Good Afternoon Liason Fans!

I probably should start a new thread but the spoilers I'd like to share are mostly positive towards Liason and don't want "other" posters to get all in a tizzy! So, here you go...

With Frons concentrating on how to diminish GH from our T.V. screens permanently - and busy schmoozing Katie Courtic to bring herself to ABC - Guza is being given more free-reign than ever before with s/l's. And this may not be such a bad thing! AND WHY, you ask? Because now Liason may have more a chance than they've ever had! Of course, as all you dedicated Liasonites know, that was the plan way back when, before the dreaded Courtney years, but I digress...

Anyway, JaSam tanked in the sweeps (trust me, they really, really tanked!) and the baby-making s/l is backfiring, BIG TIME! But you all knew that, right? (hee-hee!!). The fact is: Frons' promise that JaSam's reunion would bring in the ratings isn't working, while the few scenes Liason have shared since the tragic death of their son there has been a small increase in viewership numbers (like in the thousands)...enough for TPTB to take notice.

Now, before you get too excited, there may be plans for Liz to hook up with another male character already on the canvas - albeit briefly - once RH recovers from her nasty bout with meningitis. BTW, I hope and pray she's feeling better!

And no, it's not Lucky... Sorry LnL'ers. Not even Frons wants to go there again - and Jonathan Jackson may very well say adios to GH in November. So, who are the contenders, then? Well, Mobster Johnny and Detective Dante are the two biggest names being thrown out there. One, Julie Marie Berman is probably leaving before GH is cancelled (and, really... Who can blame her?) which would free up the resident hunky cop, and Johnny? Well, even though his demise has been spoiled many, many, many times since, I don't know...forever, Brandon Barash is very well-liked by TPTB...and well, who could blame them?

Anyway, the way it may work out is that Jason gets JEALOUS! One, Johnny is in the mob - Isn't that why Jason walked away in the first place? - and as far as Dante's concerned, well, he's a cop and a thorn in Jason's backside, even though it's quite the backside to look at!

Now, just to be warned - and you can ignore this part, and I won't blame you! - it's been thrown out there that Liz and Sonny may kinda/sorta hook-up! Okay, let's let out a collective "EWWW" with that idea, however, Maurice Bernard was NOT a happy camper w/the release of RH from her contract - then again, who was? Wait, I think I can come up with that answer myself! - and MB is rumored to be pushing the writers for "Dimples" to involved with a woman that is the most shocking, the most unexpected, and would shake viewers to their core. And can you imagine Jason's reaction to THAT pairing? Oy!!! Not to mention Carly's? Okay, pulling back...

Anyway, Jason and Liz will continue to bond over Josslyn (and I don't care what anyone else says, I think that little girl is a cutie-pie!) and it's possible that Liz may unintentionally get involved with the Jax/Carly custody case. It's also rumored that Ethan will bring in Liz to help Kristina with her drug addiction. I'd like that, personally. Frankly, the writers missed out on a great opportunity for Liz/Kristina bonding after the whole Kiefer incident. Liz would have been an exceptional supporting character in that whole thing...

Anyway, what it basically boils down to, is that this summer is going to very interesting where Liason is concerned. Little hints and nuances that Liason isn't as finished as they may seem may be coming slowly but surely. And no matter what other naysayers may tell you, Guza has ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS wanted Liason to have a full-out, full-fledged, complete s/l. Remember, he's the one who brought them together in the first place in 1999. He's also the one in 2002 when Steve Burton came back to GH permanantly, that trashed the idea of Liz having a new love interest (after the LnL non-wedding) to hook her up with Jason.

Now the rumors about Jacob Young coming to GH after AMC is gone... Yes, it's being thrown out there, and yes, they may test whatever character he'll play w/Liz. But I wouldn't count on it being anything long-term. With GH's shelf-life diminishing like the package of bon-bon's sitting right next to me, they're not going to waste their time hooking her up with a new character. They'll use someone already on canvas.

One more rumor to clear up: Rebecca Buddig was supposedly offered the role of Elizabeth, and they thought she was going to agree when the deal fell through because of her salary demands. That was part of the reason why TPTB offered RH her job back. But the other rumor floating out there is that the deal fell flat because Buddig wasn't told who she was replacing, and once she found out, she turned tail and ran. Buddig and Herbst are friends, and Buddig was not all that pleased about RH's firing. HOWEVER, it's possible we may still see the lovely Ms. Buddig in Port Charles, but not as Elizabeth, but as a different recast. Reportedly, one leading lady may be replaced! And it may not be who you expect!
