  • Brytni Sarpy Returns to General Hospital, Back Taping Scenes image

    Updated February 2: Soaps.com has learned that Brytni Sarpy is back in the ABC studios taping "General Hospital" scenes. Look for Valerie Spencer to return to the canvas sometime this month, as reported by Soap Digest.

    On January 2, 2017 Brytni Sarpy, who's played Valerie Spencer since 2014, has been moved to recurring status on "General Hospital" in order for the actress to work on other projects.

  • Mike Corbin Recast, Max Gail to General Hospital image

    Max Gail joins "General Hospital" on February 5 as Sonny Corinthos' father Mike Corbin. The role was last played by Ron Hale in 2010. Soaps.com readers will likely recognize Gail from "Barney Miller" and as Merle on "Days of our Lives" in 2007. The news of Gail's casting was announced by TVLine.

  • Ryan Paevey Confirms General Hospital Exit image

    Ryan Paevey, who answered questions on social media today, confirmed his character's exit from "General Hospital," stating "The decision to leave was his own. Paevey joined "GH" as Nathan West in 2013. After being shot by his father Faison, his character flatlined on January 30, though we know that his story is not yet over. Soaps.com recently reported on a rumor that Ryan Paevey was leaving General Hospital to pursue other projects, which he cryptically confirmed on Twitter when asked by a viewer if he would consider doing a feature film. He has already appeared in several Hallmark movies over the past few years, and a Lifetime thriller, which Paevey discussed in an interview with Soaps.com last year. A sequel to his film Unleashing Mr. Darcy appears to be in the works, and he hopes to get into action films. Paevey noted he would miss working on the show, and especially with Dominic Zamprogna, who plays his partner Dante Falconeri.

  • Maurice Benard Signs New General Hospital Contract image

    Maurice Benard has signed a new contract to continue playing Port Charles mobster Sonny Corinthos on "General Hospital." The Soaps.com fan favorite, who joined "GH" in 1993, will be celebrating 25 years on the soap this coming summer. Benard tells Soap Opera Digest, "I feel fantastic, I feel humbled. How many actors can say they've been on a show for 25 years? I feel very grateful."

  • Vinessa Antoine Signs New General Hospital Contract image

    Vinessa Antoine has signed a new contract with "General Hospital" to continue playing Port Charles police commissioner Jordan Ashford on the show. Antoine joined the soap in 2014. As Soaps.com recently reported, Vinessa Antoine will be appearing on NCIS in a guest role. Antoine's contract status was reported by Soap Opera Digest.

  • Anders Hove Returns to General Hospital As Faison image

    Soaps.com has learned that Anders Hove will be reprising his role as “General Hospital’s” Cesar Faison. On Thursday January 18, a mysterious person with long grey hair showed up in Port Charles and caught up on the town’s current news. Hove was last seen on the ABC soap opera in December 2014. In 1999, he also appeared as Faison in the spin-off soap “Port Charles,” as well as on “Loving” in 1993.

  • General Hospital Dayplayers Cast for January Episodes image

    Celesta Deastis played the part of a grown, imaginary Avery, Ava's daughter, on "General Hospital" in Ava's standalone episode on January 17. The actress has been seen in Ladies of the Lake, "Melissa and Joey," and "How to Get Away with Murder."

    Stewart Skelton booked an unknown role on "GH" back in December. He's played various dayplayer roles on the ABC soap since 2002 including a desk clerk named Giles, Dr. Legler and Judge Warner.

    Darren Dupree Washington, who first appeared as Cassandra's sidekick Erich back on September 20, ended his run on January 2 after Nina and Valentin escaped being held hostage by him.

  • Megan Ward Returns to General Hospital for Ava's Standalone Episode image

    Megan Ward returned to "General Hospital" as Connie Falconeri's ghost to haunt Ava Jerome during her standalone General Hospital episode on January 17. Ward originally played Kate Howard, Connie Falconeri's other identity, from 2007 until 2010. Kelly Sullivan took over the role in 2011 and played it until August of 2013 when Ava shot and killed Connie Falconeri.

  • Bryan Craig Returns to General Hospital for Ava's Standalone Episode image

    Bryan Craig returns to "General Hospital" on January 17 as Port Charles' Morgan Corinthos in the episode focused on Ava and her surgery, where she faces all the people she wronged in her life. You can watch a preview of Bryan Craig's return to General Hospital. As previously reported by Soaps.com, Bryan Craig left GH when Morgan was killed in a car accident back in October 2016. Since then the actor has been busy with other projects, including a guest role on CW's Valor. The actor tweeted about his return to "GH" after the preview let the cat out of the bag.

  • Ryan Carnes Taping New Scenes at General Hospital image

    Soaps.com has learned that Ryan Carnes is returning to "General Hospital" as Lucas Jones. The show revealed a backstage photo of Carnes with on-screen mother Jackie Zeman (Bobbie Spencer) and teased the two were taping scenes together this week, which should air sometime in February. Carnes last appeared on "GH" in June of 2017 when Lucas wished Julian good luck in prison right before his father was to be sentenced.
