Will loses Alice's letter, Rafe gets the DNA test results back from the gloves, and Lucas helps John.
At SPD, Rafe gloats to Spencer about being ready to make an arrest. When the DNA tests are completed on the black gloves, he's sure they'll put Elvis away for murder. Rafe starts to worry about Gabi while in a secluded office, Daniel and Maggie stick close in their concern over Mel. Nicole searches the internet for any information on Melanie. Rafe turns up to try lightening the mood. He leaves and a lead turns up. Later, Nicole goes to find Rafe. She reminds herself she's with Daniel and actually likes him. Rafe turns up and asks if there's a problem and she says she's worried about her baby and Melanie. She hands over the file Maggie gave her. A spa customer cancelled when Melanie was off for the day. It's a lead he will follow up on. Rafe hugs Nicole in support and Daniel spots them together before returning to the office and promising Maggie they'll find Melanie. Maggie pets Daniel's hair and leaves as Nicole returns. Things are awkward and Nicole asks if he's avoiding her. Daniel wants to go back to being friends so he can concentrate on Melanie. Nicole cries as he tells her he doesn't need the drama. She assumes it's about Rafe. He just needs to focus on his daughter. Meanwhile, Spencer brings Rafe the test results which are what they wanted.
Will wanders into the pub alone and removes Alice's letter from the family safe just as Lucas happens along. He wants to talk about EJ but Will isn't interested. Lucas warns him about EJ but Will insists EJ's innocent. Will goes to take a call and leaves his bag behind. Lucas finds Alice's letter and reads it.
Sami wakes up alone, searching the condo for Lucas. A knock comes and she opens the door in her nightie saying, "Come back to bed Lucas." EJ's eyes bug out as he takes in her attire. Flustered, she tries covering up. He wants to see the kids. Syd asks why EJ's so sad. He assures her it's not possible to be sad when he's with her. Syd needs to get ready for gymnastics and runs off. He tries telling Sami he's as cool as a cucumber but she snorts that he shouldn't lie to liar. He receives a call from Will and gives Sami a quick peck goodbye before leaving.
Abe visits Marlena and John at the townhouse. They discuss John taking over DiMera Enterprises as John takes a call. "What a sweet, sweet place Salem would be," Marlena gushes. Abe's glad Stefano's dead but would have loved to have seen his face after he learned what John's up to. Abe's grateful that John's a DiMera but EJ will never be like John or Lexi. Abe asks for Marlena's help in making a toast to Lexi at the fundraiser coming up. John hangs up from another shareholder no further ahead. He refuses to give up. Abe asks if Marlena's fine with John being a DiMera. Being a DiMera doesn't change who John is and she claims to have no problem with it. John takes a fast call and learns Brady is in rehab because Ian's been drugging him. "The SOB is going to pay," John promises.
Sami finds Lucas at the pub. He hangs up from Rafe after setting up a meeting and grinning, and tells Sami that EJ killed Stefano. He runs off promising to call later. Sami looks up to see a man installing a camera above the bar. She asks the man if there was a break-in. He explains it's simply for security and he's been installing them all over town. He jokes, "Be careful. I have my eye on you." Sami races out.
Will finds EJ at home and blasts him for lying to him about the gloves. EJ insists he is being set up. Will asks if he's been lying to him. EJ isn't going to tell him again. "I did not kill Stefano." Will says innocent people go to jail all the time. If EJ's not careful that could be him. EJ's not concerned. He's a lawyer. It won't be hard to convince a jury that there is plenty of reasonable doubt. Will thinks they need to get their stories straight and goes for Alice's letter. It's gone. He panics.
Lucas shows up on John's doorstep as Abe takes off. Lucas holds Alice's letter and tells John he has the key to the entire DiMera empire.
