My most favorite story line goes way back when Eve and Nick were on the show. I loved that love story. So sweet, back when I was innocent just like "Eve"...

Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson caught up with J.R. and Karina after their big night, where he spoke about being an inspiration to others.

"My war was in the military over in Iraq, but a lot of people face a different kind of war in everyday life and it's not easy. But you just have to remember that there's a goal at the end. There's light at the end. You just gotta keep fighting through every single day," he said. "You gotta push through and not give up and know at the end of the day you're going to be the top of the leader board."

Earlier during the show, the veteran-turned-actor raved about working with Karina and getting to know his fellow contestants and their pro partners.

"I have an amazing, amazing partner and she's so talented to teach me all things she's taught me, it's been an absolute pleasure," he said. "It's a pleasure to be here with all these dancers and just go on this journey."

As his "DWTS" journey begins, another chapter in his life, "All My Children," where he's played former combat veteran and policeman Brot Monroe since 2008, is coming to an end this week as the ABC soap ends its run.

"If it wasn't for 'All My Children' I wouldn't even be considered to be here, to be a part of this amazing cast. I'm so grateful for what 'All My Children' did for me, and the fans, the loyal fans," he told Shaun. "It is sad that it is going to end this week. It's been kind of an emotional rollercoaster, but at the same time, I understand new opportunities and new goals and you gotta just go out there and do it."

Hello ladies, I've been gone for awhile Missed you all, but I'm back to hear what your thoughts are re the DOOL reboot!

bghwme, those are all feel good stories, and yes, we all love those exact kinds of scenarios. I just think that the other Passions stuff was down right ridiculously hilarious.

Everlena1973, I was not watching back then.

Holdingonfordearlife, wow, that actor sounds like he has been through the ringer, but came out the other end all the better for it. Good for him and his attitude towards appreciating life!

Hi savesoapspls...welcome back, although I have to say my memory is fuzzy, and I don't recall reading you before...although, I have been here less than a year myself

Very exciting times, so a very good time to come back and catch up!

savesoapspls - Welcome backkk !! I would love to hear your thoughts on the new 'Days' to come.

bghwme - I like that stuff too. I'm just saying that DOOL was very popular in the 90's because it took risks. Whether you like JER's storytelling or not, he changed the industry. He created supercouples. I don't want DOOL to be realistic all the time. I want to be dragged into my tv screen with compelling, dramatic storytelling. And yes I believe that a little bit craziness would make Days even better. But I think that I'm in the minority here.

The Engineer Mom - I don't want witches, devils and dwarves in Salem lol. I liked passions but I agree that it was one big joke. However it managed to never bore me !

I agree that I don't want sci-fi in my soaps...but boy do they have Stephano pushing that envelope often...he has been mind altering and face altering and memory erasing for years...LOL! Where is Rolf when you need him?!

I am not into the Halloween type characters either, that is just not even conspiracy theory believable...LOL!

I am all about a good conspiracy theory. I guess technically, the CIA and other government agencies have been testing that mind altering kin of stuff for decades. So, as out there as it is, it is possible...probable, eh...but certainly possible...LOL!

Now, on that note...don;t laugh your tooshies off, I believe in Vampires...I think I was traumatized after the black and white film Nosferatu! Trippy!

Ok, I have to ask...who gets married with their own wedding invitation in their pocket? I thought that was a little off story wise.
