Kate warns Lucas, Hope learns the truth about John, and Bo and Roman are attacked.
In the pub, Kate recovers from seeing Lucas with Sami. He tells her that he's come to support Sami and the kids because she's having a tough time. Kate is livid that he'd let the little bitch get her hooks into him again. Stunned at her words, Lucas says he thought they were getting along. Kate backtracks and apologizes. Lucas questions whether Kate has ulterior motives for hiring Sami. Kate denies it. Sami excuses herself. Lucas says to Kate, "The more things change, the more they stay the same, Mom." He asks her to stop acting like he's twelve. Kate asks about his fiancee. He's not keen for Kate to meet her. He reiterates that he came for the kids too - he's concerned about Will. Kate doesn't want to see Sami drag him down again. Lucas asks for the truth about Sami working for her.
At the hospital, Jennifer thinks about Daniel brushing her off earlier. She enters his office and says she wants to be sure everything is okay. Jennifer asks what he did while he was gone. He laughs that he surfed, went to a medical convention, and surfed some more. Daniel apologizes for not keeping in touch better. He admits he was worried about seeing her again - his heart can't handle being crushed again. Jennifer moves to leave, but Daniel stops her. Daniel tells her that he realized maybe they weren't meant to be, but seeing her again has made him certain - he no longer has those feelings. He asks if they can be friends. Jennifer wants that always.
In the square, Bo tells Hope over the phone that he misses her and he's doing this thing with Marone. Roman appears and asks him what he thinks he's doing. Bo says he wants to get the Marones out of town. Roman reminds him he's not assigned to the Marone stakeout and warns him not to go rogue. Bo says the Marones have informants in the P.D. He wants Roman to work with him on this. Roman tells Bo he's got a warrant for the warehouse and asks him to join him. Bo's in. As they head off, they are attacked from behind by thugs. Roman comes to, and tries to rouse Bo, who finally coughs.
In Alamania, John and Hope are in the room where they found Walsh dead. John says he feels Walsh was taken out because of him. Hope says it's not his fault. John is determined to link this to Stefano. Hope wants to know the whole story before someone else ends up dead. John admits he's still with the ISA. Hope is angry about the news. John says he agreed to join again because the ISA told him there was something big was going on in the DiMera camp. Hope is worried that the case could involve them. John admits he was warned they should watch their backs. John thinks Stefano wants Marlena. Hope is stunned to learn that Marlena doesn't know John's back with the ISA. John tells Hope that everything she knows is confidential. She wants to help. John won't put her at risk. Hope says she'll take care of herself - he can't do this alone.
Still at the pub, Kayla asks Sami about seeing Lucas again, and about Kate. Sami muses that people can change. Kayla counters that it doesn't happen often. At a table, Kate insists to Lucas that she appreciates Sami at work, she just doesn't want him with her again. Lucas reminds her that he and Sami are bonded for life - they're friends. Kate warns him to be careful. Lucas walks over to tell Sami he'll call her later. Kate makes nice, but watches, upset, as Sami hugs Lucas goodbye. Sami turns back to Kayla and tells her the kids will be thrilled to see Lucas. Kayla wonders if Sami's upset that Lucas is engaged. Sami insists she's fine. Roman bursts in dragging Bo. Sami calls for help and Kayla tells Bo not to dare die. Roman says Marone's men attacked them. Kayla does CPR and Bo has convulsions.
In the square, Kate tells Lucas she has big plans. He marvels again about her working with Sami.
