Hope and Bo lead Shawn Sr. on John's jet. Shawn Sr. frets over leaving Colleen behind and Bo feigns checking his messages when he has pain in his stomach area. Shawn, Belle, Claire, Chloe and Philip arrive and Chloe tells Phil how upset she is over not finding Brady. Kayla and Steve arrive, but when Steve notices the mysterious woman on the ground below, he dashes off the plane after her leaving Kayla puzzled. John and Marlena arrive and John calls to the pilot to get them off the ground. The plane needs to be de-iced, so they need to wait. John reads, Soldiers and Commanders while Marlena asks how John's doing. She thinks he's sad. "I don't do sad," he replies. She reminds him his mother just died and he says not by his hand. He says he feels it's over - he didn't have to hurt her so he wonders why he should feel sad. "Because she was a good woman and she loved you," Marlena says and wonders why he lingered after the spreading of the ashes. He says he thought he saw Colleen meet Santo DiMera in an apparition but doesn’t want to discuss it. He assumes it was a hallucination.
Marlena goes to check on Shawn and shares John's 'hallucination' with them. Marlena thinks they found peace in the afterlife. Shawn thinks that's a lovely thing to say. John tells the gang that they're ready for takeoff and they take their seats. Steve refuses to tell Kay about why he got off the plane and instead lies that he forgot his cell phone below. Kayla does not trust or believe in him and continues to pressure him for the 'real' reason why he left. Outside the plane, we see the mysterious woman. Steve tries to get her to relax and check on Shawn who is trying to stay strong. Shawn tells the two that he missed a lot of years with Colleen but Steve says it's the last few days that mattered.
In their seats, Bo and Hope have a strange conversation where Bo appears to want to tell Hope about his condidtion. Since he doesn't know much about it, he tells her that Kayla came to Ireland not just to bring Pop, but for another reason. Hope is a little frustrated and implores him to tell her what's on his mind but he simply asks her to trust him!! "You're asking a lot," she says, with a sigh. Hope comments she hasn't been able to eat in days. Bo worries about her not sleeping or eating but Hope says she'll be fine once she's home with Caroline's chowder!
Philip catches Chloe deep in thought about Brady. He comments that he thinks it's a matter of time before Victor finds Brady but Chloe says she'll still worry. Philip asks if she'll divorce Brady upon his return but Chloe isn't sure. She reaches for his hand and strokes it.
In Colleen's room, Marlena shows John, Belle, Shawn and Shawn Sr. a letter she found from Colleen, with instructions as to what she wants done after her passing. A miserable John asks what the difference is. Marlena doesn't' t like how cold he's being but John says he wants to burn the letter and call it a day so they can go home. He hopes "Dear old Mom had the decency to keep it short and sweet." Marlena points out that this is not the John she knew. John agrees. He isn't that same man. Belle tells Marlena not to let this get to her. Maybe John will readjust once they're in Salem. Marlena agrees and says once Colleen's ashes arrive, they can move on. Shawn Sr. and Shawn go off to read the letter and John takes off alone.
Back downstairs at the pub, after Kayla and Lexi hang up, Hope comes to Kayla and asks if she's keeping something from her. Kayla beats around the bush until Steve and Bo arrive and interrupt them. Shawn D tells the family they've discussed the memorial arrangements and they comment on how John's new attitude is a pain in the butt! John interrupts everyone when he returns from his walk. "What the hell are you guys looking at," he barks! Nobody responds.
The family gathers in the forest to spread Colleen's ashes. Marlena pressures John to hold Colleen's remains and Shawn Sr. is choked up, so Bo says a few words. He remembers Colleen through the love letters she and Santo wrote and says Colleen was feisty and had a connection to Santo. "Good bad, right or wrong, they loved each other," he says and prays they find happiness in the afterlife. He says they should never take love for granted. Shawn and Belle get close and Philip rubs Chloe's arm as Bo speaks. John stands stoically while Marlena gazes lovingly at him. John opens the urn and gives it to Shawn to scatter some of Colleen's remains. As he does so we see flashbacks to when Santo first met Colleen all those years ago. Kayla scatters some as well as each member of the family until we have revisited Santo and Colleen's love. John is the last to scatter and after he has done so, the family walks back to the pub.
