She rushes to her room upstairs and has another vision of Trent. He again accuses her of murder and tells her she can't hide from him. "Killing someone stays with you. You've got to pay the price, Melanie," he says and Melanie cries that she doesn't remember killing him. He calls her a bad seed and she runs out of her room, yelling, "No, Dad, get out of here. I didn't do it!" She runs straight into Philip's arms. He tells her that Stephanie snitched on her, and Melanie tells him to get out. He asks her to explain why she had Trent's wallet, and when she doesn't say, he threatens the police. She denies killing Trent and tells him to get out. Philip feels guilty for hurting her feelings and knows her father abused her. Melanie mocks him and sarcastically says that this is why she's such a horrible person and why she killed her father! She rants and raves and Philip feels terrible. He apologizes for accusing her unfairly, and turns to go, but Melanie stops him. He's the only one who knows the truth about the wallet. Philip says he has to tell the truth about it, but Melanie would rather he didn't talk. She asks to buy his silence and tries to seduce him.
