Daniel stands up to Lucas, Nicole decides to bring Sydney home, and Rafe stops Brady and EJ from fighting.

At the Cleveland bus terminal, Nicole considers Brady’s request for her to return to Salem with Sydney. She wishes she had a sign to tell her what to do and when she hears her bus for Toronto is leaving, she takes it as a sign and as she leaves, she hears Brady’s voice in her head, telling her to come home.

Will opens the door to find Lucas on the other side. He was let out of rehab early and came directly to see Will to apologize and make amends. Will’s glad he’s back, but admits that Sami lost her baby again. Later, Will has told Lucas the whole story and Lucas wonders how Nicole knew about Sami being pregnant with EJ’s kid. Will thinks it has to do with Chloe.

EJ, Rafe, Sami and Roman listen as Brady tells them he is sure Nicole’s on her way back home. EJ thinks he’s out of his mind to believe Nicole and is tired of Brady posturing as a hero. EJ just spoke with Nicole and she didn’t want to return. Brady thinks EJ probably bullied her and that’s why she didn’t want to return and this starts off an argument that Rafe has to step in on. EJ blames Nicole for aiding a delusional woman. Rafe again steps in and Brady swears to Sami that Nicole sounded conflicted but Sami thinks Nicole’s obsessed with Sydney and will do what she can to keep her. EJ calls Brady Nicole’s accomplice. Not sure when he left, but Rafe bursts into the room and says they have a lead. They’re heading to Cleveland. An argument breaks out about who will go and EJ says Brady’s not going. He has proven himself a liar, time and time again. Brady calls him a hypocrite. He’s the criminal! Rafe steps in yet again and reminds the men this is about Sydney. Brady’s connection to Nicole is important to them and all they have.

Stephanie drops off a package for Maggie, and Stephanie admits she’s uncomfortable about their last discussion about Melanie and Nathan and reluctantly admits she made a fool of herself with Nathan, when she told him how she feels about him. Stephanie thinks Nathan’s dealing with issues with Melanie not being able to shake Philip, just as she once was. Later, Stephanie has left and Maggie takes a call from Mickey. She touches a photo of them together (old Mickey) gingerly as he tells her he’s delayed on his trip. She offers dinner to Mia, who calls her Salem’s version of Lady Liberty, helping those who are messed up. Maggie says they’re not messed up. They just need a sense of family.

Nathan yells when he spies Philip and Melanie moving in for a kiss. Melanie says it’s not what he thinks but Philip thinks Nathan deserves to know the truth. Nathan tries to take a shot at Philip but Melanie gets between them and takes Nathan aside. She tells him she was comforting him and admits she wouldn’t have stopped him if he had kissed her. She blurts out that she has feelings for them both. Nathan thinks it’s twisted and turns to go but Melanie thought he said he was going to fight for her. He doesn’t know he can believe in her, he says and she cries that she’s working at getting Philip out of her head. She just needs time. Nathan says time is up. "We’re done."

At the hospital, Chloe tells Daniel that Nicole kidnapped Sydney and it’s all her fault. If she had been a better friend, maybe Nicole wouldn’t have gone insane. Daniel knows this isn’t her fault. Lucas interrupts as Daniel leaves momentarily and calls Chloe the big-mouthed trader. Not only did she cheat on him, she took what he told her in confidence and ruined Sami’s life in the process! Chloe admits she feels horrible about what happened and even tried to call Lucas but Will wouldn’t give her his number. Lucas thinks she could have visited him in person. Daniel interrupts and tells Lucas attacking an innocent person isn’t going to help. He's a dry drunk. He’s still behaving like an alcoholic. Lucas retorts that he’s an SOB and Daniel says this is about a child. Not them. Later, Chloe thanks Daniel for always being in her corner when it comes to Lucas and Victor. "I would slay dragons for you, because I am your man, forever," he gushes.

Nicole makes a phone call to Fay from a phone booth and tells her not to worry. They’re on their way and they’re fine. She hangs up and flashes back to Sami with Sydney and EJ and tells Sydney she loves her so much. Her love is keeping her from her real mommy and daddy and that’s not fair to her. The bus attendant asks if she’s ready to board. In tears she says they’re not leaving after all. She makes a call to the pub and EJ answers. Sami takes the phone and calls out Nicole’s name, but the phone is left hanging on the wall and Nicole is unconscious on the floor.

At the hospital, Stephanie can see Nathan has returned early from seeing Melanie. He’s grumpy and admits that he now understands the feeling of rejection and humiliation she must have felt opening up to him about her feelings for him. Melanie showed him today she’s not over her feelings for Philip. Stephanie feels for him and is curious. Nathan figures he can move on.

Back at Cheatin’ Heart, Melanie berates herself for what she has done and thinks Philip gets a kick out of screwing things up for her. He denies it and tries to leave but she tells him to come back. She needs to tell him off some more! First she thanks him for sticking up for her and taking responsibility for almost kissing her but he didn’t buy it. She says she admitted her feelings for both guys. Philip’s sorry she’s upset and Melanie’s sorry for lying to Nathan. Philip hasn’t been good to her in the past but that’s going to change. He finally figured out he wants her in his life for all the right reasons, which makes Melanie cry. "Choose me," he pleads. She is skeptical and says she’s heading home. Philip’s not giving up, he says and holds her hand. She asks him to let her go and he says he never will!

Maggie finds Lucas on a park bench at the pier and is thrilled he has returned. She’s impressed with him getting home early. Lucas tells her not to be. Somebody called him a dry drunk. He tells her how he heard Chloe betrayed him and he feels guilty for telling Chloe Sami’s secret. Lucas doesn’t know how he’ll live with himself if they don’t find that baby. Maggie smiles. He did learn a lot in rehab. He’s starting to take responsibility for his own actions. They hug.