Back at the Aubin pub, Marlena tells everyone John's pilot is standing by. Shawn tells Belle he's glad his father is a Kiriakis - otherwise they'd be related! Belle laughs and realizes she's more of a Brady than he! They agree to figure out their situation once they return home. Marlena panics when John can't be found. She goes off to find him and Steve notices a mysterious woman in the window, watching him. When she sees him, she runs off with him in pursuit.
In her room, Colleen tells the family she has cancer and has fought it for so long but now it's too late for her. She'll soon pass on but is happy to be able to visit with her family and her beloved brother. Shawn cries that God wouldn't be this cruel to take her away but Colleen says this is fate - not God's work. When John disrespects Colleen, Shawn stands up for her and Bo tells John through gritted teeth that he has crossed the line. Colleen says it's fine - he has a right to be angry or to hate her for what she has done but John says he doesn't hate her - he feels nothing for her. Then he corrects himself and admits the only feeling he has is disappointment for not killing her when he had the chance! Hope yells to him to stop being so cruel but John thinks Colleen's the cruel one and calls her manipulative for the way she treated Santo. Colleen retorts that she loved Santo enough to let him go. She knows Marlena understands this and stands up for Santo. She tells them he loved her but she couldn't allow him to leave his wife. John comments that he doesn't think she did him a favor by faking her death. Stefano told him that because of her faked death, Santo became a broken shell of a man who taught Stefano how to resent. Colleen doesn't believe this and tells him Santo was kind. She thinks John is just as kind but his kindness is buried deep inside and she's sure that John's bitterness scares him more than anyone else. "You cover up your fear with your cruelty," she finishes, before asking Shawn and Belle to come to her. Shawn takes Belle's hand in his and they sit with Colleen who tells them they're the future of the family. She asks that they not forget where they come from and says her tearful goodbyes. "It's alright, I promise you. I love you." She says. Shawn promises not to let her down. Colleen asks to talk to Bo and says though he doesn’t have Brady blood, he's got the spirit. "I hear you're a pain in the arse," she says, smiling, and everyone laughs. She tells Hope to stand by her man and thinks he's a lucky man to have her. She asks him to take care of her brother. Kayla says she wishes she could help. Colleen calls her a healer and tells Marlena she is the tower of strength in the family and it pleases her to know she'll do what she can to keep the family together. Colleen asks for time alone with Shawn and John, so Hope hugs her and says she'll never forget her. Bo tells Colleen he has always thought of himself as a Brady and always will. Shawn tells her he'll never let Claire forget her and everyone waits outside the door.
Belle gives John the medallion that Colleen gave to her. She wants him to give it to Sami and thinks it'll mean a lot to her. After she leaves, John drops it in the trash and asks Marlena snidely how much more time Colleen has. Marlena gives him a dirty look and pulls the medallion out of the trash while Shawn Sr. takes the blame for this and asks Colleen's forgiveness. Colleen reminds him that he did the right thing years ago by telling her the truth about Santo being married and therefore, there is nothing to forgive. She wants him to remember her from their childhood. Shawn hugs Colleen and says, "I love you Leenie. We'll be together again." Shawn leaves with one last glance back as Colleen holds her arms out to John. "You won't deny me one last dying wish." She begs him to come to her and John reluctantly goes to Colleen and sits at her side and allows her to hold him close. Marlena struggles with her tears as she and Shawn watch.
Outside Colleen's door, the family wishes Sami could have met Colleen. Shawn and Bo worry about Shawn and Kayla says it'll be hard on him. Bo knows it's important that Pop is here for her and that they're there for him, when she's dead and gone. Marlena leaves Colleen's room and calls everyone back. "It won't be long now," she says quietly. Colleen holds John and tells him she loves him so. She asks him to hold her in his arms, one last time. "Please John." John moves closer and holds her close. "I have to rest now, John," Colleen repeats, over and over until she passes away quietly, in John's arms. John moves away from her and Shawn pays his last respects and kisses his sister's forehead. Bo covers Colleen with a blanket as the family quietly weeps.
