    Meddling Mothers. (NBC)
    Deconstructing "DOOL" from January 21-25:

It was a short week filled with contention. Blake Berris continued to blow everyone away with what he’s doing with Nick, which is evident by all of the ‘hate Nick’ threads in the forums, Rafe vowed he was done with Sami and we believed him this time, and all the while Gabi and Will learned they’re having a daughter. That means it’s time to vote. Help Gabi and Will name their baby.

    What trust.
Daniel acted in a surprising way twice this week by being so protective of Chloe and jumping to conclusions thinking Her Royal Hortonness of all people would call CPS on Chloe behind his back. Is this a taste of what's to come for Jenn? Anne and Chloe's satisfaction over their ridiculous plot to separate Dan from Jenn was laughable. Someone should tell Chloe she should have went to a DiMera for a real scheme in her quest to break up Dannifer.

    Will's enthusiasm...
It was good to see Will as giddy as a school girl after things became more real during the ultrasound and confirmation of the child’s sex. He even succeeded at bringing forth my excitement a little, which if Nick gets what he wants, means it's about to hit the fan, because nobody can be happy for too long in Salem.

Has anyone noticed that Nick only likes Gabi?

Out with Rafe; In with EJ. (NBC)
    "How’s it going Granny?"
It was so easy for Nic Nic to press Sami’s buttons because Sami was a little vulnerable. Nicole should have called Sami "Kate" instead and watched Sami’s head spin 360 degrees and then blow right off. Sami was so preoccupied with Will that she really didn’t get any good barbs in there. She must have been saving them all up for Rafe. Like Chloe and Nicole, Rafe and Sami said things that I’m not sure can ever be taken back. We’ve seen Sami blow up to Rafe about Gabi and to EJ about Kristen but the men's reactions to each dressing down felt as though they had swapped brains. Rafe is usually the voice of reason while EJ’s more volatile. Of course this makes it easy for Sami to run in EJ’s direction. Do you think Sami will really take Lucas’ recommendations to stay out of Will’s love-life and try to get on good terms with Gabi and Rafe?

These two being apart is hopefully going to give Sonny more layers. Wounded, Sonny shuffled through the week in a coma. All he could say is that it felt like "forever-ago" that he was with Will. He perked up a little during that passionate kiss Will laid on him. He could teach Sami a thing or two about willpower and level-headedness.

Adrienne showed her true colours concerning her feelings for Will being with her precious son. Why did she go to Sami to bellyache about her son’s pain over Will’s lies? The mothers need to stay out of their adult children’s problems. They should take their cues from Lucas and Justin and let the guys figure out their own love-life.

John and Marlena's bittersweet goodbye was quite poignant. Marlena could have easily blamed Brady but she took sole responsibility. Will she come clean with the real reason John's at odds with her?

    Hi Chrissi.............its 8:49 pm Friday...and I'm
just getting on this blog. As did great!!

I cannot imagine that couple will be a lasting couple...
doesn't matter how much flirting they do before they
do the camel walk.....they haven't figured it out just
yet....that it isn't the good sex that bonds a couple....
nor is it children that are seldom in your presence!!

Geez...Days is so good lately! Psycho Nick, forever immature Sami, sweet-but-a-little-messed-up-Will, selfish Gabi, sexy EJ/Eric/Rafe, wicked Kristen,goody-two-shoes Jenn, etc. etc. Lots of fun to watch! Lots of characters to love/hate! What an improvement from a year ago. Now give Nicole more of a life (not with Father chemistry plus too predictable) and Hope, too. And how about Abe turns to Maxine for comfort? She and Lucas are the most sane citizens of Salem. Keep the improved writing coming!

I feel sorry for Gabi because I can't think of anyone else on the show that is sane enough to help take care of the baby; maybe Rafe. Hope they don't get custody away from Gabi but if Nick brings forth evidence about Will it might bring out the stuff against Gabi.
Between Sami and Andrianne not sure which is the most annoying.
I do hope they change Nick, not sure why they have made him this way unless it is something that happened in prison. He is supposed to confess to Gabi what happened to him soon. Maybe after that comes out or he goes to see Marlena maybe he will be a good guy again.
Kristen is so scary, can hardly wait for them to bring her down. It probably won't be until the Spring or after Brady marries her he will see what a mistake he made.

I am glad I am not the only one seeing Nick only Likes Gabi. I think he wants to cover for his prison life and how it left him. The man is homophobic for a reason, and it ain't for lusting after future-mama. He is doing what he tried accusing Will of-sleeping with Gabi to prove his manhood. It will all come out, pun intended, in the wash.

    Hey guys!

Yeah I long ago gave up on all couples and couldn't care less who is put together because the show never allows us five minutes with any couple to take that time to root for them. Especially Sami who runs from one guy to the next if she doesn't get her own way.

It will be nice if the writers finally stop writing Ejami as just parental figures and 'almost' bedmates. We've never seen them as a couple and I doubt these new writers know what to do with them just as they don't know what to do with any couple on our show. It's sad.

So nice to hear someone enjoying the show, Salemite1. Good point about Lucas and Maxine. They're pretty level-headed.

Doris, I hadn't thought that far in advance yet about Gabi's parental abilities. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop but I guess she'd be fine. Rafe would help her though if everything came out, I do wonder who would get custody!

Snanax4 I know something happened in prison but am not sure what it is. I don't know if it has to do with sex or if he's just ingrained not to be open to gays. The actor is really playing it well. I often loathe Nick. HAHA!
