    Monday, August 05 2013

They have to get a judge to agree. Rafe thinks about Marge's words in his hospital bed. Nicole is there. She can't afford to lose him since she has few friends. He reassures her. She says he must be relived he rid himself of Sami. Rafe wishes he could talk to her. Nicole goes on about how Sami ruined the school opening for Eric. Rafe smirks. It's obvious to him she really cares about Eric. Nicole sniffs that he's a good friend. She tells him about Eric getting sick. Rafe wants to look over the case notes, but Nicole says he can't say anything.

EJ visits Sami who is upset about Marge. He tells her the hearing was delayed but Justin is cautiously optimistic. She could be home-free. Justin calls - they got the court-order.

    Tuesday, July 30 2013

Sami awaits her bail hearing in court. Eric shows up for support. The proceedings begin. Justin asks that Sami be released on her own recognizance. DA Melinda Trask laughs and tells the judge there's new evidence. She also calls Sami a flight risk. They recess while the judge reviews the video. Melinda reminds Abe the mayor instructed him to help her. He knows. He has already had to arrest his friend's daughter in public. Wasn't that enough? He wonders what difference he makes. The judge returns and is about to set bail when Melinda says she has a witness who can attest that Sami is a flight risk. Justin argues that Sami has young children and family in Salem. She was saving the life of a man she cares for. Trask asks if they've interviewed Rafe yet and EJ jumps up and yells that Rafe was in a coma. Sami tries to keep quiet but asks who Trask's special witness is. The judge shuts them all down and Trask tells the judge that the DiMeras have a private jet with a private island in Morocco which currently has no extradition treaty with USA. She overheard EJ telling Sami he'd do what it takes to get her out of jail. Abe Carver can confirm this. Abe purses his lips and takes the stand. He did hear EJ say EJ knew what to do to keep Sami safe. Melinda tells the judge that last year EJ was involved in a high stakes case. He removed his ankle monitor and fled Salem while he was out on bail - all with Sami's help. The judge denies bail and Sami's taken, sobbing, to her cell.

In the courtroom, EJ and Justin learn Kayla has information on Sami's case. They run off while Abe tells Eric how sorry he is for arresting Sami at the church. He then yells at Melinda never to put him in that position again.

    Get Your Irish Up.

    Monday, July 29 2013

In Hope's office, she and Justin debate whether or not Bernardi's shooting was premeditated. Justin reveals he's not defending Sami anymore but is still interested in the case. He believes Adrienne was right to be protective of their son. He leaves and EJ arrives. After some prodding, EJ admits he knows Bernardi was on Stefano's payroll but can't prove it.

Will visits Sami in jail. He tells her Rafe thinks Sami shot him. Sami gasps. Will explains he's having a hard time separating reality from dreams. He leaves and EJ returns. They argue about the mob lawyer until Justin shows up. He tells them his wife blamed Will's family for Will's issues. Justin didn't believe her. Sami's sorry. Justin knows she's not. They'd lie again in a heartbeat. Before he agrees to take this case, he threatens to come after EJ if his son's put in another situation like this. "The Greek's didn't invent revenge, but we made it into an art form," he tells them. If they can refrain from lying 'through their freaking teeth', they should get to work. Justin tells Sami to keep quiet for her bail hearing. EJ asks why Justin took the case. Exonerating Sami's the best thing to do for their boys.

    Do You Feel Safe?

    Wednesday, July 24 2013

At the station, Adrienne's forced to admit to everyone that she turned in the attack video to the DA. EJ booms, "You fool," and Justin holds him back. He tells Sonny and Will to go home and Justin takes Adrienne away. EJ thinks Abe is enjoying the show but he's not. How stupid could EJ be to set up his client by concealing evidence? Abe needs to know why Sami was attacking Bernardi in that video. EJ can't tell him but begs Abraham to ensure Sami's safety.

In the park, Justin yells at Adrienne for giving the DA motive to arrest Sami and for sandbagging him. Adrienne thinks she blew his cover up and reminds him she tried to show him the video. He ignored her and Sami stonewalled her as well. Adrienne is protecting their son and doesn't think Sami's innocent anyway. She was trying to keep their son out of prison. Justin admits he didn't know about the video and tells her their son isn't at risk but Sami is - thanks to her.

EJ and Justin meet at the square. Justin tells EJ off about yelling at Adrienne and accuses EJ of keeping the video from him in order to stick it to his old man. "Find yourself another lawyer," Justin says, and walks away.
