At the Bistro, Melanie is shocked to hear Max is her brother. He says he hasn't seen Trent until recently, when he moved back to the states, and lets her know the story of how Trent let him stay in foster care when his mother passed on. Melanie doesn't believe her father would do such a thing. She thinks it's a scam, until Max shows her the photo of herself that he stole from Trent. She starts to believe him and wants to call Trent to find out why he didn't tell her about her brother. Max stops her. He lets her know Trent isn't aware that he's there, and they're not on good terms. He's there because she's family. "This is so bizarre… but sweet," she says. Max asks Melanie not to tell Trent anything and Stephanie shows up and introductions are made. Max autographs a photo for a racecar fan and Melanie suddenly realizes who he is. She seems to like that he's famous and asks why Max isn't racing anymore. Stephanie explains for Max and Melanie thanks her but she was talking to her brother. "There, I said it," she laughs. Max tells Melanie Stephanie used to race, too but Mel doesn't recognize her. Max goes to answer a call from Caroline and Stephanie tells Mel a little about her brother. She admits Max isn't great about judging people sometimes. "Maybe he shouldn't judge at all," Mel says. Stephanie brings up George, the guy Melanie dumped. Trent calls Mel and she tells him she was just thinking about him. Trent wants to know why she hasn't answered his calls and she lies that she's working hard. She asks for money for a nun who was collecting for a mission. She lies that she gave the nun all her allowance that was supposed to be for the summer. Trent isn't happy to hear it but will wire money to her account. He asks if she's met any new and interesting people lately and she looks at Max, but lies. "Siblings have to stick together," she tells Max. She tells them that she has Trent eating out of the palm of her hand. She goes off to the ladies' room and Stephanie calls her a piece of work. Max thinks in some ways, she's sweet and sticks up for her when Stephanie tells him about the callus way she acted toward Trent and about the news that George was crushed by her dumping him. Max is forced to admit that he had to pay for her already, but asks Stephanie to cut her slack. The police enter the Bistro and Melanie worries, and they grab her and place her under arrest. Max follows them out of the Bistro.

Philip recuperates by the Kiriakis pool until an irate Hope shows up. She admits she knows Bo is hiding the tape and asks how he could do this to Bo. She explains how she found out and Philip thinks he did the right thing. Hope thinks though she should confess to the Salem PD, she has to protect her husband. She feels as guilty as Bo and Philip tells her protecting family is honorable. Bo will be fine. Hope blurts it out that the anonymous email means someone else knows. Philip is surprised, but since the tape is exposed, it's a moot point. Philip tells her he is innocent, but since Paul is presumed dead, she can't believe him. Philip promises that if any of this gets out, he'll protect Bo.

Later, Morgan shows up. She has released Henderson of his duties and will be tending to Philip. He's thrilled to hear. She massages him. He wants to make out, but Morgan doesn't want him to overexert himself… by kissing.

John comes downstairs in the mansion and finds Ava's note, telling him that she has left Salem. He comments that this is a big mistake, and when a knock comes at the door, Marlena lets herself in. She warns him that Stefano has had a seizure and he could be coming out of the coma. John doesn't understand how it's possible, considering the drug Marlena injected him with should have worked. She's concerned for John, but he reminds her they're still married and can't testify against each other. Marlena is sure that won't matter but John says there will be a trial when he kills Stefano. John leaves to visit Stefano, while Marlena begs him not to. After he leaves, she finds the discarded note from Ava and reads it. At the end of the note, Ava professes her love for John. Marlena is surprised, and makes a call to Roman. She confesses what she read in the note. Ava has jumped bail!

EJ and Tony visit Stefano at the hospital. EJ isn't certain he believes Stefano will come out of the coma, but Tony thinks if Stefano wakes up, he'll take down anyone who put him there! Kayla examines a comatose Stefano and explains that an increase in brain activity could mean Stefano could come out of the coma and be perfectly normal. She leaves to check on tests and Tony thinks Stefano's probably up to something, even as they speak. They go back and forth with ideas about how Stefano will feel when he wakes up, and Tony points out that Stefano may not be happy to find that EJ works for John. They comment that Stefano will try to take back his empire and Kayla returns, unhappy to hear that. She tells the men that the seizure could mean he's cognizant and wants Lexi to examine him. They'll monitor his progress and keep him there until they find out what caused the seizure. John arrives, "I heard the bastard might be waking up," he says. He goes to Stefano and whispers, "What are you plotting now?" Kayla thinks John may hear him. He also may have brain damage. John leaves and Kayla thinks it could also be a sign of deterioration. They need to sign more tests. Tony leaves the room to call Anna and EJ contemplates. Nicole interrupts and EJ hugs her close. He explains what's happening with his father, but isn't feeling that there will be a positive outcome. Nicole apologizes. EJ shares that he finally felt like his own man and if Stefano wakes up, there will be hell to pay.

Marlena finds herself at the hospital, in front of Stefano's room. She dreams that he has woken up and grabs her arm. "You won't get away with this, Marlena." She wakes up and jumps when John comes up behind her. He tells her she can watch but can't do anything. He's going to kill Stefano and it'll be untraceable. "I don't condone murder," she says, but John thinks she should have killed him before. She already regrets what she did, in desperation. She comments that she was taking care of him and thinks Ava can do that now. "Things have changed," says John.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Nicole bumps into Trent. She's unhappy to see him and he tells her he's on the faculty student health care committee. They're meeting there and he wants to know if she found out why Max is in France. She hasn't yet and asks for patience. Trent threatens to tell Victor about their marriage. He has known about their marriage since day one and was sitting on the information. Nicole is shaken, and calls him a bastard. EJ interrupts and Nicole is happy to see him. EJ takes her aside and tells her he got the information she needed from Stephanie. He says Stephanie and Max are in France, hanging out with old racing buddies. They act as though it's all business and then EJ leaves Nicole and Trent. Nicole turns to Trent and asks if he's satisfied. "For the moment," he says, and then leaves.

Marlena goes to Stefano and tells him she's there. She's not sure how the stroke affected him but guesses he can still hear her. She wonders if he remembers what she did to him. She wants him to know she would do it again in a heartbeat! Stefano wakes up, looks at her through half closed eyes and his heart rate spikes. Lexi races in with EJ and Tony in tow. In his head, Stefano murmurs, "Prepare yourself. I will have my revenge."

Chelsea tells Bo, "You just need to relax, decompress a little bit. Everything is going to go perfectly. Hope is going to love this."

John says, "The time is near when you will have to make a choice." EJ nods yes.

Bo unburdens himself. "The thing is, someone else knows I tampered with the evidence." Steve asks, "Who?"
