EJ kisses Sami, Hope and John try to trick Stefano, and Will comes out to Sonny.
Will walks into Sonny's cafe after closing time and helps clean up. As he works, Will shares his day. "Ran some errands this morning, tried to sleep through my calc lecture, came out to my grandma, went to the gym..." Sonny's head snaps up. He congratulates his friend for coming out. His gaydar went off a while before Will's kiss with his buddy cemented things. Will's worried about telling his dad. Sonny jokes about Lucas catching him horsing around with the resident homo and tells him about coming out to his own parents. When Will outright refuses to tell Sami because she's so self-centered, Sonny suggests he doesn't use coming out as a weapon. Will considers his words and thanks him for helping him. They share a hug and Will stares back at Sonny when he leaves.
Kate paces at the mansion while flashing to sex with Ian. He arrives and Kate has a bird. She's not going to leave Stefano for him. He must go!
In Alamaina, Stefano calls his goon Francesco to apologize for shooting the messenger. He knew testing Kate would be a risk and he'll never forgive her. Meanwhile, in their room, John and Hope open the egg to find a golden coin with a series of letters and numbers engraved on it. John calls it their ticket home. They go out to create a fake coin and return.
Sami unpacks at her new apartment and removes her wedding band. EJ arrives and grabs her forcibly into a kiss. She resists at first but responds for a while before pushing him away. She yells asking what he's doing. He wanted to prove that there was nothing romantic lingering between the two of them. She reminds him she despises him from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. He's trying to figure out why they keep turning to each other. Normal people weep together but they made love. She denies love being a part of it. They had 'grief sex' and it was one of the worst nights of her life. They agree they're toxic together but need to find a way to co-exist without screwing things up for their kids. When Sami mentions her plumbing is broken, EJ asks for a big wrench before getting to work. Sami talks about missing Rafe before the pipe bursts and EJ gets wet. She laughs, he removes his shirt and towels off and notices she took her wedding ring off. She's obviously affected by his nudity and he smirks when she tells him not to take the pants off. Later, she looks at photos of her wedding and mopes. EJ tells her he's not ready to let go of Nicole. Sami bemoans this being her fifth ruined marriage and EJ chuckles. Elizabeth Taylor holds the record. He thinks this makes her lovable. They agree to keep their relationship platonic.
Back at the mansion, Kate is flustered by Ian when she answers a call from Stefano. He taunts her a little and then tells her about spying on Marlena in order to get to John. Kate covers her tears as he puts on the act of the loving husband before hanging up and calling her a bitch. Kate tells Ian she made a mistake. She rails at him for ruining her life. He leaves but refuses to give up on her.
Back in Alamaina, Hope tosses the Anastasia egg to Stefano when he and his goon arrive. John asks if he and the princess can leave. Stefano finds the coin inside the egg and gives them their fake passports. Hope will be Lili Faversham and John's Father John once again. They tell Stefano they're off for Paris and take off. They later get in line at the airport for a flight to Salem that has been delayed. Meanwhile, back in their room, Stefano realizes the coin is a fake. He yells at someone on the phone not to let them get on that plane. He knows they know who they really are. Back at the airport, before they can get on the flight, a call comes in.
