Daniel returns, Nicole gets the shock of her life, and Will opens up to Sonny.

From outside the pub, Sonny leaves Will a message to return his call.

At the square, Nicole stares, crying as she sees EJ's name come up on her cell phone. She is surprised when Daniel approaches her. He just flew in. He notices how upset she is and offers to listen. She refuses to but welcomes him home. When she stands up, she promptly faints.

Carrie walks into her office to an agitated Rafe, who tells her his marriage has been a lie. Sami cheated on him with EJ. Outraged, he kicks some boxes across the room and tells her the rest of the story. Carrie's shocked that Sami would cheat. She knows Sami must have been out of her mind with grief. Rafe wonders if it was his fault. Carrie assures him it isn't and is sorry she contributed to some of the issues in his life. Rafe rushes to her defense and rants about Sami's lies. Carrie points out that Sami must have felt incredibly guilty. Rafe is surprised she still gives Sami the benefit of the doubt. Suddenly, Carrie grabs him and his coat and takes him to the pub.

Sami barges into Marlena's townhouse, accusing her mother of telling Rafe the truth and ruining her marriage. Marlena's sorry but she didn't do it. Will too says he didn't say anything. They ponder how Rafe found out until Sami again accuses Marlena. Will points out that this is Sami's mistake and she needs to take responsibility. Will wants to leave. Sami sarcastically tells him she's sorry to have interrupted their conversation. Marlena tells her to shut up and asks Will to continue their talk. He refuses to do so in front of Sami. He leaves and Marlena reminds Sami that for years, Will has been the parent in the relationship but it's Sami's turn to be the parent Will deserves. Sami begs Marlena to tell her what's wrong with her son but Marlena can't betray his trust. She's surprised Sami hasn't seen signs of what's going on with Will. Sami cries and worries something is wrong with him. Marlena thinks Will is going to be fine. They argue a while and Sami runs off, saying she's going to put her family together. "Without you in it!" Marlena grins.

Nicole wakes up in the hospital with Daniel at her side. He ran some tests. Did she eat today? She replies that she did but had an emotionally exhausting evening. Daniel decides to sit with her. Nicole thought he disliked her. Daniel explains, he didn't like the company she kept, not her. Nicole groans. "EJ." She wonders why she doesn't learn. She shares the whole story about how EJ broke her heart by cheating on her with Sami. Daniel didn't see that coming. He's sorry. Nicole thinks she deserves it. Daniel thinks that's crazy but Nicole feels foolish. She gets hysterical and Daniel hugs her, and calls her brave for opening her heart again. Daniel offers to get her released. She didn't know he still worked there. Neither did he. He smiles and leaves. When he returns, he tells her she's pregnant.

Sonny finds Will on a bench at the square. He tells him about opening up to Marlena and how she suspected he was gay but Sami interrupted and accused them of telling Rafe that she had sex with EJ. Will thinks it's official. He has no family left. Sonny feels bad but is glad Will doesn't have to carry around that burden anymore. Sonny mistakenly thinks Will came out to his grandma but Will argues that just because he kissed a guy doesn't make him gay. Sonny apologizes. He thought Will had things figured out for himself. Will cries as he admits he thought in time his feelings would go away. He's scared. Sonny promises it'll be alright. Will didn't plan this, he says but Sonny retorts, "No one plans to be gay. It's just the card you're dealt." Will worries his family won't accept him but Sonny thinks he's worrying for nothing. He remembers having the same doubts and fears Will had. Sonny promises it does get easier but the first thing Will needs to do is accept himself. Sonny will always be there for him.

Rafe and Carrie eat lunch at the pub while she gives him advice. She tells him about Caroline's affair with Victor. Rafe knew but he didn't know that Caroline kept it a secret for ages. Carrie claims she was only a child when that secret came out but Shawn Sr. forgave Caroline, eventually. Carrie talks about toughing it out. Rafe assumes she's talking about her own marriage and is glad she's trying to work things out. She tells him they're planning a romantic getaway. She urges him to stick it out with Sami.
