Unfinished Business. Tuesday, June 12 2012

Will gets bailed out, Marlena is still tormented, and Roman makes a request of Rafe.

At the station, Will is told the person who posted his bail is there. EJ appears. Will is puzzled and asks if this means he has his job back. EJ says it was a humanitarian gesture and has conditions. EJ says, "Once again, William, I own you." Will tells him to forget it - his family will post bail. EJ talks about the case against Will and threatens to reveal that he knows how to handle a firearm and used one before on him. He also threatens to tell them Stefano was blackmailing him - so there's motive. Will concedes he actually liked working for EJ, and asks him to put him back on the payroll. EJ says it's not that simple - he has to earn back trust. Will informs EJ he doesn't exactly hold all the cards. He knows things EJ wouldn't want made public. EJ says he's foolish to threaten him, and reminds him it didn't work out the last time he bluffed him. He counter threatens Will, and asks if he'll work for him or not.

Roman and Kent visit John and Marlena at home. Roman says he didn't want them to hear on the news that they've arrested Will. He fills them in on the evidence. Marlena says she'd stake her life he didn't do it. Roman wonders if that's because she knows who did. John smirks and challenges Roman to arrest them. Roman rants about how serious this is - they can't afford to make a mistake. Marlena says he already has. Roman argues that Will looks guilty. John thinks he's hoping to provoke one of them into confessing. Roman denies it, but thinks someone is lying. Roman takes a call and says EJ posted Will's bail - he's out. They're all suspicious of EJ's motives. As they argue, Marlena accuses Roman of only caring about Stefano right now. Roman asks if she's kidding. He says he has no choice in this and challenges her to help him solve the case. Roman tells them he hopes Will is cleared - his gut tells him this case will chew up a few other people. After, Marlena recalls telling Stefano she hates him. She tells John that Stefano is still tormenting them.

At the pub, Lucas and Sami brainstorm about how to help Will. Lucas says no one must ever find out that Will shot EJ. Sami notices Rafe beside them. He tells them he's back on the force. Sami says he has to make Roman see how ridiculous it is to arrest Will. Rafe admits he doesn't think Will did it - he won't stop looking for the killer. Rafe suggests they call Carrie to be Will's lawyer. Sami says she can't trust her. Rafe says Carrie could help Will, but Sami obviously can't stop thinking about herself. Sami has a fit, and is about to storm out when Rafe learns Will's out on bail.

Lucas, Rafe, and Sami arrive at the station, where Will tells them EJ paid his bail. Sami wants to know why. EJ claims he just wanted to help. Sami says they'll pay him back. Lucas isn't convinced. He says EJ fired Will, so why help him now? Sami asks Will to explain. Will shrugs that he's a free man and they owe EJ a 'thank you'. Lucas takes Rafe aside and asks if he's buying this. Rafe admits he has questions, and suspects EJ knows something he's not telling them. He encourages Lucas to enlist Carrie's help. Roman arrives and talks to Rafe alone about EJ posting bail - it makes Will look guiltier. Rafe says EJ's up to something. Roman feels Will's hiding something - why would he work for EJ? Rafe thinks he was punishing Sami, but ended up enjoying the perks. Roman talks about being too emotionally connected to the case - he wants Rafe to take over. After some convincing, Rafe agrees.

Sami and Will arrive at home. Lucas follows. Sami wants to get their story straight. Will realizes Sami told Lucas that Stefano was blackmailing him. Will gets a call from EJ about their unfinished business. Will lets him know he can't talk, and assures him he'll continue to be loyal. Will tells Sami it was Sonny.
