Thank you all so much for your prayers. My husband seems to be on the road to recovery, though we know this is something that will be with him the rest of his life, at least we now know what we have to do and that he will continue to have scar tissue on his lungs but hopefully the heart has not been affected yet and he is breathing on his own for more than one minute now and it is not labored. His color is also back, so thank you all again for your lovely prayers.

Posted by holdingonfordearlife at Thursday, June 13 2013 03:33 AM it your husband that has RA and a problem
with breathing and you are hoping he won't need oxygen

Oh dear...I see we were posting at the same time.

If it comes to your hubby needing oxygen 24/7...make
sure he get a long ole he can roam everywhere
he wants at home. And..I am sure you know...they have
4 hr. cylinders for when you road trip. Medicare covers
    all of that...and the machines.

It isn't easy....but it keeps us going....that and
    Amazing Grace.

Glad to see he is feeling better today! (smiles)

Thank you bearigan for the update. So happy your husband is better. I'll continue to pray for him.. As you already know, GOD can do ANYTHING.

Yeah, holdingonfordearlife, it is my husband. I think he will need to keep oxygen around for the times when the disease flares up. but I don't think at this time he will need it constantly. But if so we will make it work. He is a design engineer so his job is sitting so he does not have to exert much energy for that.

Holding they did bring him a long hose for the home tank and his travel tank too. Pretty amazing what they have to make people as comfortable as possible. He is not quite old enough for Medicare but he does have insurance through work.

    Everyone take care back later.

Posted by holdingonfordearlife at Thursday, June 13 2013 04:00 AM years of working......sure came in handy now...
that is....unless the gov. continues to use and abuse what
all of us workers have contributed to SS....seem's they
know how to borrow...but not how to replace!!

I only use a short hose for the going out one...because
that tank is on command only...not a constant running of
oxygen like the home one....I wouldn't want a long one
for going out to dinner and such. I carry the cylinder
in a tote bag and have it in my walker basket when we
go places...My walker keeps me from coming off like
    I might have been drinking...which I do not...I could
never walk the white line if I was pulled over..!!!

We did get followed thru town last week...think they
figured we had just left a when we came
onto the second street...the ole blue lights came
on behind me...he thought we might me lost....guess
he wanted to make sure we were not and that we had
on our seat belts....and didn't smell of Wild Turkey!!

    might "be" lost....not "me" lost....hahahahahaha!
    I'm sleepy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
