In the pub, Marlena tells Hope that John wants a divorce. Hope says Gran would say that where there's great love there's always hope. Marlena says John thinks there's no way to go forward. Ciara arrives and wants to see Johnny. Hope says they need to talk. They leave. Johnny joins Marlena. He tells her he's glad he missed Ciara. He's about to talk about their fight when EJ appears. Johnny goes off and Marlena and EJ discuss Rafe and Will. EJ's about to ask her to babysit Johnny, but she volunteers. Later, Johnny tells Marlena he did a bad thing.
At the cafe, Ciara tells Hope that she hid the letter so she'd take her to the zoo; she works so much. She says Johnny does bad things too. He took something from her.
Nails In Stefano's Coffin.
Sonny delivers Gabi's baby on Smith Island. He spanks the baby to get her breathing and he and Gabi tear up as they meet Arianna Grace. In the shed, Nick sobs and calls Jansen inhuman, for shooting Will. Nick vows Jansen will pay, just as Hope barges in and shoots Jansen dead. She calls EMS and Will opens his eyes. Back-up finds Sonny and Gabi in some shed across the island while the EMS works on Will.
At the hospital, Daniel and Maxine hope Rafe will take a turn for the better before his niece arrives. Suddenly, the EMS arrives with Will and he goes into surgery. Hope and Nick arrive. Sonny wheels Gabi and Ari in and Maxine takes Ari for tests. Sonny and Gabi are horrified to hear of Will's shooting.
Every Last Fingernail.
At the church, Hope tells Vargas she needs to find Nick and Gabi. Vargas doesn't know how to help. Hope says, "This is on me." She should have been a better mother and she would have known the bastard was out before he could hurt anyone.
Hope and her officers arrive on the island and start searching with flashlights. Still in the shed, Gabi tells Sonny she is really scared. "She's coming!" In the other shed, Will fights Jensen while the gun lies on the floor. They both grab for it. A shot rings out. Will falls to the floor. Nick yells out. Hope bursts in and shoots Jensen. Meanwhile, Gabi gives birth but panics when the baby doesn't cry.
A Good Day To Die.
At the station, Ciara listens as Hope reads a cop the riot act for misplacing a paper saying a murderer was being released. He says he told Ciara to make sure she saw the letter. Ciara calls him a liar. Hope tells him to pull everything on Jensen and questions Ciara. When Hope finally sees the letter, she sighs deeply. She chastises Ciara for hiding the letter, and learns Jensen's shoeprint matches the crime scene.
Hope meets Vargas at the church; she wants his help. She thinks he knows the person who attacked Rafe Hernandez. Vargas looks at Jensen's photo and says he's scum; why would they let him out? She explains how his conviction was overturned. Vargas tells her if she wants information on Jensen to ask Nick. He explains how Nick caused Jensen to get solitary, adding that he beat Nick up before...and after. Hope gasps.
You're An Idiot.
At SPD, Gabi is interrupted by Sami when she explains that EJ took a call the night of Rafe's beating, asking, "Is it done?" She thinks EJ did it. Sami yells that it's untrue. Gabi reminds her it's not the first time EJ tried to kill Rafe. "How stupid can you really be?" She starts in on Sami bed hopping and then blames herself for asking him to get her those muffins from Martha's. Sami tells her it's not her fault and Hope says there was no bakery bag at the scene. Gabi flashes to Nick giving her the muffin bag and makes a dash for the door.
Hope and Ciara arrive at SPD. Hope takes a call about a prisoner. She didn't receive any word on that!
