Outside TBD, Adrienne thinks Lucas must be happy since Will and Ari are home. He had no idea. Adrienne feels bad. Maybe it was supposed to be a surprise. Inside, Sonny replays his conversation with Paul about his life being a mess. His mom interrupts and asks him to pry her foot out of her mouth. She explains the conversation with Lucas and learns Sonny still hasn't talked to his husband about the issues with the new club. Adrienne says she tracked Justin down and they want to write him a check to help him out. He doesn't want that. Lucas walks up and assumes Sonny knew and is upset about Will being replaced in L.A. Sonny didn't know but covers and acts as if he did.
At TBD Sonny gets a call from Will and they agree to meet in the park. He runs off and Lucas and Adrienne worry about the new club and whether or not Chad is taking advantage of Sonny. Lucas gets a text from Sami all in caps asking Lucas not to tell Sonny that Will was fired. Lucas cringes. He already did.
Sonny arrives at the park and confronts Will about lying. He knows his husband was fired. Will meant to tell him. He says his drafts were never good enough and then they brought in a new writer and didn't even tell him. Sonny's sorry but should have been told. They argue and Sonny runs back to work.
Sonny calls Will from the park and wants to discuss the expansion of the club but Will has a meeting. They'll talk about it later. Paul walks up. They discuss last night's phone call and Paul remarks that it felt like old times. He thought Sonny hated him. Sonny never did. He says Paul's allowed to be happy no matter what choices he makes. Paul confesses he hasn't been happy since Sonny left him. He hasn't connected with anyone the way they did. He flashes him a look that Sonny imagines women have seen time and time again. Sonny wonders when the image stops and the real Paul takes over.
