Stephanie arrives at Bo's place as per Kayla's request. Kayla apologizes for Steve's words and Stephanie asks her, "What if you're wrong about papa? What if he is crazy and you're just afraid to admit it?" Kayla explains that it's EJ talking, not Steve. This doesn't appeal to Stephanie and she accuses her mother of making her feel guilty. Kayla tells her that she's only asking for her faith. She reminds Stephanie that Steve responded to her and while Stephanie doesn’t want to let her down,… she trails off and Kayla says that her father needs her. Stephanie decides to stick it out a little longer and apologizes for her attitude. Roman arrives at the house and explains that they can't get into the hospital and he's not sure they can fight the court order. Stephanie thinks they should plant someone inside, "Someone that papa trusts," she says and elects herself for the job! They reject her and she tells them she's not afraid of Dr. Demented, but they confess that maybe they are. Stephanie stomps off and the two consider asking Adrienne (Steve's sister) to infiltrate the hospital.

Kayla remembers that Steve took the fall for her once. Still, Kayla admits that it's a lot to ask but they agree to call her anyway. Kayla calls Adrienne over to the house and Roman agrees to talk to the judge again. The doorbell rings and Adrienne waltzes in, ready to help her brother. She hugs Kayla and says, "What can I do to help?" Kayla brings Adrienne up to speed with Steve's condition and how EJ Wells is involved and Adrienne asks why they didn't come to her before! She admits that she knew something was up when Steve stopped responding to her emails. Kayla explains that the situation is risky but Adrienne agrees to get committed to the state mental hospital. Roman lets her know that it's going to be dangerous and Adrienne says, "It doesn't sound like there are any more options." She holds her chin up and tells them she'll do what it takes to get her brother out of that place. Kayla hugs her, thankfully.

Nick pays a visit to Willow in jail and is shocked and stares at her in disbelief when Willow explains that Hope has been blackmailing her in order to take her child from her. She says "Philip and Hope are out to get my baby," but Nick is confused and can't seem to wrap his head around her words. He thinks Hope's offer could be her best offer but she disagrees. She brings up the fact that she doesn't have the hairbrush to prove her innocence. Nick asks why she asked him there and she admits she wants a second chance to raise her baby. She asks him to tell Hope that she'll never turn her back on her child. She smiles and says love changes people like them. He is further confused and she says she knows he stole the hairbrush for Chelsea. She manipulates him, "You put me in here. Are you man enough to get me out?" Nick pounds his fist on the desk and tells her he never admitted to stealing the brush and that he and Chelsea have broken up. She offers that Chelsea was stupid to let him go and asks him to post her bail. After some careful begging on Willow's part, she gets through to him and he agrees to check his finances to see if he has enough to post it. When she tells him that she wishes she knew how to repay him, he says, "I know how." He asks her to keep this between them and she promises not to tell his family or Chelsea. She kisses her fingertips, and holds it to the glass. "That's the best I can do for now, " she says and he accepts it.

Lucas visits a sleeping Sami in the hospital. Once awake, she lets him know that she feels well and is hungry. He goes off to get them a little picnic and once he's gone, EJ arrives at Sami's bedside dressed in scrubs, wielding a rather frightening looking hypodermic syringe! He places a hand over her mouth and demands that she not scream. She agrees and once he removes his hand, she apologizes to him for what happened and blames Celeste for coercing her. EJ asks her why she couldn't kill him and she confesses that she kept thinking about their kiss and their connection and how she couldn't live without him. EJ doesn’t believe in her sincerity but she tells him she's sick of the act she's been putting on to hide her true identity from Lucas, Kate and Will. She tells him she's bored of Lucas and can't fight her feelings for him. "No matter what happened last night, I know you still want me," she says. EJ caresses her hand gently and kisses it as he holds the syringe behind his back! He glances over her body and tells her he could take her right here, right now. He asks her to lie quietly and think of how it felt for him, knowing that he was about to die. He pulls out the evil looking syringe and starts to inject the substance into her IV as she stares in horror. She shakily asks, "What's that for?" He lets her know that he warned her there would be consequences, and she begs him not to kill their baby. EJ says he would have given her more that she could have ever imagined and tells her, "All you get from me now is the afterlife. This is the final act for our little play." He notifies her that she has two minutes to enjoy her time on earth, and she panics. She tries to rip out the IV and screams for help, but EJ grabs the IV. He thinks it's ironic that she left him to burn and now she'll burn in hell! He kisses her hard and fast before departing out the door.

Lucas and two nurses come running into her room and she yells at them to remove her IV. She tells him that EJ was there and he poisoned her. Lucas and the nurses explain that her monitors are fine but she doesn't listen. Through tears, Sami tells Lucas that he's the best thing that has ever happened to him and says, "Your mother was right about me all along. I ruined everything. Everything I did was to protect you." Sami then passes out. The nurse checks her pulse. Sami comes to and chants, "I'm not dead. I'm not dead." Lucas tells her she's fine but under a lot of pressure. She denies that and says that it was real but Lucas doesn't understand why EJ would try to kill her. She says, "A, he's a psychopath, B, he's a psychopath and C, …" Lucas tells her that the DiMeras have a code and wants to know what exactly she did to make EJ want to kill her. Sami tells Lucas that she suddenly realizes that it must have been a dream. Lucas doesn't believe her and says that her story has more holes than the Grand Canyon. He says that he loves her and doesn't want to grill her and then asks her to come clean -now! They go back and forth and Lucas tells her that he has memorized their vows. He goes on to say that they're sacred and based on honesty. He promises that he'll understand and asks her not to fear the truth. Sami starts to say something but EJ interrupts and comes to give Sami flowers. He says he's happy to see Samantha is well. Lucas asks him to leave, but he retorts, "This is Samantha's room. If she wants me to leave, I will." He leaves it up to a shaken Sami to decide.

Celeste gasps, "Oh, dear God," when Kate tells her, "That's right. I discovered Sami's dirty little secret, 'dahling'". See you at the wedding!"

Sami says, "EJ, I can't take this anymore. If you're going to kill me just do it and get it over with."
