On March 8, we reported that General Hospital's Bryan Craig (Port Charles' Morgan Corinthos) has been cast in the upcoming pilot Grand Hotel for ABC. The show is written by Brian Tanen (Devious Maids, Desperate Housewives) and is being produced by Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives, and Isabella Brana on The Young and the Restless). The pilot is being directed by Ken Olin (Thirtysomething) and is based on a Spanish series Gran Hotel, which ran from 2011 until 2013 in Spain and the UK. Grand Hotel is a drama which takes place in a Miami Beach hotel and centers on the family who owns the business, the staff who run it, and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior. News of Craig's casting was reported by Deadline.
The show initially cast As the World Turns alum Roselyn Sanchez (Pilar Domingo; Devious Maids) as Gigi, Demián Bichir (The Bridge) as Gonzalo Cardenas, and Chris Warren (Jimmy Ramírez on The Bold and the Beautiful as Jason). Recently Anne Winters (13 Reasons Why) has been cast as Ingrid, a beautiful hotel employee who is seeking out a path to the rich and easier life. Craig has been cast as Javi, a no-filter playboy who loves to disobey his father. Also joining the show is Denyse Tontz, (Miranda Montgomery, All My Children) as Paloma, a smart, headstrong young woman determined to do what’s right for the family business, Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Game) will play Mrs. P, a no nonsense staff manager at the hotel, and Shalim Ortiz (Heroes) portrays Mateo, the Director of Guest Experiences.
Bryan Craig returned to General Hospital for the special episode centered on Ava. Since departing GH back in 2016 he has appeared on The CW's Valor, which has since been canceled, and also in the film American Fighter.
