A reprieve from being police commissioner.

A flash back to 1986 finds Port Charles' police commissioner embroiled in a murder investigation that implicated a friend on "General Hospital."

Duke recently wanted to whisk Anna away when unbeknownst to him, she was worried about keeping Faison's demise a secret. As police commissioner in 1986, it was worry over if a friend killed Alan Quartermaine when his plane went down that bothered Anna. Duke had a knack for coming to the rescue. He wanted her to escape when he found her obsessing over a piece of evidence. A broken cup that had been sent for analysis distracted her, especially when the clue added up with other clues as mounting evidence against a close acquaintance.

In the end, it was revealed that none of Anna's friends were involved in killing Alan Quartermaine, who had planned a fake death. However, until it was proven that Alan was alive, Anna was disturbed to learn that the fragments from the broken cup matched a set of dishes of a friend. Which friend was suspect until Alan returned to Port Charles from the dead? Vote in Soaps.com's Throwback Thursday Poll to tell us.
