Abby and Austin spend time together, Daniel says good-bye to Maggie and Mel, and Marlena threatens EJ.
At the square Marlena warns Will about the DiMera’s. Abby rushes over gushing about his new car. When she leaves, Will admits that EJ bought him the car. He passes it off as no big deal but Marlena declares that EJ is trying to buy him, corrupt him. Marlena believes he might be working with EJ to punish Sami and that he can quit. He doesn’t deny that part of it is because of Sami but states he can’t quit as Marlena begs him to get out because she would never forgive herself if Stefano or EJ ever hurt him. Will doesn’t want it to come between them and Marlena assures him that nothing ever will. Nearby Austin runs into Abby. He realizes he can’t live another minute without doing this and plants a kiss on her. She swoons and says, "I have to be dreaming." As they profess their love for each other Austin happens by for real and snaps Abby out of her daydream. He remarks that she looks kind of spaced out. She claims to just be frazzled before sharing that she might get an internship with Madison. Austin mentions that he can get a new assistant since she’s so busy but Abby wants to keep her job with him. She convinces him to not go back to the office declaring they have everything they need to work right there. Austin wonders if she’s only trying to distract herself from thinking of Chad. She denies it and jokingly replies that she’s worried he might undo the work she’s done. Soon Austin takes a call from Carrie who can’t meet him later. After doing some work, Austin asks Abby for dinner and she happily accepts.
At the mansion Nicole keeps pressing EJ for information about Will. He tries to brush her off but she relentless. She wonders what the intrigue is with him. She perseveres and brings up the theft of Abe’s job plan before announcing that she thought they were on the same team. She thinks they’re falling into old habits of secrets and lies. She just wants him to be honest. After EJ leaves to do a phone interview Nicole returns a call about EJ’s files only to find out that Will’s car is registered under Will’s name. EJ comes back and tries to use her tablet and phone but Nicole hides them in the sofa before distracting him with sex. After, Nicole calls Will to set up a private meeting. Later after Nicole leaves Marlena shows up to confront EJ. She demands to know what he’s doing with Will. She brings up his failed class action suit against John and tells him that if he wants to target someone in her family to go after her. They banter back and forth before Marlena brings up the car EJ bought Will. She doesn’t understand why he’s trying to buy him off. He claims that Will came to him and it’s not a conspiracy. She keeps pressing him until he states that Will may not have DiMera blood he's family. She thinks he’s lost his mind. Marlena threatens that she’ll see EJ and his father dead before she lets them destroy Will’s life.
At Intensity Mel comps Maggie’s spa treatment and asks her to lunch. Maggie sees through her so Mel admits that she doesn’t want her to be alone on Mickey’s birthday. Maggie isn’t sad anymore but is grateful for what she has.
Victor and Daniel chat outside the pub. Victor thinks Daniel is making a huge mistake with his decision and wonders how it’s going to affect Mel and Maggie. Soon they meet the women inside for lunch. Daniel thanks them for coming before announcing he’s leaving Salem. A saddened Mel thinks he’s kidding but Daniel tells her he needs time to regroup and when she brings up saving lives he declares he needs to save his own life now. Mel cries out that he’s leaving her just when she found the dad she’s wanted all her life. Victor asks Maggie if she’s okay but she shakes her head declaring they are family and no distance can change that. Later outside the pub, Maggie hugs Daniel while telling him how much she’ll miss him then he holds a teary Mel while assuring her that he loves being her father.
Nicole meets up with Will in the square. She exuberantly welcomes him to the campaign team while sharing that he’s been a great help so far. She brings up her bad relationship with Sami and warns him to keep his family business at home. Will asks what else there is and Nicole tells him there’s something she needs him to do.

Bo announces that he just figured out how to get to Stefano.
Sami toasts Madison while saying, "Remind me of something...never to get on your bad side."
Gabi wonders if Melanie would ever consider hooking up with Chad.
