EJ bests Nicole, Abe tries besting EJ, and two couples argue.

Bo brings Hope her practice range target to the pub. He assumes she got out her frustrations. Doug and Julie pop in. They're told the whole story about the safe deposit box that Stefano shared with Alice and how Hope chickened out when it came down to opening it up. Doug and Julie have found a bank in Africa which is the end point of the bank transfers. They are going to Africa to check it out and will make it a second honeymoon. Hope argues that their life is a second honeymoon. Julie concurs.

Carrie and Austin make out at the hotel. Carrie refuses sex. They'll be late for work. A crushed Austin misses being with her and tries to make a date. Carrie's too busy and Austin finds it's becoming a trend. She stood him up twice last night. Carrie's sorry. She blames getting her new business up and running but he recalls a time when they were students and always found time for each other. They clear their schedule for Thursday.

At the loft, Sami gleefully confesses to Rafe about being a mole for Madison. Rafe is pissed reminds her they renewed their vows. They promised to be open and honest to each other about everything. "We've been living a lie." They argue and Sami gloats that she's good at it. "Oh so you're excelling at this 9-5 at deceit and betrayal?" he says, frustrated. She notes that cops go undercover like this all the time. Rafe says it's different and this is more like something EJ would do. Sami defends herself. "You don't get to question me when I do what my boss tells me to do." He can't believe she's finding ways to justify this. He points out that she caught Johnny in a lie and told him lying is never right. Sami thought Rafe used to like how unpredictable she was. He does and is sorry he's not jumping up and down congratulating her on her new career path as a corporate spy. What she's doing is illegal and he's worried. Has she forgotten she's doing this to Kate? A DiMera? Sami's got an exit strategy. Rafe tells her that when you take a job, the team comes first. Sami lashes out. Does that apply to him and Carrie now? She comes first now? "You've got to be kidding me," Rafe says. He denies that and takes off to work. Sami bites her lip, fighting back tears.

Will drops off an envelope for EJ at the mansion. Nicole stops him before he leaves and asks him to spy on the campaign for her. She wants him to tell her what's going on with the campaign and says she has already paid him in advance. She hands over a receipt from money she slipped into his account this morning. There's more if she can count on him.

EJ spots Lexi at the square and asks to discuss the campaign. He's met with bitterness. He's trying to bridge the gap between them. Lexi spits that her real family is Abe and Theo because it's always about love and trust. With EJ and Stefano it's about contrition, demands and betrayals. EJ's trying to change but Lexi doesn't think it's possible of him to be anything like Abe. She swats him and tells him he made her choose.

Abe meets Jenn at Alice's. He is ready to fight fire with fire as far as his mayoral campaign goes. Jenn tells Abe EJ has arranged to get the debate questions beforehand and she wants to get the questions in advance as well as long as Abe signs off on it. Abe doesn't mind being aggressive but doesn't like outright cheating. Jenn pleads with him. He never dreamed he'd resort to tactics such as this but he knows how much damage EJ would do as a mayor to the city he loves. He contemplates it and in the end tells Jenn to go ahead. She hates it too but, "It's for the greater good," she tells him. He implores her to keep it from Lexi. Abe doesn't think it'll be enough to level the playing field so asks if EJ can be fed the wrong questions. Jenn says it can't be done. Lexi arrives and they clam up.
EJ arrives home to Will stuffing his back pocket with the receipt from Nicole. Nicole tells EJ it's "a lock" and delivery's in a few hours. She leaves and Will tells EJ it went as he said it should. Will shows him the receipt. "That's my girl," EJ says. Will found it exciting. He's never been bribed before. EJ pats him on the back and laughs. "So dysfunctional but I love her for it," EJ tells Will with a smile.

Salem Spoilers For The Next Days Of Our Lives:
"I know Victor is very anxious to hear my decision," Madison says. "So you've made one?" Victor asks.
"You know I don't mean to pressure you about anything," Sonny tells Will.
"You know how you can make this right? Walk away from this job," Rafe tells Sami.
