The Third Degree.

Chad is in the square with Gabi when he gets a phone call from Melanie. Brady appears. Melanie's yelling that she's in the tunnels, but Chad can't hear her and she's cut off. Brady suggests they go to the police, but then remembers there are old tunnels under Salem. Chad says that's where Lexi was held and got sick from toxic gases. They go, and says she'll call the police, but she tries to reach Andrew.

Andrew grabs Melanie and takes the phone from her in the tunnel. He demands to know who she called. Melanie says it doesn't matter - there was too much static. Andrew says she betrayed him. She begs him to let her go, but he furiously tells her to get moving. After a bit, she can't keep going. Meanwhile, Brady and Chad are in another part of the tunnel and smell gas. Gabi is down there too. Chad and Brady spot her and are upset that she didn't contact the police. She sends them in the opposite direction and takes off on her own. Soon, they realize there's a gas leak. Meanwhile, Melanie sees Gabi, who holds up her finger to her lips and approaches her behind Andrew's back. He turns and flicks his lighter causing an explosion!

The Ghost Of Stefano.

At SPD, Hope says they're planning on questioning Gabi again but it's best if Chad's not there. Chad is shocked to see EJ in cuffs. EJ asks about Melanie but there's no word. The cop leaves and EJ admits he's charged with murdering Stefano. In the outer room, Bo and Hope want an explanation as to why Gabi's prints were on the note found at Andrew's. Meanwhile, Chad refuses to believe EJ could have done this. EJ confesses he's not Stefano's biological son. In the outer room, Gabi looks more guilty to Hope and Bo when she can't explain how her prints came to be on the note. Meanwhile, EJ explains he has known about this since before Lexi died. Chad doesn't care. "You're still my brother so anything you need, okay? Just let me know." EJ starts to laugh. He sounds like Stefano. Hope brings Chad into the other room and suggests hypnosis for Gabi.

Bo lets Sami in to see EJ at SPD. She wonders how he manipulated Will's impression of him. EJ didn't want him to find the letter. Sami believes that. EJ rants about how Salemites are speculating about how he feels about 'being nothing'. Sami tells him how Will relates to EJ. EJ says he found Alice's note. Sami points out that he didn't lure it over his head and asks EJ not to play on her son's sympathies. She tells him she's sure Stefano loved him. "And you're not nothing." She says someone deleted the footage of the man digging into the bin. EJ goes nuts and starts smashing things. Sami cleans up and shows EJ her flash drive. He grabs her, and yells, "Something finally is going my way!" He kisses her and tells her to give the drive to his lawyer. The cop returns to fit him with cuffs.

As Gabi and Chad walk through the square, Chad receives a call from Melanie. Nearby, Rafe considers Carrie's words and flashes to kissing Sami. "Gets under my skin. Yeah right," he mumbles. In another area of the square, someone grabs Sami and chloroforms her!

How Could You Betray Me?

Gabi follows Chad through the square and harasses him for not taking care of himself. Cameron and Abigail agree that he needs to take a break. Chad vows to destroy whoever is responsible, making Gabi flashback and grimace. Sonny arrives and says the police are convinced Andrew's Gabi's stalker. Abigail questions why Andrew would kidnap Melanie instead of Gabi, who he was obsessed with? There's something that doesn't make sense. Gabi starts to crack as everyone discusses theories and feels as though they're blaming her. She runs off in a snit and Chad follows. Sonny starts to smell gas and runs to the cafe to see if there's a leak. Abigail cries, worried about Melanie.

Back at the square, Gabi almost tells Chad the truth when Bo and Hope turn up with a photo of Andrew. Abigail rushes over. Gabi feigns not recognizing him but Chad remembers him as Andrew, a photographer's assistant. Abigail watches Gabi's reaction. Hope runs to tell Daniel and Gabi assumes there's no way of tracking Andrew down. Bo says they're not planning on stopping until Melanie's home and everyone involved is brought to justice. Abigail's eyes narrow at Gabi.

Tight Little Box.

Outside Andrew's place, Nicole tells a frantic Daniel to let Bo and Hope do their jobs. Rafe arrives and enters. Hope is soothing Gabi while Chad asks her about Melanie. Gabi acts out of it. Bo thinks Gabi was taken by the same person who kidnapped Melanie. Outside, Daniel paces. He has to know... Inside, Gabi tells Rafe, Bo, and Hope she was going door-to-door searching for Melanie and was grabbed from behind. Rafe muses that the guy must have took off with Melanie. Daniel appears. Chad and Bo show him Mel's name on the wall - they know she was there. Rafe says they're trying to get leads. Bo sends everyone outside. Daniel and Nicole decide to call the TV station. Chad insists he'll look after Gabi. Hope finds a note. Chad rants that it's like the guy is bragging he has Melanie. They try to decipher a smudged phone number. Chad wonders if the culprit is Gabi's stalker. Bo says they're missing something that's staring them in the face. Gabi looks wary. Bo wants to test the note for prints. Gabi thinks back to finding the note and seems torn about whether to speak up.

All The Little Bread Crumbs.

Gabi arrives at Andrew's and finds the place empty and a note from Andrew, saying he has taken Melanie away with him where nobody can find her. She gasps. Chad arrives and upon seeing Mel's bracelet, kicks the door in and searches the premises. He calls Bo, fills him in and is told to get out of there. Bo tells Daniel, Hope and Nicole the news and they all head out and once they arrive they bag the bracelet Chad found. Everyone heads inside after Bo tells Chad not to touch anything. He touches everything and finds the basement. In a frenzy Gabi tries to hide inside the cell while everyone looks through the peep hole. Chad goes berserk and Daniel has to hold him back. Bo says because Mel's not there, they need to get a search warrant. Chad refuses to leave so Hope stays with him while he rants about what the kidnapper will do. Hope tries to calm him. Outside, Nicole reminds Daniel that Melanie's a survivor. They bond. Bo returns with a warrant and a huge battering ram. They break down the door and find Gabi 'unconscious'.

Liars And Lowlifes.

In the cell, Mel continues to scrape her bracelet against the wall and flashes to every single date she has had with Chad, while just outside, Andrew tells Gabi he likes Melanie's company. She's staying. Gabi tries unsuccessfully to change his mind. He taunts her. What'll Chad say when he finds out what she has done? Gabi's in a panic. She's sure they'll get caught. Gabi grabs his phone and Andrew starts to laugh. If she's thinking of deleting the voice recordings, he has made copies. Chad calls and asks her to meet him at SPD. She's worried it's a trap. Andrew tells her not to jaywalk. "You don't want to get arrested." Andrew puts on his mask and heads in to see Mel. He has decided they're going to be together forever. He brings her food and unties her and leaves. She imagines Chad's there reassuring her. Andrew hears her talking and busts in.
