couples like Monica and Alan can have children with other people, but still love each other till the end. Couples like Carly and Sonny try and try, but never seem to get right. Yet every time they get together some of us there to watch to the ride. If Kristina main concern really was her SAT scoar and Sonny was really selling coffee out of his warehouse I do not think that i would be watching every day. P

Soaps are sensational, escapism fiction period. Soaps have always historically been about sex, lies, immorality, murder, adultery and deceit since they started on the radio. If you are looking for a uplifting, moral story, where all the characters play nice, then you won't find it on any soap.

I agree..the more they takes morals out of the soap the better it is..but most of the time the bad guy pays somewhat. When I read this thread I thought we had a new character "Morales"?

I have watched soap operas for over 40 years. Back when this real life world showed respect & morales, and one could turn to TV to see different. Now I want to turn to the TV and see how things in life should be. I have seen society change, and how nice would it be to watch a soap show, where vulnerble people think its OK to behave like that. Its not.

As long as you know how to behave in the real world, enjoy the soaps then. Not many people are like you though.
