Belle goes into the hospital with cramps, Bonnie helps Mimi prepare a romantic evening with Shawn and Chelsea sees her mother in a compromising position.
In the sauna, Max and Stephanie are kissing passionately. He asks her to go somewhere more comfortable but she wants dinner!
The two eat in his office at the garage, and Max finds out that Steph is afraid of rats, when he places a fake rat on his desk! Max admits he is nervous about the competition. He doesn't want to let Shawn down, with his new engine. Max shows Stephanie how to operate chop sticks. Steph tells Max she fears losing her dad again. She tells Max she wishes sometimes she could go away and forget about all of this. He hugs her, telling her he can.
Chelsea, Billie and Kate go into the diner for a bite, against Kate's wishes. (She used to work there.) Steve asks them if they are looking for a place to sit, and calls Kate a hot mama! Kate looks at Billie, making a crack that they 'do' have the best 'meat' in town, so she agrees to stay.
The three ladies sit with Steve. They all joke about Kate interfering in their relationships as she tries to do it again with Steve and Billie. Kate tries to show Chelsea manners and Billie bickers with Kate. Steve tries to get the ladies to calm down. Chelsea goes off to do her own thing and Kate goes off with her, leaving Billie with Steve - alone. Steve propositions Billie and she asks 'What about Kayla?' She is shocked to hear Steve tell her that he plans to ask Kayla for a divorce, the next time he sees her. He explains that this is not his life, and he doesn't want to be married to a stranger. When she asks, 'Why me?', he sits beside her in the booth and he tells her she feels familiar. He kisses her and Chelsea walks back in, seeing them together.
At the loft, Belle continues to have pains. Philip decides to take her to the hospital.
Bo runs over to Shawn's loft, interrupting Mimi and Shawn's intimacy to tell them that Belle is experiencing pains in her abdomen. Shawn rushes out with his dad to be with her, while an exasperated Mimi stays with Claire.
At the hospital, Shawn, Phil, Bo and Hope wait to hear news about Belle. Shawn and Phil get into an argument about who is to blame for her being in the hospital. Bo tries to stop the two, explaining how it isn't getting them anywhere. Phil grabs Shawn, but Security comes around to pry the two apart.
Dr. Ross comes out of the ER to tell them that Belle's blood pressure is down, the baby's heartbeat is slow, and they need to keep her for observation.
Shawn visits Belle and he holds her close. They look at the sonogram together and Shawn feels her abdomen and talks to the baby! They playfully argue about the baby's sex. Shawn tells her that he will try to work on them all staying friends.
Out in the waiting room, Phil asks Bo for advice. Bo shares that he has felt the same way, as he is in the same position. Hope tries to comfort Phil, but Philip tells them that he doesn't know what he'll do if Shawn takes Claire away from him.
Back at the loft, Bonnie arrives. Mimi relays what happened to Belle, and Bonnie tells her that if she did lose the baby, it would be one less tie to Shawn. Mimi is upset to find out that Shawn is in with Belle, when she calls to find out how Belle is.
Bonnie comes up with an idea to leave Claire alone, take the baby monitor over to her place to 'watch' Claire. Bonnie whips up some dinner while Mimi dresses in some sexy dress, and when Claire starts to cry, the two leave the monitor on the table and go get Claire.
Claire is fussing and crying and the two try to soothe her.
Shawn comes home to find the monitor on the table. He overhears Mimi admit she knew all along that Claire was his!
