Carly finishes packing and worries about moving into Maggie’s place and asks Bo to run interference with her daughter. He laughs. He can’t do that. Carly opens the door, ready to leave, but dawdles. Bo thinks she should consider it more. She can’t and says she has always considered herself a tough cookie until Lawrence’s behavior beat her down. She calls Bo a rock. He took care of her and she feels stronger because of it. Bo seems embarrassed and tells her life’s not boring without her. They hug as Philip comes through the open door and asks Bo to go for a beer. He stops when he sees Carly in Bo’s arms saying, "Guess not." Philip is introduced and rudely says to Carly, "Let's see, were you married to my brother before or after you married my father?" Carly isn’t fazed and heads to the door, telling Philip he reminds her of his father! Bo agrees and thinks Philip could have been polite. Philip says he’ll kiss up to her next time if it makes him happy, and launches into how complicated his life is. He needs advice, but isn’t sure if Bo can give it, considering he’s having problems with his wife and is spending time with another woman. Bo smirks and when Philip mentions what a coincidence it is that Carly and Vivian are both in town and that Vivian and Victor are pals, Bo is surprised.

Sami gets a call at the pub from Nicole, but she hears Sydney crying and we see that Nicole is unconscious on the floor. Sami begs Nicole to answer her but we see blood gushing from Nicole’s head and her calling for Sydney. EJ takes the phone and starts calling Nicole names and telling her she’s going to pay for this, and we see a person pick up the phone and hang it up while Nicole still lies unconscious with blood pooling around her head. As EJ yells, Rafe has traced the call to a bus station in Cleveland and the cops are on the way. EJ wants Brady to leave but Rafe says he stays. He’s the one person who can talk to Nicole.

Melanie and Arianna have a heart to heart about Melanie’s complex love life. Mia arrives at their table having forgotten their order and Melanie, who is in a mood, snaps at her. Arianna wonders why Melanie’s so afraid of being with Philip and thinks she should be with a guy who turns her on rather than be with somebody who looks good on paper but doesn’t float her boat. Melanie’s embarrassed and says Nathan’s a good guy but Philip isn’t. She goes to Mia to apologize for snapping at her and brings back muffins for her and Ari, who argues that Philip gets her on a different level than Nathan. Why does that bother her? Because Philip is self-centered and arrogant, Melanie says but Ari thinks that’s exactly what Melanie wants. Melanie sighs. If that’s what she wants, she’s wrong! That’s not what she needs!

Nearby, Carly arrives for coffee, unaware Mia worked at Java. She mentions she’s moving into Maggie's tonight and asks several questions about Mia working while going to school until Mia cuts her off. She’s not allowed to chat up customers and when Carly moves in, she’d like her to leave her alone! She’s uncomfortable that Carly knows so much about her. Carly backs up to leave and bumps into Melanie, spilling coffee all over her forearm. Melanie yells at Carly, "What the hell’s the matter with you?" Carly gazes at her sadly and examines her arm, saying she’s a doctor. Melanie asks if she’s drumming up business and insists she take care of it herself. She’s a nurse. Carly gazes at Melanie with more than a passing curiosity. Melanie gets bandaged up and rants and raves to Ari that they’ve a clumsy doctor on staff. When Gabi arrives to see if there’s word on Nicole, Melanie leaves them to talk and Gabi brings up the drugs. Ari grabs Gabi by the arm and drags her outside and admits she’s working undercover and she should kindly keep her mouth shut from now on! Gabi thinks she is lying. She should tell Brady so they can get back together but he already knows. Gabi assumes Nicole’s the reason they’re not together, but Ari won’t say. Instead, she tells her kid sister to go home.

Police sirens are heard as Nicole lies on the floor and the bus attendants hover over her, realizing she’s the kidnapper.

Back at Bo’s place, Philip and Bo discuss their fathers and Philip says, "I guess I just need someone to tell me the sun will come out tomorrow and everything's coming up roses. I also need to hear that it's darkest before the dawn!" Bo laughs and takes a quick call while Philip gets the door to Nathan, who is there to talk to Hope about the Foundation. Bo takes a call and has to leave. He’ll meet Philip at the pub later. Philip says Hope moved out as she and Bo are having troubles and apologizes for Melanie. Nathan’s not interested in the apology and thinks Philip’s brainwashing Melanie. Philip smirks. "Look at how worked up you’re getting," he says, patronizing Nathan. Nathan scoffs. At least he didn’t walk all over Melanie like a certain person did over and over. He doesn’t want Philip to push Melanie into something she’s not ready for. Philip says he had a chance with a rock star and he treated her like a sorority girl. Nathan puffs out his chest and assures Philip this’ll be the last time they discuss this. Melanie deserves better and Nathan will make sure Philip leaves her alone.

EJ, Rafe and Sami board a plane for Cleveland. Rafe assures Sami they’ll find Sydney. The plane is held up by Brady’s arrival and EJ shouts at him once he boards. Brady argues sarcastically that he’s the cause of everything including world war and asks EJ to move his briefcase from the only open seat on the plane. Brady asks EJ not to cause issues with Nicole once they’re there.

In a Cleveland hospital, Nicole fights for her life as the doctors discuss how concerned they are that she’ll come to. After they leave, Nicole wakes up in pain. Confused, she calls for Sydney.

Mia finds Bo at the pub and learns they’ve good news about Sydney. Bo figures this has to be tough on her. Mia denies it. Sydney’s not her baby. Bo smiles. Those feelings don’t go away and that’s what moms are like. "Not my mum," says Mia, sadly. Once Mia has left, Philip arrives at the pub and he and Bo discuss Melanie. Suddenly, Philip doesn’t need Bo’s advice, causing Bo to laugh and tell his brother that he has screwed things up with some pretty amazing women in the past. Philip’s not going to blow it this time.

At Maggie’s place, Carly thinks to herself that the last encounter didn’t go too well. She’ll just have to give it another shot.

Melanie arrives home and bumps into Carly’s luggage. She heads to the living room just as Carly’s coming into the kitchen and they bump into each other. Melanie yells, "Oh! Don’t hurt me!" Carly introduces herself and says she’s moving in. Melanie didn’t know and thinks Maggie ought to up her homeowner’s insurance! Mia arrives home and Carly tells her if this is going to be a problem, she’ll leave. Melanie thinks she should go.

Rafe, Brady, Sami and EJ arrive at the Cleveland hospital and are told they can’t get in to see Nicole. When they ask after Sydney, the nurse is confused. There was no baby with her! Sami gasps in shock. The doctor arrives and tells everyone Nicole has a head injury. Only family is allowed to see her so EJ wanders in to talk to her.

In her room, Nicole wakes up and EJ says it’s over. Nicole asks where Sydney is and she starts to cry and call for Sydney when EJ demands to know where she is. Rafe meets with Mr. and Mrs. Robinson who were at the bus station when Nicole was there. They’ve no real input so the police let them go.

Stefano asks Rafe, "So what do you think is going to happen when they get that little girl back?"

EJ goes nuts on Nicole, threatening to kill her! Sami yells, "EJ!"