Shawn and the family comes down the stairs and Shawn cries that he can't believe she's gone. Philip and Chloe give their condolences and Philip tells Belle that Claire is getting some ice cream from Crystal and he has to get a message to Kayla. Chloe elects to go get Claire while Belle asks Shawn if they're back together. Shawn thinks it could work. He's no longer angry with her for what she did and says he and Philip have made their peace. He's willing to try to give it a go he says, while he takes her hand in his.
Philip offers the family his help if they need. Shawn cries over his loss and Philip quietly tells Kayla that Lexi called. Kayla calls Lexi and tells her that the family has been in shock since Colleen passed away suddenly. Lexi is saddened and gives her condolences but explains she has more bad news. She thinks things with Bo could be worse than they thought. Hope needs to know now. Kayla agrees and Lexi say she has more news. "Remember you had all that blood work done to check your hormones?" Kayla does and worries but Lexi has good news. "You're pregnant!" A surprised Kayla grins happily!
Belle, Claire, Shawn, Bo, Hope and Marlena return to the Aubin pub and Marlena tells the family that John almost killed Colleen. She tells them the story Colleen told them and Belle is shocked that Colleen is John's mother and her grandmother. Marlena's afraid that John's a walking time bomb. Bo grabs Steve and Philip and the men go out to find John while Hope stays behind to help protect the family. Marlena says that they can do a blood test to confirm Colleen's words and Belle is incredulous. She goes upstairs to be with her grandma. Marlena worries that once the men find John, he'll resist with everything he's got. The ladies wonder how Brady fits into this. Chloe goes off to make tea for all and Hope jumps up to go see Shawn but finds herself dizzy. She passes it off as lack of food and goes to see Shawn to tell him the news. Kayla watches her walk away, with interest.
John arrives at the Aubin pub with Bo. Kayla calls the guys to tell them they're back and Bo shows Marlena the knife that John was going to use on himself. John strikes up a match and smokes a cigar while he listens. Kayla calls to Steve to tell him what's up and pressures her to call for flights for Bo and Hope. She worries about telling Hope the truth, as it was so hard to tell Bo. "How do you tell someone they're dying?" Steve asks, and when Shawn and Philip arrive and ask Steve who he is talking about, Steve claims he was talking about one of Kayla's patients. The men go back to the Aubin pub.
John asks for a drink and thinks it's good to hear he's filthy rich. Hope runs to Bo and he tells her John's pretty messed up. Bo kisses Hope passionately and tells her he needed her to know how much he loves her. He's about to tell her something when she goes to Shawn to hug him. Steve asks Kayla if she spoke to Hope yet but she hasn't and they realize they have to do it now. Hope comments to Shawn that her back has been hurting and asks if he and Belle will get back together. Shawn doesn't know what he feels or wants but after listening to Aunt Colleen's stories, he knows you have to work at love.
At another table, Marlena offers John a deal. She hypnotizes him and he'll come back to Salem with them or she'll have him put in jail for hurting her and Bo! Quietly, Steve asks Kay to talk to Bo and Hope. Hope wonders what's going on but they're interrupted by Shawn Sr. who comes downstairs and tells them they need to come upstairs to see Colleen, now.
Shawn puts Claire to bed and thanks God for her return. He flashes back to her abduction and to visiting Belle in the hospital. Belle arrives and Shawn flashes back to sitting downstairs at the pub with her and telling her he wants to focus on family and Colleen for now and not get into their issues. Shawn admits to Belle that he thinks something's off about Steve and Kayla's visit. Belle thinks he needs to take a breather from his concern for Claire and thinks Kayla and Steve showed up to bring grandpa Shawn.
