This week we saw a balance between romance, deception, and criminal activity. Still, stories are pretty watered-down and predictable but thankfully, Stefano's back, which should liven things up.
John’s back in town with a plan to get Brady away from Kristen and to treat his non-wife Marlena like dirt. He’s been gone so long it’s almost easy to forget why he is so angry. The longer he holds this grudge, the easier it makes it for Marlena to seek solace not just in Roman's arms... But his bed.
Like every week for the past month or so, simpering Jennifer spent time jumping to conclusions where Daniel was concerned. The lack of trust is astounding and it grates on the nerves that Jenn appears so completely helpless that she needs "cuz," Maxine, and Maggie to tell her what to do. Doesn’t she have a mind of her own? What happened to this investigative reporter who can no longer find a clue if it was shoved down her throat?
Fans are already complaining about Nancy’s nostalgic return. It’s had its moments and Nancy can be loads of fun. Between her, Anne, and Chloe, there has been some comedic relief but Chloe’s return doesn’t seem to have the desired effect which we gather was to prop Jenn and Daniel as a couple. Some fans are actually siding with Chloe to get her man when she’s not even going to be around after April. If the majority doesn’t care for Dannifer, why force things? And why write a storyline when we already know the endgame?
Stefano’s return didn’t get a lot of fanfare from his family. He asked them all to move in with him which could be fun for story fodder. Already, it’s providing a bit of entertainment. Kristen was speaking to Stefano about her plans for Brady, John, and Marlena out in the open – not in the secret room, where they’d at least have some privacy. Brady eavesdropped yet he’s so daft that he seemed to hear nothing. Or maybe he did hear the whole thing and is considering his options?
Nah, he’s clueless.
In an unprecedented move, Sami’s merry men were all in her life this week and getting along with her. It’s a relief to see her and Rafe civil, and her humourous friendship with Lucas resumed. It was even refreshing that Samanther and EJ don’t need to keep secrets from one another. EJ even gloated to Stefano about it. But wait. EJ did keep secrets from Samanther. He didn’t tell her about Stefano’s return. Why lie about that considering she’d have found out anyway?
Sami convinced Lucas to break into the SPD’s evidence room in order to gather whatever evidence was somehow gathered from her Keystone cop relatives yet not processed. "It's not like we're going to take real evidence that they need for real criminals," because Will shooting EJ in the back isn’t a crime and he's not a real criminal. Okay. Lucas went along with Sami's plan because he knows if they were caught nothing would happen. And that's just what happened when Rafe went by the corrupt Brady police handbook and let them go. He obviously still trusts her. It seems Sami trusts Rafe still as well and wanted to let him in on the blackmail. EJ used a bit of brute force to order her to keep quiet on the subject and she didn't like that. Was this about jealousy or does he know Rafe won’t do anything too ‘DiMeraly’ if needed to Nick? Maybe a little of both.
Sami's little fantasy about what life would be like in the DiMera mansion if she lived there with Kristen was pretty funny right down to the clothing and hairstyle choices. Speaking of hair, is the pink streak in Sami’s hair supposed to be some sort of statement that Sami and Kate are getting more similar by the day?
Will attempted to tell Gabi who Nick really is but she already knows. She's just not admitting it to herself. She didn't even fight Nick when he decided Will wasn't going to be a part of their wedding. More and more it's easier to feel she deserves Nick at least in a small way.
With Sonny's instruction, Will's finally seeing that Nick is a sociopath but it's difficult to decipher how this knowledge is going to help him. Where this story is going is anyone's guess.
What to say about Nick and Gabi's wedding? Her dress was horrid, her hair was gorgeous, and she's marrying a snake. It was sort of a waste of seeing characters we actually like!
"I can't risk losing you again."
If Father Eric didn't figure it out by now, he has to have clued in that Nicole is in love with him based on that line alone!
Let's leave things on a positive note. Vote! Which DOOL story was the best this week?
