The GH Rant from June 30 – July 3:

It was a short holiday week destined to be fast-paced and full of surprises and fun. The writers successfully fit it all in four days and knocked it out of the park as hard as Nina hit her new therapist.

We have not yet begun to fight.
Who could not love Levi's sit-in under Morgan and Kiki's watch? Like Levi even cares about Port Charles. Maxie joining him was a laugh that only got funnier when Michael showed up and tried to set them straight before calling the police. It will be interesting to see if Occupy Port Charles goes anywhere. At the very least it would be a nice topic to further separate Maxie and Levi. There must be something more he can do to alienate Maxie. Perhaps the ELQ Waterfront Revitalization Project is Levi's primary concern even though it doesn't seem likely. There must be some purpose to Levi's presence on our TV screens. We need a hint of what it is soon.

Please. Call me Sonny.
The arrival of Delia at Ava's request for her to come to Sonny's had to have been the best bit this week. The interaction between Maurice Benard and Ilene Kristen was off the charts funny. It's not likely Delia can save Ava and I'm actually quite surprised she cares enough to try since Ava's been nothing but trouble for her.

Rafe found the time to ask for help when he realized he was out of money and out of drugs. Unfortunately his world came tumbling down when he overheard how everyone knew he drove the car that killed baby Gabriel and he looked to the wrong person for help in the end. Here's to hoping that his experience on the run from his father will allow him to handle Nina after he's off of his drug kick. She's not the type of person you want to owe for her help. He really should have jumped at the opportunity to tell Silas his troubles after Silas spilled how much he loved him and wanted to make a difference in his nephew's life.

A lot of characters got caught this week. First lesson, learned by Franco, don't cross Carly. Sonny's the game changer. There's no shaking that albatross off of her back. Carly caught Franco about to tell Michael Sonny shot AJ and it was time for Franco to grovel. Olivia may have caught Carly talking BS since it's not possible Sonny sleeping with Ava had anything to do with Connie. Tracy got caught, probably twice. It's a good thing Alexis is on to her because who knows what will happen to Alice. The last Quartermaine staff member who entered the hospital didn't come home. Ava got caught trying to pull one over on Sonny. Talk about a backfire, he was eager to let her live with her mother. You make your bed, you lie in it. Rafe got caught and it's likely he'll run even though he had the best catch of the week out of everyone, Nina walking and spouting her mouth off about her plans. It's always the best catch that involves blackmail. After all these catches I felt as if the storylines were moving along even if they all weren't wrapped up nicely.

Enter stage left: Travis.
Nina's list of players grew as she manipulated her GH physical trainer, Travis, to help her keep her secret. Is there anyone at that hospital that won't take a bribe? Shame on her for enlisting Rafe in her little scheme. It's absurd since he's aware that everyone he cares about knows that he forced Patrick off the road. There's nothing to lose by coming forward, outside of someone learning about the drugs.

The unspoken word.
Last week's blog covered a myriad of cliff-hangers, one leaving us with the possibility that Franco planned to tell Michael that Sonny shot AJ. Carly nipped that in the bud, but Michael lost out again when Alice collapsed in his office before disclosing that she learned Tracy was plotting against him. He can't catch a break.

Fireworks Follow-up.
Wow! The Britch is back. She gave up waiting on help from Obrecht and moved on to manipulating Spencer. Those two are so smooth. Spencer could teach Brad a thing or two. While he got Britt closer to Nikolas, Maxie and Nathan bonded under the fireworks on their trek through the park. Most of the fireworks were on the ground though as the end of the week started on a low note when Nina did the most hateful thing thinkable. She pretended Rafe hurt her before going on the lam. Rosalie was lucky that Rafe finally left the parking garage because Nina would have slugged her back if she learned Rosalie really didn't make sure he was long gone. Fans were probably left wondering how Rafe would get caught but luckily Dante was scheduled to have the one PCPD car this week and a high-speed chase ensued that didn't end well. Apparently Rafe didn't learn anything about his reckless driving the first time. Oh wait, he did it on purpose? Faux Luke is written all over this. Again, Monday is three days away before we learn what happened in the crash.

To be or not to be?
It seems that TJ and Rafe will never get along no matter how much faith Molly has in Rafe after his recent sincere apology to her. Her running off to save Rafe could be the last straw for TJ. Do you think their relationship is doomed? Take's General Hospital Poll: Molly And TJ Will… to share your thoughts.

Let's digress.

Nina's creepy quote of the week – To Silas, "I hope Sam knows what a lucky girl she is to have you in her life."

Nickname of the week – Kangaroo Ken, for Levi, coined by Morgan. Michael trying to decipher Levi's last name was pretty funny too. Nina gets special mention for her nicknaming rant that included bashing Silas' wards, Dippy Love Child and Coke-head Nephew. Oh, and let's not forget Trailer Trash Sam.

Fun share from Camp Lila – Alice showing off the Quartermaine hand-puppets to Tracy at ELQ.

Sexiest moment – Nathan handcuffing Levi…why wouldn't it be, he was just getting warmed up. We all knew what would happen next and it did. Things got hotter when he put the cuffs on Maxie and then in the scuffle handcuffed himself to her. Ryan Paevey's interview with was spot on when he said, "I can tell you that Maxie and I are going to spend a lot of time in close proximity all week."

Mother of the Year Award – Delia. Please, we all know Ava wouldn't try to save her mother.

Biggest reveal – Rosalie does a lot of reading. What a gossip too. She gets the Amy Vining award for nosiness and annoyances.

Eerily familiar – Tracy standing over someone who needs medical attention. Remember Edward?

Biggest fail - Molly forgetting snacks for the picnic.

Biggest save - TJ bringing Kelly's BLTs.

PSA of the week – Commentary on the cost of student loans.

Oh no she didn't moment – Nina repeatedly snapping her fingers at Rosalie.

Best job in Port Charles – Nina's nurse. Comes with perks, like being asked to hit Nina the nut job. I'd say she enjoyed that after putting up with the finger-snapping.

Best lines of the week.

Maxi to Levi, "So like we're not going to pull like a Gandhi for the waterfront because I have to be honest, I don't think I have a hunger strike in me." Levi, "I have faith in you." Maxi, "That's really sweet of you to say…is that a yes about the hunger strike?"

Levi to Nate and his backup, "You come to trample our rights coppers, silence our voice?" Nate, "Dunkleman, there isn't a gag big enough."

Nathan, "I've seen your rap sheet." Maxie, "That's private!"

Alexis, "I know more than anyone that Luke is an acquired taste." Ned, "Haggis is an acquired taste."

Spencer to Britt, "I will take our scheming to the grave."

"There’s drama as always but it’s been a lot of fun," says Kristen Alderson in her Emmys Red Carpet interview where you can read more of what the "General Hospital" stars had to say about recent events in Port Charles.
