EVERLENA - regarding your writing. The FIRST and the most important step is to copyright your work at the United States Patent and Trademark office. Just Google them and follow the directions. Otherwise, ANYONE can and will steal your work and you will have NO recourse. Although I am looking for some extra help in marketing my book, I am a marketing consultant, just too busy with another project to pursue marketing my book and a friend of mine who is also in marketing is meeting with me next we and he is better "connected" than I am to make things happen. So copyright first, then figure out who your target audience is. Fine tune this list, use the internet to the fullest. It's a gold mine of info. Then develop Press Releases, plan on making tons of phone calls, get the "decision maker", the person who will sign the checks for your books. Mass marketing and getting volume orders is far better than onesies, twosies, but those are nice too. For pricing, contact a trusted friend or accountant who can help you "mark up" your book price so you make enough and don't forget to add in shipping and handling. Contact local people, t.v., newspaper, etc. to get "interviews" and some exposure. Later!

EVERLENA - I don't want to abuse the privilege of posting on this board, but I have other business suggestions I would like to share with you. Do you have a web site where we can chat? I have a book printer and book designer I absolutely love whom I would like to tell you about and although I sent query letters to a number of publishers, I never got a positive response. I got so frustrated and being a "I'll do it myself" person, I decided to get this done all by myself. Worked very hard to get the money, but I don't owe anyone anything and the book designer and printers are fabulous. Later!!!! Plus the profits I get from MY book are mine to keep. To hek with literary agents (they seemed so arrogant and much too busy to give ME the time of day) too bad for THEM. Their loss, my gain!!!

In anything in life, don't get discouraged. Expect rejection and learn a new word - NEXT!!!!!

-Thank you Spring! When I finish this whole long story line I'm working on I will copyright it. First I want to put it in script form. I took a class in screenwriting for TV when I was getting my masters. I really regret now I didn't stay in contact with that teacher as she was a TV writer, but I am sure I will find my way

@Everlena I have self-published books on Kindle before. I know someone who formats manuscripts for Kindle for a living too. Anyway feel free to ask me any questions about the publishing process.

    The kids are here!!! Later.

Just seen on the news that there was crews from 12 different states that are helping to get the power restored here in Michigan, alot of people are still without out power. Hopefully everything will be up and running tomorrow. I want to take a minute and thank all the extra crews that are here helping to give up time that they could be spending with their families. THANK YOU.

EVERLENA - just sent you an e mail. We all need to start a writer's course and how to get YOUR book on the store shelves with the experience we have on this board. I feel like you are ALL my extended family. I love this board.

LGM - we were not affected by the ice storm up here in Northwest Michigan, but there are still thousands "downstate" that are still without. I hope their pipes have not burst so when the do get power back on, they don't have that issue to deal with. We did have an ice storm here a couple of years ago. We lost power and I had a power line come down by my door where I go in and out and thank God I noticed it before I let my dog outside. I have since moved, but still have power. Very blessed. For anyone using generators, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE have a window open and proper ventilation as some people have died from the carbon monoxide these things emit. This includes heating with your stove if using natural gas. Pray for power! Hope the show is good today. Hope Brady is not on as well as Theresa. Later!
