    Thursday, October 23 2008

After Melanie has a vision of Trent, accusing her of murdering him, at the pub, she cuts her date short with Nick, leaving him confused. She rushes to her room upstairs and has another vision of Trent. He again accuses her of murder and tells her she can't hide from him. "Killing someone stays with you. You've got to pay the price, Melanie," he says and Melanie cries that she doesn't remember killing him. He calls her a bad seed and she runs out of her room, yelling, "No, Dad, get out of here. I didn't do it!" She runs straight into Philip's arms. He tells her that Stephanie snitched on her, and Melanie tells him to get out. He asks her to explain why she had Trent's wallet, and when she doesn't say, he threatens the police. She denies killing Trent and tells him to get out. Philip feels guilty for hurting her feelings and knows her father abused her. Melanie mocks him and sarcastically says that this is why she's such a horrible person and why she killed her father! She rants and raves and Philip feels terrible. He apologizes for accusing her unfairly, and turns to go, but Melanie stops him. He's the only one who knows the truth about the wallet. Philip says he has to tell the truth about it, but Melanie would rather he didn't talk. She asks to buy his silence and tries to seduce him.

    Internet Bimbo.

    Wednesday, October 08 2008

Melanie arrives at the cemetery and reminisces about meeting Trent the night of his murder. "Dad, why do I always have to fix your mistakes," she cries, sadly. Trent asks, "You do love me, don't you?" She does, so he asks her to bail him out of this trouble. She tells him this is wrong. He's supposed to protect her, but he points out that he gave her a cushy life. "Aren't you supposed to love me anyway," she asks and tells him she owes him nothing. She yells that his love is so conditional and that's why she is the way she is. He moves toward her and she pulls a knife [looks like the murder weapon] from her handbag and tells him to stay away. He asks her to put the knife down but she cries and refuses to. "I didn't turn you into an internet bimbo," he retorts, when she yells at him for calling her names. She asks if this will be the last time she ever has to prove her love for him again in this fashion, and he promises, but Melanie doesn't believe him. She comes out of her flashback with a worried expression. She starts to flashback again and Trent asks her to put the knife down and he'll withdraw his request. He asks her to go home with him but home is with Max, she says. Trent disrespects Max and his job choices and Melanie finds it disgusting. She felt sorry for Max, when they first met because his father gave him up, like a piece of trash, but she now thinks she's the one who should get the sympathy, for having to grow up with Trent as a father. She tries to leave and Trent grabs her arm and pulls her back. She shakes him off and tells him to let go, but they get into a scuffle. The knife falls to the ground and they both reach for it. Melanie comes out of her flashback and rakes a hand through her hair, nervously.

    Thursday, September 25 2008

Claude calls Trent, at the hotel. He's trying his patience and wants his money, or he wants Trent's daughter. "One or the other," he says, and hangs up. Trent looks at a photo of Melanie. He debates whether or not he can produce Melanie and realizes he has no other choice, since he does not have the cash.

Max and Melanie wind up in Trent's hotel room. He asks for a favor. He tells Melanie he knows he put her in a difficult position with Claude but she left him in a messy situation. Claude's not happy with him and he wants Melanie to clean up her mess, or he's a dead man. Max says, "Wow, you're in a bind here." Trent tells Max he feels a connection to him, even though they don't see eye to eye. Max doesn't see it. Trent turns to Melanie and says he knows he has disappointed her but she means the world to him. Melanie starts to cry. She asks Max to let her leave. She hates when he's like this. "Oh God, please help me, Melanie. Please," Trent begs. Max tells Trent to back off, but Trent tells Melanie he'll change. Melanie perks up and wants to believe him but Max sees right through Trent and tells him to stop manipulating Melanie and stay away from her. He grabs Max by the lapels and threatens to kill him. Melanie calls Nick and begs him to come to Trent's hotel room. Meanwhile, Max punches Trent in the head. Trent goes down and Max continues beating him as Melanie screams in fear.

Nick and Chelsea rush into Trent's hotel room and Nick pulls Max off Trent. Nick says he has the grant money and can give it to him. Melanie yells out, "What?" Nick thinks he can give Trent the money and then he'll leave them alone, but Trent gets up off the floor and grunts. "Leave? I'm not going anywhere." He likes it at the University, and says they'll be rich, once the kinks are worked out on the prototype. Trent approaches Melanie and asks her not to cry. She begs Max, "I can't do this." Meanwhile, Trent appeals to Melanie's trust for him and asks her to help him. It doesn't work this time. She's strong and tells him she's through with him. She yells that Max is the best person she knows and Trent dumped him. Trent yells that his children are losers and worthless. They all leave him ranting at them. Once they're outside, Trent tells Melanie that their father is as good as gone. One way or another, he's leaving Salem tonight!

She says the police found out that she's Misty Circle and married to him. She runs off to get physically ill again and Trent says, "Something you ate?" She thinks it's Caroline's chowder, she admits and asks again for her money. He refuses. She looks just as good as she always did. Maybe 'Locker Room Lolita' will make a comeback, he asks. Nicole has loads of stuff on Trent and doesn't mind coming clean. He offers sex in exchange for money, causing Nicole to call him a pig. Max walks in on the two and calls Trent an SOB! "I'm shaking in my boots," says Trent.

Inside the pub, Nicole looks at a large knife that someone's using to cut lemons with. She says, "That bastard doesn't deserve to live," but rushes off to be physically ill.

What happened to the Cat in the Hat?

    Tuesday, September 23 2008

Outside the pub, Trent tells Melanie that they need to clear the air and get things back to the way they used to be. Melanie says she once showed a little leg, but she'd never have done more. He pimped her out. Trent thinks she'd have gone through with it if Max hadn't have interfered. Melanie denies it and calls Trent disgusting. "I would never have had sex with Claude." Trent says Claude just wanted a drink with her but Melanie says he was expecting more than that. "How the hell was I supposed to know he was expecting that," Trent asks, and Melanie retorts that Trent knew exactly what Claude wanted. She asks why he never asked her to come home at holidays. Trent didn't show an interest because she didn't show an interest in her grades and instead acted like a sleaze. Melanie tries to hit him but he pushes her away. She stalks off and Nick shows up, yelling at Trent asking what he did to Melanie. Trent calls it none of his business. He says that the second the board finds out about what he did to Melanie, he'll be out of a job. Trent says he can turn the tables on him and make sure he's seen as a fraudulent liar. Melanie listens in from nearby as Trent threatens Nick's dreams for his prototype. "Mess with her again, you're a dead man," threatens Nick. Trent tells him not to make threats he can't keep. Melanie thinks Nick's right. Maybe everything would be fine if her father just died.
