Interview: Days Of Our Lives' Melissa Reeves.

    Friday, December 02 2011

"In their mind, they're doing it for the greater good."

Soaps.com recently talked with "Days of our Lives'" Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) about the men in her alter ego's life, as well as the mayoral campaign that is heating things up in Salem.

Soaps.com: At this point, Jennifer is torn between Jack [Matthew Ashford] and Daniel [Shawn Christian]. Is she truly in love with both men?

Melissa: You know what? I asked so many people, because I thought, 'That's not possible. How can that be possible?' I had so many people say to me, 'You know what? I've been in a situation like that where I loved two people and I didn't know what to do.' I was like, 'Really? Tell me about it,' because I don't have a reality on that. I don't know what that's like. It was good to hear different people's take on you can feel that way. It's sort of sad and tragic because you think, oh my goodness, all three of these people are in the same boat of not wanting to hurt each other.

Soaps.com: How will she ultimately choose between them and do you see that happening any time soon?

Melissa: I have no idea. I wouldn't want to be the writers right now. I just think it's so hard. I have no idea how it's going to pan out. I really don't. It's going to be interesting. And hard. It will be hard, hurtful, but I love working with two men who love their job and are so good at what they do. It makes my job really easy.

Soaps.com: What are the hurdles for Jennifer if she goes back to Jack?

Melissa: I guess just rebuilding. Just starting over and rebuilding. Which, they've loved each other for years, so it wouldn't be a giant hurdle, I don’t think. They know each other really well, so it would just be a rebuilding time.

Soaps.com: What would the hurdles be if she went forward with Daniel?

    M. Reeves (NIkki Nelson/WENN.com)
Melissa: I'm sure there would be hurdles. They're sort of in that honeymoon stage of still just falling in love, so there's not a ton of hurdles yet. Of course, there would be. That's what makes great story. I hope there's tons of hurdles.

Soaps.com: It would be boring if there wasn't.

    Melissa: That's right. That's right.

Soaps.com: What would your advice for Jennifer be?

Melissa: Maybe just take advice from everyone that she knows. Let people around her help her make a decision.

Soaps.com: Jennifer is also on the campaign trail with Abe [James Reynolds], but she's a very nice, pleasant person. How is going to go up against Nicole [Arianne Zucker] and EJ [James Scott] who are not?

Melissa: I know. It's pretty intense. It's really intense. [laughs] Jennifer and Abe get into a little bit of trouble, but I can't really go on any further. But in their mind, they're doing it for the greater good. They don't think EJ should run Salem and this is the town that they have loved for years. So, sometimes they're doing some things that probably they shouldn’t be doing.

Soaps.com: Will we be seeing another side of Jennifer's personality?

Melissa: Yeah, and probably Abe too.

Soaps.com: Will Jack Junior be coming to town any time soon?

Melissa: We talk about him a lot, but I haven't heard anything about actually seeing him.

Soaps.com: Is there anything else you can tease about what's to come for Jennifer, maybe with the holidays coming up?

Melissa: We have our time in the Horton living room hanging ornaments, which is always special and makes me think of Frances [Reid, Alice] being on that set. That's always a sweet time. We did it so long ago, but I know the fans love that. I just think that's going to be really neat. After that, starts the whole mayoral campaign, which is where we get into a little bit of trouble. [laughs] It's fun because you go, 'You could never do this in real life,' but you pretend to do it on TV, it's pretty fun.

Erica turned into Jennifer? Didn't see that coming!

Well, IngaOlaf, I didn't see that coming either! Guess J.R.'s bullet did hit Erica! She must have gone to the hospital for emergency surgery and the surgeon decided to do a little nip, tuck while he was taking the bullet out! Wonder if she was taken to General Hospital in Port Charles and the surgeon wasn't none other than Dr. Steve Webber? Heh, heh.... That would explain everything!

You said that maybe Steve Webber did something. Maybe Steve's Mother Heather did something since she is also Janet Green. Oh, Wait A Minute. Robin Mattson's Janet was Friends with Erica. It's Kate Collins Janet that Erica is Afraid of and wants nothing to do with. Jody

Maybe Kendall Tried to get EJ not to Run Salem so EJ Changed Erica's Looks. BTW, Maybe Alison can get the People on the Big Loser to do Susan Lucci's Pilantes. Bob Yells Get In There. Delvet Yells Faster, Go Faster. Susan Yells Out I know you can do It. Bob and Delvet look at Susan. This was A Very Special Show because They had TWO Weigh Ins. The First Weigh In was After the One Last Work Out at the Gym with Both Bob and Delvet Yelling at their Teams. Everybody had Barely Lost 2 Pounds even the Men. Then, They had Another Weigh In after They had been Working with Pilantes and The Women Lost from 7 to 9 Pounds and All the Men Including Jeremy and In My Version I had Chism Lost Over 12 Pounds. Bob and Delvet Couldn't Believe It. Alison said I'm Sorry Bob and Delvet, The Both Of You are Not the Biggest Loser. It's Time to Go. Susan Lucci is the New Trainer for Everybody. This will be The First Reality Show Run by Soap Actors. They Started having Other Soap Actors on Other Reality Shows. EVERYBODY IS The Big Winner. Jody
