Walking disasters. (ABC)

Hot grandparents club. (ABC)

"GH" Rundown for the week of August 19-23:

It was all about stellar performances from the vets this week, and Anna led the pack as one pissed off cop. Luke and Laura finally brought some chemistry, Liz had some deep scenes, and pretty much the entire hot grandparents club got in some touching moments, especially Luke and Sonny’s brief stairway chat and Mac and Felicia’s vigil for Maxie – grab the tissues! Dante and Spin’s operating room moment was sweet too. But if we learned anything at all, it was that babies born in Port Charles with both parents aware and on board are as rare as a unicorn.

A lot of weird coincidences.
Like a caged animal, Britt began exhibiting her fear, but being super pregnant and handcuffed at PCPD might do that to you. When Anna laid out the scenario as she saw it, looping in Robin’s death, even Britt had to agree it didn’t look good for her. Anna taunted Britt like an experienced cat with a scared little mouse. Too bad Felix wasn't a fly on the wall to see Britt sweat.

Obrecht’s skills.
Obrecht must be some kind of miracle worker, and it’s easy to see that her skills would be pretty lucrative on the black market, which would make her valuable to Faison even if he couldn’t give her his love. Obviously Holly, a skilled con artist, fell for it. Fingers crossed that when Obrecht and her own special brand of craziness pops up again she has Robin with her.

Finally some emotion! Maybe we had to wait until they were facing death, but Luke and Laura became that emotionally-connected couple we had hoped for when she first returned to Port Charles. Maybe Holly brought out that bit of jealousy in Laura, but it worked.

Kiki always looks like she just smelled something awful when she’s talking to Morgan, and you would think the stink eye would be enough to put him off, but nope. By the time Carly showed up to the luau we couldn’t wait to see what she was going to unload on him, but she actually took the concerned mother tack. The walls were closing in on Morgan, and Kiki probably won't be his for much longer.

The spineless wonder.
With all the CEO back and forth and time spent voting and recounting votes – not to mention the time spent talking to pictures of Edward - what work gets done at ELQ anyway? Not relish making, thanks to Franco.

And down at the Rib, as soon as AJ brought Jake into his tirade on Liz, he probably lost her forever. It was gasp inducing and horrifying and even worse than sex with Carly. AJ’s "no one lets me prove myself" act was tired anyway, so props to Liz for making it clear that AJ makes his own path despite his constant blame game. Although alcohol-induced hallucinations don’t exactly make for clear decision making.

AJ was right about one thing - Liz going to Nikolas about AJ’s threat on Connie’s life, then jumping down his throat for thinking the worst, was a move that seemed meant to keep Nikolas on the hook. It was incredibly unfair for Liz to unload on Nikolas when he only – very calmly –suggested AJ might be on a bad path based on her information.

A lot to celebrate.
Wow, nothing like some labor to loosen the tongue! Maxie couldn’t stop saying incriminating things in delivery, but no surprise it was honest Ellie who finally let this cat out of the bag. The Jackal popped a vein or two or three when he heard of his beloved Trout's deception. It was really heartbreaking watching all the meaningful looks between Spin and Maxie during the delivery, but if they couldn’t have shared any of the pregnancy together, at least they had that.

Oh Connie.
Connie stumbled onto some pretty damning info about Julian, and while she wanted to tell Sonny asap, it looks from the blood stained white dress she had on after AJ confronted her, that she won't get the chance to give him the lowdown on J Jerome.

As for Ava’s motives for keeping Silas and everyone else in the dark about Kiki, we still haven’t gotten a straight answer, although it seemed to be leaning toward love. It would make sense if she thought Silas' life might be in danger because of her mob ties. Franco may have been trying to be nice before, but no more. He warned Ava he would take the crazy out on her and now that he’s on the run she needs to rally the Jerome troops. Of course, now that Julian is a match for Danny, it will be interesting how they keep their real identities under wraps anyway, Connie or not.
