Liason is the ONLY reason I watch. I am beginning to like Todd and I want him to take on Sonny, I can tell he is not afraid of him.

Hi I am fairly new to this show and I just wanted someone to explain to me about Jason and Liz. I have had a chance to see Jason and Sam's relationship and I don't love them but I don't hate them. I also don't know the history of these three but I don't particularly like Liz but the actress is beautiful so I was wondering her back story. I hope that in knowing more about her I might like her more. I just found her pathetic with Lucky. I have a hard time Imagining Jason and Liz but since they have so many fans I'm really interested in their story

Hi Dixonlover! If you want to catch some of their history there is a channel on YouTube called The Liason Story (you have to filter by channel when you search for it) that has all their clips that will give you some idea of their backstory cuz it is 13 years long and a lot happened. I could spend all day trying to tell you and I do like talking about them but watching is better

I will tell you why I prefer Jason with Liz and visa versa. One of the biggest reasons is that Liz is the only relationship that Jason chose. I loved him and Robin as a couple but he was with her because she and Sonny had just lost Stone and were spending a lot of time together. He got to know Robin because of Sonny. He was with Courtney because she was Sonny's sister and he was with Sam because he got stuck keeping her out of Sonny and Carly's way when she got pregnant with Sonny's kid. I am not saying that he didn't love those women but, to me, they were all convenient relationships. He had to be around those women because of Sonny so he 'fell in love' and that was that.

With Elizabeth he chose her. She had no connection to Sonny, Jason had to seek her company out. She was someone he could trust and rely on outside his mob circle.

I feel that when Jason is with Elizabeth (just like in recent scenes) we get to see his perspective on things. He talks about how he is feeling openly and honestly. When he is with Sam (I use that example because it is his current relationship) I feel like he tries to cushion his feelings. When those two (Jasam) talk I feel like it is nothing more then 'I don't know what do you think.' 'I don't know what do you want.' I feel like neither one of them truly trust that the other one will be there for them (and with good reason given their history). When Jason was honest with her about his feelings on the baby, she walks out. When Sam found out Jason was lying about Jake Sam tried to manipulate him into telling her the truth instead of being honest and having a conversation. But with Elizabeth Jason just lets his feelings and emotions out and gives the viewers a better glimpse of what he is actually feeling.

When Elizabeth is with Jason she becomes less of a people pleaser and speaks up for herself. She gets daring and adventurous, instead of careful and a little boring. She tries new things with Jason and seems to come alive. She paints. Again, I think this is because when she is with Jason it is not out of obligation or a sense of responsibility but because he is truly who she wants to be with and that is freeing to her.

Like jase_n_liz, I would strongly suggest that you head on over to youtube and start from the beginning! (If you have trouble, search "liason 1999" and look for a scene of Elizabeth getting manhandled by a jerk at Jake's and Jason coming to the rescue! And then go from there Or search for the channel LiasonSteckyFan as they have Liason clips organized by year starting from 1999!)

I only started watching in 2006 and was much like you: I didn't care either way about Jasam, but I thought Elizabeth was GORGEOUS and I was curious about her relationship with Jason. I found youtube clips and caught up on their history, and then I was hooked

Personally, I'm a fan of couples who ooze angst, and Jason and Elizabeth are about the angsty-est couple I've ever seen! They can't ever seem to get their timing right. Just when they think they can be together, something happens to keep them apart. But throughout it all--and no matter how many people have protested [and there have been many!]--nothing has ever destroyed their bond. It makes me root so hard for them to finally get their turn at being happy together

There are so many reasons I love this couple that I'm afraid I would bore you to death if I rambled on as much as I know I could So, if you're like I was and find yourself interested in Liason and their history, I encourage you to go check them out on youtube!
